The Historical Understanding of the U. S. Secret Records Management (미국의 비밀기록관리체제에 대한 역사적 이해)

  • The U. S. government has a long history to classify and manage governmental records which are created, collected, and preserved for itself. During the colonial period before the independence, the U. S. mostly practiced the maintenances of secret records and restrictions of access to the records following a long convention without any specific legal authority. Since establishment of the U. S. Constitution, the government had kept secret records on the basis of constitutional authority. However, the U. S. government began to take shape the secret records management system when it participated in the World War I, which required the system to reflect the needs in reality to manage drastic increases in important military and foreign relation documents. The World War II made the U. S. government strengthen its secret records management system, and its conception of secret records management system at that time has sustained until now. It can be said that the current secret records management system of the U. S. government continues to be managed by constitutional authorities and the executive orders which are opt to change. This article intends to review the secret records management system of the U. S. from the initial history of the U. S. to the Cold War. To understand its system of secret management, the paper investigates the U. S. secret records management history by dividing into three periods: the period of establishment of its tradition(the Colonial era~just before the WWI); the period of taking shape of its system (the WWI~the WWII); and the period of current conception of its system. The criteria of these divisions are created based on the differences of the laws relevant to the secret records and the application methods of secret management system in reality.

A Study on the Information Seeking and Utilization of College Students at the Time of Their Political Decision Making During Elections (정치적 의사결정이 필요한 선거기간동안 대학생의 정보 탐색 및 활용에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated how college students seek and use information sources at the time of their decision making (especially during elections on this study). More than 360 students in 12 colleges located in Seoul were randomly selected and participated in this study. The survey asked them what kind of information sources they use at the time of their decision making as well as when they use information as usual. Several criteria for information evaluation were adopted to analyze information attributes and information seeking behavior of the population. Compare to the previous studies, Internet resources are more used than ever, information credibility and authority affected more to the population's political decision making. Additional examinations were executed to see deeper story of their information seeking at the end.

Analysis of Inquisitive Tendency of 2009 Revised Middle School Informatics Textbooks (2009 개정 중학교 정보 교과서의 탐구적 경향 분석)

  • In this paper, we study the inquisitive tendency in informatics textbooks for middle school students. These textbooks were written in 2009, and have been adopted in 2013 as part of the curriculum. The research is based on six textbooks, which passed qualification tests, and is mainly focused on the section 'composition and movement of information equipment', which covers contents for the student's major field of study. Romey analysis was employed to analyze inquisitive tendency in four sections - text, data, activity and evaluation. The results illustrated that some textbooks were organized in a way that exhibited a low level of inquisitive tendency for students, and took an authoritative tone. The section 'activity' showed the highest level of inquisitive tendency and the 'text' showed the lowest level. Some sections in the textbooks were found to have zero Romey measures, which stress the need for improvement.

Evaluation of Internet Web-sites Providing Infant Health Related Information for Daycare Staffs (국내 인터넷 상의 보육시설 영유아 건강관련 웹사이트의 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate web-sites related to infant health at day-care centers. A total of 87 web-sites were ultimately selected through Internet search engines, and educare sites. The basis of assessment in which standards and items were amended for the assessment of health information in previously used, and purpose, content, pertinence, accuracy, confidence, utility, authority, interactivity and continuance was assessed. Though the total score were 32 point, mean score was relatively low, 20.39 point. The score of accuracy and authority was relatively low while that of confidence and interactivity was high. As a result, it was revealed that there were no specific infant health related web-site with reliability guaranteed. Therefore, there is a need to develop a web-site providing accurate health information for infant at day-care centers. It is expected that these results can be utilized as a data for developing reliable web-site related infant health.

Analysis of 'Basic Information Technology' Textbooks in Technical High Schools (공업계 고등학교 '정보 기술 기초' 교과서의 분석)

  • In this paper, both content analysis and Romey analysis were employed to analyze 'Basic Information Technology' textbooks in technical high schools. Not only was the content analysis employed to study the organization and contents of the textbooks, but also the Romey analysis was applied so as to determine inquisitive tendency on four factors - text, data, activity and evaluation. The results from content analysis showed that the total number of pages, reading material, the number of concepts introduced in each section, and the use of application software demonstrated a discrepancy among textbooks. Also, Romey analysis showed that while the section 'text' was written with relatively low inquiry tendency for its authoritative tone, two textbooks showed high inquisitive tendency for section 'activity'. Finally, based on the obtained results, the ways to improve 'Basic Information Technology' textbooks were proposed.

Images of Law and Reality in TV Legal Series: Focusing on (TV 법정 프로그램에 나타난 법 이미지와 현실구성: <실화극장-죄와 벌>을 중심으로)

  • Can law be combined with television entertainment programs? This paper explores the ways in which law systems and law culture are reflected in and reflect the television legal series. TV legal series, such as legal dramas and infotainment shows, provide platforms for the audiences, who otherwise have few opportunity in real life, to engage with legal systems in societies. Adopting loosely dramatized reality programs, these legal series not only entertain and inform audiences but also educate citizens. This paper combines analyses of theoretical debates on law and television with analysis of TV text. The result shows that , dramatized enactment based on true stories and criminal cases, may have an important ideological role in which fictionalized dramas mask the hard realities and authoritative legal systems. By doing so, TV legal shows play their roles not as mere symbolic representation but as powerful institutions that construct the image of law and reality.

Analyzing the Styles and Types of Math Learning for Middle School Students (중학생의 수학학습양식 및 유형 분석)

  • The constituents of math learning styles are information recognition and information processing in the cognitive domain and attitudes toward math learning and environments of math learning in the affective domain. Each of the constituents has two opposing styles; there are the visual style and verbal style in information recognition; and there are the whole style and analytical style in information processing. And as for attitudes toward math learning, there are two styles which are the authoritative and goal-oriented style and the practical and entertaining style. Also as for attitudes toward environments of math learning, there are two styles which are the interior-oriented style and exterior-oriented style. There can be classified into 16 types of mathematics learning by the combination of a total of 8 styles of mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference of the students from three middle schools located in Daegu Metropolitan City to the styles and types of mathematics learning.

A Study on the Impact of CIO Leadership Versatility on the IS Performance (CIO의 리더십 균형성이 IS 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper studied the impact of CIO leadership on the IS performance. The survey was developed to measure the relationship between CIO leadership style and the IS performance. The study shows that the differences in CIO leadership style along the two dimensions of goals and modes do not cause a statistically meaningful difference in business efficiency, one of the IS performance. Contrary to the existing studies that suggest a balanced leadership is effective, this study illustrates that strategic leadership and enabling leadership are more effective in the aspects of targets and manners respectively. This study does contribute to the introduction and utilization of CIO: unlike existing studies on leadership, it proposes a new approach to classifying leadership style based on the styles exhibited by CIO's flexibly from one situation to another. It will provide companies considering appointing CIO's or already using CIO's with insights into effective CIO role. It is important to provide CIOs with position and authority to exhibit their leadership flexibly.

Effect of Perceived Nurse's Communication Style on Admitted Children Mother's Stress and Coping (지각된 간호사의 의사소통 스타일이 입원 환아 어머니의 스트레스 및 대처노력에 미치는 영향)

  • The basic data will be provided for increasing the coping efforts and for decreasing the improvement of nursing services and stress in mothers of hospitalized child by examining the effects of the nurse's communication styles on the stress and coping efforts in mothers of hospitalized child. This study is the correlation research, and the data collection was conducted from September 2013 until December, and it was based on 196 mothers of hospitalized child in the pediatrics ward of E hospital in D city 196. The data collected was analyzed by the frequency, percentage average, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis method. As the result of the study, about the effects of the nurse's perceived communication styles on the stress and coping efforts in mothers of hospitalized child, the nurse's non-authoritative communication style had the biggest effects on the stress, and the explanation power of those variables was 30.1%. In conclusion, in order to decrease the stress in mothers of hospitalized child and to enhance coping efforts, the nurses should sublate the authoritarian attitude and they should show the communication skills of friendly attitude and communication skills of the informative attitude. These communication skills are needed to be maintained and enhanced continually through the systematic communication enhancement program.

An Analysis of the Contents of OASIS, the National Web Archive in Korea (웹 아카이브 OASIS 수집 콘텐츠의 분석)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the characteristics and current status of OASIS, a web archive, developed and operated by the National Library of Korea. From December 2013 to November 2014, an analysis of a numerical growth and subject distribution of 55,581 websites archived at OASIS shows many problems in quality, including an overwhelming proportion of 'Social Science' and its subclass 'Politics', consequential lack of balance in subject distribution, lack of authority or scholarly value of some contents, unclear application of selection criteria for personal creators/publishers, and inaccurate and overlapping statistics. Despite an impressive growth in quantity, immediate improvement of selection policies and quality control is needed.
