This paper proposes an algorithm for efficient behaviors of boids which freely move and have no predefined position. By finding the kNN and computing the value of behavioral characteristic of a boid approximately, the proposed algorithm improves the conventional spatial partitioning one. To do this, this paper defines and uses the representative boid which has the average direction and position for a group of boids. The proposed algorithm was implemented and compared with the conventional one experimentally. The results of the experimental comparisons show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional one about $-5{\sim}130%$ in terms of the ratio of the number of rendering frames per the second.

This study analyzed the crafting contents that have a great influence on the communication activation in MMORPG. Four situations were set by combining the factors that would affect the game world. The set of behaviors selected by the virtual player according to each situation is defined as a player scenario. As a result, we found problems such as bias of contents using and barriers of skill growth. This study is meaningful in that it presents a basic analysis method appling at the MMORPG developing and reveals the factors to be considered in the designing crafting contents.

국내외 라우터 시장은 급속한 성장추세에 있으며, 이와 같은 추세를 볼때 2004년 국내 라우터 시장은 2조원 정도의 규모가 될것으로 예상되어지고 있다. 하지만 라우터의 핵심 부품이라 칭할수 있는 라우팅 프로토콜은 현재 외국의 와인드리버사나 라우터웨어사에서 상용 라우팅 S/W를 수입하고 있는 실정이며, 고가의 라이센스 비용을 지불하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서 다루고 있는 OSPF의 경우 AREA 간의 라우팅을 위하여 쓰이고 있으며 RFC 2328에 그 스펙이 정의되어져 있다. 여기서는 라우팅 프로토콜을 개발할 경우, 개발한 후에 기능 시험을 해야 하며 이들 기능 시험을 위한 시험 시나리오의 생성, 시험 환경의 구축. 적합성 시험 기술 등에 대한 연구 및 개발이 필요하다. 라우팅 프로토콜 시험 환경의 개발은 OSPF 프로토콜을 구현할 경우 프로토콜 기능을 시험할 수 있는 환경을 구축한다. 본 논문의 주요 내용은 라우팅 프로토콜인 OSPF 라우팅 프로토콜에 대한 시험 시나리오 생성 기술 연구, 시험 환경 구축, 시험 시나리오에 따른 프로토콜 적합성 시험, 망 적응 시험 수행이다. 이러한 기능들을 수행하기 위해 OSPF을 위한 시험 환경을 개발하고 단위 기능들에 대한 시험을 수행 한다.

Hydrodynamic ram of aircraft fuel tanks is one of main ballistic battle damages of an aircraft and has great importance to airframe survivability design. Basic concept, physics and research history of hydrodynamic ram are investigated. The penetration and internal detonation of a simple fuel tank and ICW(Intermediate Complexity Wing) are analyzed by computational method. Structural rupture and fluid burst are analytically realized using general coupling and coupling surface interaction. The results such as fluid pressure, tank stress and displacement are shown and future research chances are suggested based on the study.

This paper proposes an optimal replacement policy following the expiration of a free renewing replacement-non-renewing minimal repair warranty. To do so, the free renewing replacement-non-renewing minimal repair warranty is defined and then the maintenance model following the expiration of free renewing replacement-non-renewing minimal repair warranty from the user's point of view is studied. As the criteria to determine the optimality of the maintenance policy, we consider the expected cost rate per unit time from the user's perspective. We derive the expressions for the expected cycle length and the expected total cost to obtain the expected cost rate per unit time. Finally, the numerical examples are presented for illustrative purposes.

Detailed chemical compositions of thirteen montmorillonites and their thermal behaviour by differential thermal and thermogravimetric analysis have been studied. Comparison of structural formulae with experimental results by thermal analysis gave evidence of that both substitutions of Fe for Al in octahedral and Al for Si in tetrahedral positions appear to affect dehydroxylation temperature, which is valid for the present samples. Further detailed study of this topic using well-known samples which have various degree of substitution will be justified.

The production techniques of a gilt-bronze buckle which was presumably a product of the Koryo dynasty were investigated. The X-ray area map indicates that the gilt layer was made by gilt-bronze method. EDS analysis shows that the gilt layer contains copper as well as gold. The microstructure of a textile adhered to the back of the buckle reveals that the material is woven hemp. Triangular and semicircular chisels were used to engrave patterns. After the boundaries of the patterns were engraved with triangular chisels the internal regions were carved with semicircular patterns. The procedure and the shape of the chisels were also investigated.

Recommendation ITU-R S.1062 specifies the performance of digital satellite systems. The performance objectives were given in terms of bit error probability divided by the average number of errors per burst versus percentage of time. This performance objective is highly dependent on the forward error correction(FEC) coding schemes used in the system. This implies that we need an effective way of estimating the error performance of a system by the given FEC scheme. In this paper, we derive theoretical formula to estimate performance measure of digital satellite systems defined in Recommendation ITU-R S.1062. We demonstrate various estimation results, and verify them by comparing to the simulation results.

We developed a SIFG (Slice-based Information Graph), which modelled the information flow on program on the basis of the information flow of data tokens on data slices. Then we defied a SCM (Slice-based complexity measure), which measured the program complexity by measuring the complexity of information flow on SIFG. SCM satisfied the necessary properties for complexity measure proposed by Briand et al. SCM could measure not only the control and data flow on program but also the physical size of program unlike the existing measures.

In general, Q&A system retrieves passages by matching terms of a question in order to find an answer to the question. However it is difficult for Q&A system to find a correct answer because too many passages are retrieved and matching using terms is not enough to rank them according to their relevancy to a question. To alleviate this problem, we introduce a topic for a sentence, and adopt it for ranking in Q&A system. We define a set of person-related topic class and a clue expression which can indicate a topic of a sentence. A topic classification system proposed in this paper can determine a target topic for an input sentence by using clue expressions, which are manually collected from a corpus. We explain an architecture of the topic classification system and evaluate the performance of the components of this system.
