Application of Wavelet Transform in Estimating Structural Dynamic Parameters by Vehicle Loading Test (차량재하시험에 의한 구조물 동특성 평가에 웨이블렛변환의 이용)

  • The vehicle loading test under the strict traffic control is generally carried out as a present practice in an evaluation process of the bearing capacity of a bridge. The quasi-static load test is recently proposed to mitigate the traffic condition of test, and analyze the disturbed acceleration time-history data of free vibration due to the ambient traffic on the bridge by Fourier transform to calculate only the natural frequencies of the bridge. The calculated frequencies have some errors due to the analysis technique as well as the influence of ambient traffic loads, and in addition to it is cumbersome to obtain the free vibration data during a quasi-static load test. In this study, the wavelet transform technique using Morlet wavelet is used to analyze the acceleration data recorded during a quasi-static load test on a bridge and calculate the natural frequencies and the modal damping ratios of the bridge. The study results show that the wavelet transform technique is a reliable and reasonable method to analyze test data and obtain the natural frequencies and the modal damping ratios of a bridge regardless of the data types i.e. free or forced vibrations.

  • Tail-wing, gondola and thrust motor mount(EMS) were built by carbon/glass fiber composites. Structural strength & stiffness was verified by specimen tests. Static strength tests for each structural components were conducted separately. Boundary conditions are specially designed for each components to simulate exact joint conditions. Tests shows no detriment deformation at 100% DLL and no failure at 150% DLL.

Analysis on Reactions of Full-Scale Airframe Static Structural Test (항공기 전기체 정적구조시험의 반력 분석)

  • This study addresses analysis on reactions which are induced in restraint system for airframe full-scale static structural test. This system restraints 6 degrees of freedom of a test article. It is valuable to study evaluating test error through analysis on the reactions which include all errors in a test. It is required to calculate fistly right reactions for the evaluation. This study focuses on calculation of the right reactions. The reaction is represented by sum of nominal reaction(Rn) and testing error reactions(Rce, Rerr) and is analyzed by two steps (inital vs relative reaction) in this study. It would evaluate intrinsic error at 0%DLL and error induced from applying test load, separately. Based on analysis using test data of a full-scale static test(canard type aircraft), resultant force of Rces and Rce_rs are distributed within 82.8N while resultant force of Rerr_rs shows to increase upto max. 808N as load level increment. Such well distribution of the Rce within the small range is caused from TMF values characteristics which are well distributed within -30N~40N. Additionally, it is shown through qualitative analysis on three components(X0, Y0, Z0) of the relative reaction(Rerr_r) that the reactions must be calculated with considering deformation of test article to calculate correctly reactions. This study shows also that equations characterizing deformation of components of test article are required to calculate the correct reactions, the equations must include information which will be used to calculate movement of all loading points.

  • 2단 또는 3단형으로 설계되고 있는 KSLV-I 발사체의 단연결부는 직경의 변화에 따라 원뿔대(Truncated cone) 구조물이 필요하다. 원뿔대형 구조물이 발사체의 외피일 경우에는 일반적인 실린더형 동체와는 다르게 공력에 의한 버페팅(buffeting)과 공력가열 등이 추가적인 설계인자로 고려되어야 한다. 복합재료 샌드위치 구조물은 외피의 굽힘 강성이 크고, 일체성형으로 실린더형 혹은 원뿔대형 구좁물을 쉽게 제작할 수 있어 단연결부에 적용되고 있다. 또한 위성어댑터(Payload Adapter)등에도 사용되어 우주발사체에는 매우 일반적인 구조물이다. 복합재료 샌드위치 구조물의 제작과 정적시험을 통하여 구조 특성을 알아보았다. 일체형 샌드위치 구조물의 효율을 높이기 위해서는 프레임과의 체결부를 효율적으로 설계하여야 하며 하중의 종류에 따라서 면재의 적층각도가 중요함을 알 수 있었다.

Static Behavior of Bi Prestressed Concrete Girders (프리스트레스트 콘크리트거더의 정적거동 평가)

  • This study was performed to estimate the workability and the static behavior for Bi Prestressed Concrete Girder(Bicon girder) which could introduce effectively prestressed forces into concrete girders. A bicon girder is manufactured by means of introducing pure bending moment that prestress simultaneously the compressive member(steel bar) and the tensile member(steel tendon). Static test was executed for 20m railway bridge girder specimen and evaluated whether pure bending moment was introduced or not, and the behaviors after cracking, and at the ultimate load. Test results showed that a bicon girder had the enough safety in the introduction of pure moment, the serviceability, and the ultimate behavior.

An Experimental Study of Fatigue and Static Behavior for Composite Deck Member (복합재료 바닥판 부재의 정적 및 피로거동에 관한 시험적 연구)

  • It is required to accumulate experimental datum that make the theories easy to general technicians in order to use composite material widely on construction field. Therefore, we intend to present base technologies that evaluate static and fatigue performance according to the FRP deck section and offer the basis datum for FRP deck analyses and the design standards. As results of static tests, it can be shown that specimen with fabric direction has higher rigidity than that with normal to fabric direction and convergence for the datum. Due to this reason, it has more stable behavior by structural characteristics of matrix arrangement during destruction. For the fatigue tests, we found that by increasing the number of test repetition, test specimen with fabric direction had an crack just before the destruction, and the contact surface was detached.

  • Corrosion of steel in the reinforced concrete structures is one of the main reason of degradation. It causes that lifetime of structures is shortened and maintenance cost is increased. And it also causes degradation of structures like bridges which are under repeated load. So, many research have been performed about FRP rebar. But there are few research about FRP rebar under fatigue. This study is to examine flexural characteristic of concrete beam reinforced with FRP(CFRP, GFRP) rebar under static and fatigue for considering the application. The specimens that used in this study are designed by ACI 440.1R-06 and reinforced with CFRP(CR) or GFRP(GR) overly. In the result of static bending test, all specimens were failed at compression phase. In fatigue test, the fatigue stress level was 60%, 70% or 80% of the static bending strength. Most of the specimens seemed to be compressive failure, but CR-60 and CR-70 specimens were failed with rupturing of tension bar.

  • Conventional PSC I type girders were adversely affected by the self - weight of concrete, anchorage, prestressing. In order to overcome this problem, PSC girder was constructed with a hollow in the web and developed a hollow web PSC type I girder which is applicable to 50 - 70m span by multistage stressing and then actually long span hollow web PSC girder bridge was constructed. In this study, the results of Static Load Test and the Finite Element Analysis of the hollow web PSC I girder bridges were compared and analyzed, and the Load Carrying Capacity and safety of PSC girder bridges were evaluated. The Static Load Test and the numerical analysis results of this bridge showed similar tendency and the behavior of the hollow web PSC I girder was well simulated. The entire girders of the bridges had sufficient Load Carrying Capacity under the live load design condition and the bridges satisfied the safety and confirmed the appropriateness of the construction.

  • Airframe structure development of the 35 kg class 'Disaster and Public Safety Multicopter' UAV is described in this paper. To reduce the airframe weight, T-700 grade CFRP composite material was used, and the fuselage was designed with the semi-monocoque structure and plate installed with the control and communication devices designed in a sandwich structure. The specimen tests for the laminated plate and pipe were conducted to verify the strength and stiffness of the designed parts. The stacking sequence of composite materials was determined by the static strength and vibration analysis, and landing gear strut was designed by the nonlinear analysis with decent speed and ground clearance requirements. The static strength test was performed to evaluate the structural integrity and to verify the landing gear behavior.
