This study investigated to understand how the East and the West seek information in terms of their cultural differences. It is designed to explain their cultural differences how they seek particular information when they need it in order to solve a problem in their hands. Survey and simple interview were conducted to compare their differences by sex and ages as well as cultural backgrounds. A total of 72 visitors from 9 countries were randomly selected and participated in this study. The study result shows there are different information seeking behaviors according to their cultural differences. Collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0.

In this study, we have acquired the related data of the important culture assets in this country by using close range photogrammetry and GSIS. Also, we have generated database of curtural assets and we have been developing culture assets information system to manage the data effectively. As result of this study, we could facilely operate this system by converting dulistic management to unitary. Therefore, we will act of a part of rearing for effect of many important cultural properties and the domestic information industry from this study.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the problems of regional culture and tourism websites and to seek for the ways to improve those websites since the culture and tourism information websites of local government do not provide enough contents and service. This research is based on following 4 indicators, content evaluation, usability evaluation, design evaluation and interactivity evaluation which are used to evaluate tourism homepages of municipality by Korea Tourism Organization. The result of this research came out with the issue that regional cultural tourism websites lack user-oriented contents. Therefore, regional culture and tourism websites need to provide the custom-made information such as setting a free tourist route, complementing reservation system and diversifying the range of search.

The purpose of this study is to seek the methods of constructing a cultural information system based on GIS. It is impossible for regional culture to be formed apart from its surrounding space, so a study of culture should be based on realizing the features of its space. It is important to note that the elements composing a culture complicatedly interact with each other in their function and continuously change. Also they are interrelated in space and plentiful in their amount. Nevertheless, those studies practised so far in relation to culture and constructing cultural database are too limited in establishing cultural area or community life area required to recognize the regional identity So it is now essential that we should study the methods of cultural expression surpassing objective historical and cultural site maps instead of simple maps depicting historical remains or sites. From this viewpoint, this study tries to find various cultural phenomena in relation to their space through seeking the methods of constructing the cultural database model using XML. In addition, this study tries to construct a base for increasing the utilization of information in making the cultural contents.

Information Culture Index (ICI) is the quantitative value that represents people's information literacy levels. Also, it diagnoses the people's knowledge, ethics, emotion, and practice synthetically. As the Internet and cell phone addiction have been increasing when people access information on the web recently, it is necessary to analyze the meaning of the ICI from the Internet and cell phone addiction perspectives and to confirm if it goes well in the right direction. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of the people who have high ICIs. At the same time, we perform the statistical analysis combining ICIs with the Internet and the cell-phone addiction levels. In particular, the meaning of the Information Practicing factor, which is one of the ICI factors, is examined. By doing these, we confirm if the current ICI works correctly or not, and propose a better way for measuring ICIs. In order to do these, we survey and analyze data with basic statistical methods and structural equation model.

This treatise discuss the possibility and prospect for developing Sijo Munhwa information system. The contents of it is summarized as follows. 1. We must gather and input correctly materials including original texts to develope Sijo Munhwa information system as linguistic data. 2. We must consider TEI(Text Encoding Initiative) and thesauras when we process the database. 3. 2 form the ground work of building Topic Map. 4. It's very important to link Sijo Munhwa information system as art material with visual or auditory images in three dimensions completely.

최근에 IT융합에 대한 관심이 높아지는 시점에서 문화지도DB, 전자문화지도와 같이 학제 간 연구의 성격을 띠는 학문에 대한 연구 또한 활발하다. 전자문화지도는 기본적으로 다양한 문화적 양상을 점, 선, 면, 기호 등을 활용해 지도위에 나타내며 사용자는 주제, 공간, 시간 값의 조작을 통해 세 가지 값이 연계된 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전자문화지도 기반의 학술지도를 구현한다. 본 시스템은 효율적인 학문동향 파악 및 학술 정보제공 시스템으로 활용 가능할 것으로 판단되며 세부적으로 인문, 지역학을 연구할 수 있는 방안으로 활용하고자 한다.
