Optical Properties of $La_2WO_6:RE^{3+}$(RE=Eu, Dy, Tb) Phosphors synthesized by Solid-state Reaction Method

  • 최근에 형광체 결정 입자의 크기와 적당한 활성제 이온의 종류를 선택하여 우수한 발광 특성을 갖는 세라믹 형광체를 합성하고자 많은 노력을 경주하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비교적 간단한 장비로 구성되며, 볼밀을 통하여 초기 물질들을 혼합하고 분쇄하여 최적의 형광 특성을 갖는 형광체 분말을 비교적 용이하게 합성하기에 적합한 고상반응법을 사용하여 적색, 황색, 녹색 형광체 La2WO6:RE3+ (RE=Eu, Dy, Tb)를 제조하고자 한다. 사용한 초기 물질은 (99.99% 순도), (99.99%), (99.9%), (99.9%) (99.9%)을 화학 정량으로 준비하였고, 활성제 이온의 함량비를 0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20 mol로 각각 변화시켜 형광체를 제조하여 그것의 발광과 흡광, 결정 입자의 크기와 형상을 조사하였다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 발광 스펙트럼은 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 전형적인 이온의 (j=1-4) 전이에 의한 발광 스펙트럼을 나타내었고, 가장 강한 적색 발광 파장은 611 nm에서 관측되었으며, 이온의 함량비가 0.15 mol에서 발광 피크가 장파장 쪽으로 10 nm 이동하였으며, 세 종류의 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 최대를 나타내었다. 이온의 함량비가 더욱 증가함에 따라 모든 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 순차적으로 감소하였다. 이 현상은 농도 소광 현상으로 해석 할 수 있다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 이온의 전형적인 전이에 의한 발광 스펙트럼이 관측되었으며, j=13/2에서 가장 강한 황색 발광이 피크 581 nm에서 관측 되었다. 상대적으로 발광 세기가 약한 484 nm에 정점을 갖는 청색 발광스펙트럼은 전이 신호이다. 이온의 함량비가 0.10 mol 일 때 세 영역의 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 최대를 나타내었다. 이온의 함량비가 증가함에 따라 모든 발광 스펙트럼의 세기는 순차적으로 감소하였다. 주 흡광 스펙트럼은 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 시료에서 파장 250 nm에서 관측되었다. 이온이 도핑된 형광체의 경우에, 이온의 함량비에 관계없이 모든 형광체 분말은 발광 세기가 제일 강한 550 nm의 피크를 갖는 녹색 발광과 상대적으로 발광 세기가 약한 495와 590 nm에 피크를 갖는 청색과 주황색 발광 스펙트럼들이 각각 관측되었다. 이 발광 신호들은 Tb3+ 이온의 5D47Fj (j=4, 5, 6) 전이에 의해 발광된 신호임을 확인하였다.

A Polynomial Time Algorithm for Edge Coloring Problem (간선 색칠 문제의 다항시간 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a O(E) polynomial-time algorithm that has been devised to simultaneously solve edge-coloring problem and graph classification problem both of which remain NP-complete. The proposed algorithm selects an edge connecting maximum and minimum degree vertices so as to determine the number of edge coloring ${\chi}^{\prime}(G)$. Determined ${\chi}^{\prime}(G)$ is in turn either ${\Delta}(G)$ or ${\Delta}(G)+1$. Eventually, the result could be classified as class 1 if ${\chi}^{\prime}(G)={\Delta}(G)$ and as category 2 if ${\chi}^{\prime}(G)={\Delta}(G)+1$. This paper also proves Vizing's planar graph conjecture, which states that 'all simple, planar graphs with maximum degree six or seven are of class one, closing the remaining possible case', which has known to be NP-complete.

Pruning Algorithm for Spokes Puzzle (수레바퀴 살 퍼즐에 관한 전정 알고리즘)

  • The problem of the spokes puzzle(SP), which connects the spokes(edges) required by the wheel axis (hub, vertex) without intersection to form a network in which all the hubs are connected, can be said to be a wasteland of research. For this problem, there is no algorithm that presents a brute-force search or branch-and-bound method that takes exponential time. This paper proposes an algorithm to plot a lattice graph with cross-diagonal lines of m×n for a given SP and to pruning(delete) the surplus edges(spokes). The proposed algorithm is a simple way to select an edge of a hub whose number of edges matches the hub requirement and delete the edge crossing it. If there is no hub with an edge that meets the hub requirement, a strategy was adopted to preferentially delete(pruning) the edge of the hub with the maximum amount of spare. As a result of applying the proposed algorithm to 20 benchmarking experimental data, it was shown that a solution that minimizes the number of trials and errors can be obtained for all problems.

  • Mass transit information should contribute many benefits to users. Especially transportation information technology is developing highly with information technology in Korea recently. Hereafter it is expected to provide customized transportation information to users individually with the advent of ubiquitous age in earnest. This public transportation information service can be realized by path finding algorithms in public transportation networks including travel and transfer attributes. In this research, multi objectives such as travel time, transfer time, and number of transfer and so on are constructed with the primary facts influencing users. Moreover, the method reducing user's path finding alternatives arbitrarily is proposed by selecting the best alternative which provides maximum utility to users among non dominated paths. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this study proposes a multi objective shortest paths finding algorithm which can take into account multiple user classes in a transit network with multiple travel modes. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated based on the two case studies - a small toy network and the large-scaled Seoul Metropolitan subway network.

  • The concept of 'Picturing' is beyond the 'Illusion' of traditional art in the Digital Media era. It is a 'Suffering' of the 'Re-appearance' that is masquerade the 'Actual' as a 'Digital Apparition.' This study aims to concern the point of view on the above subject; the 'Picturing' through the analysis of communication problems in the digital era. To begin with, need to define the concept of 'Picturing' and how it is expected to have a role through the accessibility of medium use, intervention by body and images. Also, I suggest a new approach to 'Picturing' as a new mutual communication method. Body, Digital media, and Image. These three principles of 'Picturing' create huge benefits to our world/nature whether we want it or not. It seems to become more and more of powerful self-replicating organism. We have to be aware what sort of images are surrounding us and how transmitting it to where in/on our body via newest sophisticated media we use. 'Picturing' is an invasion of ordinary, no longer exists pleasure for body, no longer speaks intension of its next destination. It strongly self-grows and also controls us in the name of Digital media era. However, 'Picturing' is a mode of re-imaging activity and also suggestion of re-appearance practice.

Stereo Image-based 3D Modelling Algorithm through Efficient Extraction of Depth Feature (효율적인 깊이 특징 추출을 이용한 스테레오 영상 기반의 3차원 모델링 기법)

  • A feature-based 3D modeling algorithm is presented in this paper. Since conventional methods use depth-based techniques, they need much time for the image matching to extract depth information. Even feature-based methods have less computation load than that of depth-based ones, the calculation of modeling error about whole pixels within a triangle is needed in feature-based algorithms. It also increase the computation time. Therefore, the proposed algorithm consists of three phases, which are an initial 3D model generation, model evaluation, and model refinement phases, in order to acquire an efficient 3D model. Intensity gradients and incremental Delaunay triangulation are used in the Initial model generation. In this phase, a morphological edge operator is adopted for a fast edge filtering, and the incremental Delaunay triangulation is modified to decrease the computation time by avoiding the calculation errors of whole pixels and selecting a vertex at the near of the centroid within the previous triangle. After the model generation, sparse vertices are matched, then the faces are evaluated with the size, approximation error, and disparity fluctuation of the face in evaluation stage. Thereafter, the faces which have a large error are selectively refined into smaller faces. Experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could acquire an adaptive model with less modeling errors for both smooth and abrupt areas and could remarkably reduce the model acquisition time.

Development of the Best Spherical Interpolation Method for Estimating Potential Natural Vegetation Distribution of the Globe (지구(地球)의 잠재자연식생분포(潜在自然植生分布)를 추정(推定)하기 위한 최적구면보간법(最適球面補間法)의 개발(開發))

  • As the first step to estimate the potential natural vegetation distribution of the globe, the best spherical interpolation method was developed to the temperature and precipitation which have close relation to the distribution pattern of world natural vegetation. For developing the interpolation method, a named Light Climatic Dataset composed of 1,060 stations around the globe was randomly divided into halves of feeding side and target side. The discrepancy between the observed and estimated values at the target stations was compared with combinations of parameters and methods. The estimated values were calculated to each combination which is all-out, constant radius and constant station methods in the selection of the feeding stations, n square reciprocal and negative exponential functions in weighting function of distance between feeding stations and each target, and oval weighting in direction of the feeding stations from each target. As a result, it turned out that the spherical interpolation with negative exponential weighting function fed from the constant radius stations ovally weighed yields the best estimates both for temperature and for precipitation. The parameters for temperature are $30^{\circ}$ in constant radius, 0.78 in negative exponential function and 0.4 in oval weighting, and for precipitation are $30^{\circ}$, 0.53 and 0.4, respectively.

Studies on the Distribution of Fisheries Resources by Bottom Trawling in the Yellow Sea (트롤조사에 의한 황해 주요 어족생물의 분포특성에 관한 연구)

  • Fish distribution characteristics are essential to assess and estimate fisheries resources in a particular area. The primary goal of this study is to determine the distribution characteristics by the bottom trawling in the Yellow Sea west of South Korea. The surveys were carried out between 33$^{\circ}$00'N~37$^{\circ}$00'N latitude and 124$^{\circ}$00'E~126$^{\circ}$00'E longitude at EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone) of Korea in Yellow Sea on May and August, 1999 and April, 2000. The ships used in this survey were the R/V Chung-kyeong(G/T 300) and R/V Dong-baek(G/T 1,050) of Yeosu National University. The results obtained can be summarized as follows 1. From the trawl data the fisheries resources are seriously decreasing through most of the species(about more 50%) have been appeared only one time at the bottom trawl on April, 2000. The total fish species caught by the trawl net during the 3 times survey were 106 species and a few species(dominant species) of these occupied 50~90% of the quantity of the total quantity by number or by weight. Among the dominant species the tanaka's snailfish was recorded to be the most dominant species in the survey area. The fish species in the Yellow Sea were clustered according to the regions. They clustered in two or three partes to the south-north direction in the spring season and clustered in two parts to the on-off shore direction of the shore in the summer season. Most of the fish caught at the the trawl net with cover-net(30.3mm) were small sized. They were shorter than 15 cm in length and the extruding rate of the cod-end which was 60mm mesh size ranges about 90%. 2. The densities of the number and weight per unit volume derived from the total catches sampled in April, 2000 survey were $1532.2{\times}10^{-6}fish/m^3$ and $39.55{\times}10^{-6}kg/m^3$, respectively. 3. The density variation of fish population between 1999 and 2000 showed a slight tendency to increase.

Seasonal and Spatial Distribution of Soft-bottom Polychaetesin Jinju Bay of the Southern Coast of Korea (진주만에서 저서 다모류의 시 · 공간 분포)

  • Seasonal quantitative van Veen grab sampling was conducted to characterize the composition and structure of the benthic polychaete community inhabiting the shellfish farming ground of a coastal bay system of Jiniu Bay (Korea). A total of 132 polychaete species were identified and the polychaetes accounted for about $80\%$ of overall abundance of benthic animals. There was little significant seasonal difference in densities (abundances) of polychaetes, Maximum biomass was obseued in summer (August) and minimum value was recorded in winter (February) and spring (May). Conversely, diversity and richness were lowest in summer, indicating a seasonal variability in the polychaetous community structure, The cluster analysis indicated that such a seasonal variability resulted mainly from the appearance of a few small, r-selected opportunists in spring and the tubiculous species of the family Maldanidae in summer. On the other hand, several indicator species for the organically enriched environments such as Capitelia capitata, Notoniashs Jatericeus and hmbrineris sp. showed high densities during all the study period. Density and biomass of univariate measures of community structure were significantly lower in the arkshell-farming ground of the southern area than in the non-farming sites of the bay, A similar general tendency was also found in the spatial distributions of species diversity and richness. Principal component analysis revealed the existence of different groups of benthic assemblages between the arkshell-farming ground and non-farming sites, The lack of colonization of r-selected opportunists and/or tubiculous species in the former ground seemed to contribute to the spatial differences in the composition and structure of the polychaetous communities. Although finer granulometric composition and high sulfide concentration in sediments of the arkshell-farming ground and low salinity in the northern area were likely to account for parts of the differences, other environmental variables observed were unlikely. The spatial distribution of polychaetes in Jiniu Bay may be rather closely related to the sedimentary disturbance by selection of shells for harvesting in spring.

Reference Values and Water quality Assessment Based on the Regional Environmental Characteristics (해역의 환경특성을 고려한 해양환경 기준설정과 수질등급 평가)

  • For the development of reference values and evaluation of water quality in various environmental conditions, we divided the coastal region around Korean peninsular into 5 distinctive ecological regions based on the influence of surface current, depth, tidal range, turbidity, and climate condition. We used national marine environment monitoring data collected by National Fisheries Research & Development Institute(NFRDI) from 2000-2009. For the reference values, we used maximum seasonal mean from 2000 to 2007 for DIN, DIP, and chlorophyll-a and minimum seasonal mean for secchi depth measured at stations without the influence of river runoff in each ecological regions. For the reference value of bottom dissolved oxygen saturation, we used minimum mean value of 90% calculated from minimal riverine influence stations of whole regions. We calculated enrichment score for each assessment criteria. The enrichment score of DIN, DIP, and Chlorophyll-a was 1 (=< reference value), 2 (< 110% of reference value), 3 (< 125% of reference value), 4 (< 150% of reference value), and 5 (> 150% of reference value). The enrichment score of DO saturation and Secchi depth was 1 (> reference value), 2 (> 90% of reference value), 3 (>75 % of reference value), 4 (> 50% of reference value), and 5 (< 50% of reference value). We calculated water quality index using weighted linear combination of five enrichment score for the comparison of whole regions. From the water quality index distribution calculated from all stations between 2000 and 2007 period, we classified into 5 grade based on the standard deviation calculated from total water quality index. We assigned grade very good(I), good(II), moderate(III), bad(IV), and very bad(V) when the water quality index was less than 23, minimum + 1 sd, +2 sd, +3 sd, and grater than minium+ 3 sd, respectively.
