Effects of In-Situ Flushing on the Bioremediation of Soil Contaminated with Endosulfan (In-Situ Flushing기법이 Endosulfan으로 오염된 토양의 생물학적 처리에 미치는 영향)

  • In-situ flushing의 적용에 따른 농도 저감이 생물학적 분해에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여, 초기농도 13mg/kg dry soil과 3mg/kg dry soil인 토양을 생물학적으로 처리한 결과 제거효율은 각각 86% 및 81%였으며, 두 가지 토양 모두 24시간 이후에는 미생물에 의한 작용이 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 토양상에서 용액상으로의 미생물에 의한 작용이 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 토양상에서 용액상으로의 물질전이 속도가 율속 단계로 작용하고 있기 때문이라 생각된다. 토양에 잔류하는 계면활성제가 생물학적 분해에 미치는 영향을 본 결과, 잔류하는 계면활성제에 의해 물질전이 속도가 향상되어 생분해가 지속적으로 일어났으며 초기농도 3mg/kg dry soil인 경우 120시간이 경과한 후 89%의 제거효율을 나타내었다. 계면활성제와 보조용매가 동시에 잔류하는 경우에는 계면활성제에 대한 순응기간이 보다 길어지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 메탄올과 에탄올의 경우 각각 84%의 제거효율을 나타내었다.

The Case of Industrial Factory Wastewater Treatment and Reusing by Using of Constructed Wetland (식물정화조를 이용한 공업용 폐수의 정화 및 재활용 사례)

  • Constructed wetland was built for industrial factory wastewater treatment with environmentally sound method from July to October, 2000. Ultimately this case study was carried out to conserve water quality of river and underground water and to provide wildlife habitat and rest place for people in the industrial area. The size of constructed wetland was 10m$\times$6m (upper area) with a treatment capacity of 2.5㎥ per day. It was supplied with wastewater 0.625㎥ at intervals of six hours. Vertical flow system was chosen to promote efficiency. Draining layer was built one meter in soil depth out of sand mixed with pebbles in a ratio of two to one. Perennial emergent plants, Phragmites communis, Typha orientalis, Juncus effusus, Iris pseudoacorus, 20 individuals per square meter were planted. In the aspect of reusing, eco-pond was created for increasing biological species diversity and also deck and information signboard were established for the education of environment. As the result of monitoring, it was revealed that the constructed wetland was effective in removal of BOD$_{5}$, COD, T-N, T-P and has being gradually improved as a wildlife habitat(biotope).

The Liability on the Damage of Soil Pollution (토양오염의 피해에 대한 책임)

  • Soil is polluted by an agricultural chemicals, the effluence of a crystal and sewage sludge, illegal discharging of waste water or waste matter and so on. Soil pollution that accompanies a groundwater and the crops contamination has a large effect on people's living. By polluters pay principle, when a soil was polluted, polluters take the responsibility of clean-up and compensation for damages. The character of the responsibility is a strict liability. When joint polluters exist in a soil pollution, they bear collective responsibility. But they are exempted from obligation in case of a natural calamity and war. The polluters who are poor contribution of pollution take a partition responsibility but it is not easy to prove that. The concerned parties of purification liability in a soil pollution are polluter, an owner or occupant of a contaminated site, and a grantee. But when we do not appoint the polluter or he cannot do a cleanup, municipal must put in effect the purification. In such a case, another parties who are related to the contamination should take upon themselves a liability. The province of responsible parties, therefore, is required to extend to an owner or operator of a facility, a carrier and lender.

  • The effect of La and Si addition of the thermal stabilization of $\gamma-alumina$ powers have been studied. Reagent grade $La(NO_3)_3{\cdot}6H_2O$ and $Si(OC_2H_5)_4$ were used as starting materials. These additives were introduced by wet impregnation method. Both La and Si additives suppressed the sintering of alumina and were found to be good thermal stabilizers of $\gamma-alumina$. Especially, Si drastically suppressed the phase transition of alumina at high temperatures. The major mechanisms for the thermal stabilization of alumina were seemed to be new phase formation and retardation of surface diffusion by addition of La or Si into alumina matrix.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate mineral precipitates, which derived from the zero valent iron (ZVI) corrosion during TCE dechlorination and to find the controlling factors in mineral precipitates. A series of column experiemnts were conducted to evaluate the location of ZVI and the effects of electrode arrangements in electro-enhanced permeable reactive barrier (E2PRB) systems. Based on mineralogical study, ZVI samples near the influent port had more lepidocrocite, ferrihydrite or Fe (oxy)hydroxide, and (phospho)siderite while backward samples had more akaganeite, magnetite/maghemite, and intermediate green rust (GR) I and GR II. A suite of mineral distribution was preferabley related to the dissolved oxygen and the increased pH. Controlling factors of mineral precipitates in an E2PRB system were found to be (1) pH, (2) dissolved oxygen, (3) the types of Fe intermediates, and (4) anionic species to form complex strongly.

Teachers' Understanding of Environment around Schools and Actual Survey in Prejudical Business in Taegu City (대구지역(大邱地域) 학교주변(學校周邊) 환경(環境)에 대한 교사(敎師)의 인식(認識)과 유해업소(有害業所) 실지조사(實地調査))

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute to improvement of educational environment by analysing all problems related to environment around the school. To accomplish this purpose, this study was carried out by examining the problems in controlling the areas required for cleanup with 220 teachers in charging the cleanup duties of the primary and secondary schools in Taegu between June 1 and July 15, 1993 and by actually surveying the prejudical business stores around 72 primary schools between August 10 and September 20, 1993. Although most teachers answered to the questionnaires that it is necessary to cleanup the bad environment around the school, the duties of its cleanup tend not to be considered as an important matter. The teachers considered that the most prejudical business store around the school is totally the game room, and in such order as comic books' store, liquor selling shop and causing noise and pollution. 57.3% of total respondents answered that the present cleanup movements have resulted in failure mostly because of both supervising authorities' careless promotion and store owners' excessive commercial transactions. The result of actual survey in environmental and sanitary cleanup area around 72 primary schools showed that the greatest number of 1,258 prejudical stores was the video tapes shop, and then in such order as lodgings, and game rooms, while the number of prejudical store by the schools was 17.5 stores per school on the average which showed a various distribution from zero to 77 places. In general, these prejudical stores were mainly located around the schools in Jung-gu and Seo-gu areas. In addition, it was shown that the more the number of students, the more the number of the prejudical stores. In order to improve the environment around the school, it is necessary to strictly carry out the zoning system relating to the usage of land, to strongly restrict the stores without permit and abnormal stores and to establish the basis asking the city development authorities to go through the environmental evaluation. Moreover, it is absolutely required to make efforts to establish the national right sense of education, and to closely cooperate with the related authorities.

  • 환경은 경제에 대한 투입과정에서 자원을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 생산과정 내 폐기물을 정화시키는 역할도 한다. 이러한 과정을 통해 환경은 경제와 연결되어 끊임없는 재순환이 일어난다. 경북대 에너지환경경제연구소는 이러한 순환관계의 규명을 통해 에너지환경의 지속가능한 발전을 목표로 하고 있다. 이에 따라 각 연구부가 구성되어 분야별로 연구를 수행하고 있다. 각부간의 연구분야는 조직으로는 분리되어 있으나 연구소의 연구 내용의 특성상 부서간 개별적 연구보다는 협조적 연구가 실제적으로 이루어지고 있다.

  • 자동차용기관의 설계론을 기술함에 있어서 이미 서론에서 언급한 바와 같이 기관전반에 관한 설계론을 편다는 것은 도저히 무리이고 기관의 성능상의 문제나 배기정화의 문제에 있어서도 연소실의 문제가 중심이 되기 때문에 Squish를 가지는 연소실을 중심으로 하여 squish velocity 특성에 관하여 논하였다. 물론, 전술한 것만으로 Squish에 관한 문제가 완벽하다고는 절대 말 할수 없으나 설계계획에 있어서 Squish를 고려한 연소실의 모양 및 치수를 조금이라도 합리적으 로 잡을 수 있는데 도움이 되었으면 한다.

  • 비디오 데이터의 효율적인 저장, 관리를 위해서는 장면진환 검출을 통한 비디오 분할 기술에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG 압축 비디오 상의 B(Bidirectional) 프레임의 특성을 복호화 과정을 거치지 않고 직접 추출하여 I(Intra), P(Predictive), B(Bidirectional) 프레임에 제안받지 않고 장면전환을 검출해 내는 방법을 제안한다. 장면전환 검출을 위해 복호화 하지 않고 필요한 데이터만을 추출해 내어 B 프레임의 특징만을 이용해 검출하므로 빠르면서도 정화한 장면전환을 검출한다. 또한 카메라 움직임이나 빛의 변화 같은 잡음에 강건한 방법을 제안한다.
