Analyzing the relationship between employee characteristics and performance in call center organizations: integration of social network analysis and repertory grid technique (조직 내 사회적 특성과 개인적 특성이 콜센터 업무 성과에 미치는 영향 분석: 사회연결망과 RGT를 중심으로 한 A사 사례 연구)

  • Current performance evaluation of call center employees is dependent on the number of calls they have resolved, regardless of the individual and social characteristics of employees. However, since call center tasks are highly customer-oriented and emotional laborious, individual capability as well as social characteristics of employees is critical to performance. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between employees' individual/social characteristics and their performance. To extract individual characteristics, a repertory grid technique was employed, whereas social network analysis was conducted to extract the social characteristics of employees. Using individual and social characteristics as input variables, multiple regression was conducted to analyze the effect of each variable on performance. As a result, in-degree centrality of dining network, initiative characteristics, open characteristics, and enjoyment of studying were determined to be important variables for performance. This study is expected to be used in both performance management and human resource management of call center practices.

Building Knowledge Graph of the Korea Administrative District for Interlinking Public Open Data (공공데이터의 의미적 연계를 위한 행정구역 지식 그래프 구축)

  • Open data has received a lot of attention from around the world. The Korean government is also making efforts to open government data. However, despite the quantitative increase in public data, the lack of data is still pointed out. This paper proposes a method to improve data sharing and utilization by semantically linking public data. First, we propose a knowledge model for expressing administrative districts and their semantic relationships in Korea. An administrative district is an administrative unit that divides the territory of a nation, which is a unit of politics, according to the purpose of the state administration. The knowledge model of the administrative district defines the structure of the administrative district system and the relationship between administrative units based on the Local Autonomy Act. Second, a knowledge graph of the administrative districts is introduced. As a reference information to link public open data at a semantic level, some characteristics of a knowledge graph of administrative districts and methods for linking heterogeneous public open data and improving data quality are addressed. Finally, some use cases are addressed for interlinking between the knowledge graph of the administrative districts and public open data. In particular, national administrative organisations are interlinked with the knowledge graph, and it demonstrates how the knowledge graph can be utilised for improving data identification and data quality.

The SOC Building Strategy Planning of North Korea through Analysis of Domestic and Foreign Case (국내·외 사례분석을 통한 북한 SOC 구축 지원 전략)

  • The study proposed a strategy for supporting North Korea's SOC construction in the future by reviewing domestic and foreign cases. According to the literatureanalysis, we developed a candidate list of technology for SOC of North Korea in terms of Construction Management / economy sectors. The category is North Korea SOC construction support, and the sub-category is North Korea SOC construction support program. The implementation procedures included the following six steps: Preparation, Support for Establishing Construction Industry Base, Support for Establishing Business Management Base, Support for HR Management Base, Business Model Establishment/Expansion, and Monitoring of Management Result. Lastly, we developed twenty-five candidates of detailed technology. In the future, it is necessary to decide a methodology for project implementation by each scenario after selecting a study area, and to develop a more specified scenario.

  • Today, the phase of modem war is very different from past war. That is, the winning of war depends on the ability to obtain information and high technology. The purposes of this research are to propose an effective R&D governance model in national defense sector and to present R&D strategy for obtaining core national defense technology. As a part of collaborative innovation, the strategy to exchange R&D results actively between the defense sector and the private sector will be discussed. The main contribution of this research is dearly defining the concept of R&D governance in national defense sector and applying it to an actual case. The national defense R&D governance model proposed in this paper is based on the characteristics of national defense R&D which are different from other industries. The analysis of business success factors for national defense R&D through the T-50 case study is presented in detail. The T-50 case study reveals the importance of strategic intent, core technology knowledge base, organizational structure, and project management.

Spillover Effects among Chinese, Korean, and the U.S. Stock Markets -Comparison of the two financial crises- (아시아 외환위기와 글로벌 금융위기에서의 중국, 한국, 미국주식시장 사이의 spillover효과에 관한 연구)

  • This paper explores the mean and volatility spillover effects among Chinese, Korean, and the U.S. stock markets during the Asian and global financial crises. We found that, during the Asian Financial crisis, there was no mean spillover effect to the Chinese stock markets. However, there were reciprocal mean spillover effects between the U.S. and the Korean market. This implies that Korean market was open, while Chinese market was secluded from the international financial market at that time. The negative volatility spillover effect between the U.S. and China reinforces this finding. During the global financial crisis, there was reciprocal mean spillover effect between the U.S. and China, and between the U.S. and Korea. This may reflect the fact that Chinese market has opened to the international financial market. However, the volatility spillover effect does not exist between China and the U.S., while the U.S. and Korea has reciprocal volatility spillover effect to each other. These findings may imply that China is still in the process of opening her stock market to international investors.

  • Today, Korean medical community faces rapid changes in medical environment due to opening of medical market, more emphasis on making profit and introduction of private medical insurance. Therefore, it is apparent that around, major university hospitals, efforts are being made to adapt to such changes by establishing mid to long range strategic plans. We want to keep pace with changing times and diverse demand of patients by introducing state of the art system, utilizing Ubiquitous technologies for improvements. In doing so, we want to distinguish our hospital services from others. However, Hospital Information System that integrates ubiquitous technologies are introduced in limited basis due to problems like standardization and limits on medical use etc. Particularly, problems like absence of tag design suitable for medical environment, compatibility and extension issue with RFID system need to be addressed on application of RFID technologies. In order to solve such problems, this paper implemented RFID tag system, RFID-SIP UA program, location tracking program. This paper provides a comprehensive basic review of RFID and SIP model suggests the evolution direction of further advanced RFID application service. The design of RFID-SIP application offers advance RFID system with drawback and reduction search time of medical object. so there is a improvement of hospital information system in ubiquitous environment.

Subjectivity of Parents in Refusal of Childhood Vaccination: A Q-methodology Approach (자녀 예방접종 거부 부모의 주관성: Q 방법론적 접근)

  • Purpose: Despite the well-known public health benefits of vaccination, increasing public concern about the safety of childhood vaccinations has led some parents to refuse or hesitate having their children immunized. The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivity of parents toward refusal of childhood vaccination. Methods: Q-methodology, in which subjective viewpoints are explored and analyzed using a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques, was used. Thirty-five participants were asked to rank 42 statements on diverse issues of childhood vaccination according to a continuous 9-point scale ranging from -4 for strongly disagree to +4 for strongly agree. Collected data was analyzed using the PC-QUANAL program. Results: The results revealed three discrete groups of parents in the refusal of children's immunization: type I, distrust; type II, concern about side effects, and type III, belief that vaccinations are unnecessary. Conclusion: Special nurse counselors who can provide correct information about vaccination based on the three types should be part of the government policy. Customized education programs to shift viewpoints should be also redeveloped according to the results in this study.

Green-Tea Purchase Choice Attributes in Metropolitan Area (수도권 차(茶)소비자의 구매선택속성)

  • 차는 세계에서 가장 오랜 역사를 가지고 있는 음료로 건강에 대한 관심증가와 함께 음용량이 꾸준히 증가하는 추세이다. 그러나 국내 차 산업은 중국이나 일본 등에 비해 가격 품질경쟁력, 상품개발 면에서 크게 뒤떨어져 있는 실정이며, 향후 차시장도 전면적인 시장개방의 위협에 직면해 있어 차 산업의 발전을 위해서는 경쟁력 있는 수출전략과 함께 국내산업 유지를 위한 전략도 모색해야 한다. 본 연구는 차 소비자의 구매 선택속성을 분석한 것이다. 수도권에 거주하는 20세 이상 남녀 소비자를 대상으로 총 220부의 질문지를 배부하여 최종적으로 189부를 분석하였다. 전체 조사대상자는 여자가 155명(82.0%)이었으며, 연령은 20대가 29명(15.3%), 30대가 52명(27.5%), 40대가 56명(29.6%), 50대 이상은 52명(27.5%)이었다. 교육수준은 대학교졸/재가 91명(48.2%), 으로 가장 많은 비율을 차지했으며, 직업은 회사원/공무원이 59명(31.2%), 주부가 59명(31.2%)으로 가장 많은 비율을 차지했다. 월평균 소득은 200만원~300만원 미만이 57명(30.2%)으로 가장 많은 비율을 차지했다. 조사대상자의 차 소비 특성으로는 잎차와 티백, 가루차를 포함해 연평균 차 구매량이 '1~3통'이라고 응답한 사람이 73명(38.6%)으로 가장 높게 나타났고, '4~6통'이 39명(20.6%), '1통 미만'이 32명(16.9%), '6~10통'은 24명(12.7%), '10통 이상'은 21명(11.1%)으로 나타났다. 차를 마시는 장소는 '사무실이나 학교'가 100명(52.9%)으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, '집'은 83명(43.9%), '녹차전문점이나 찻집'은 6명(3.2%)으로 나타났다. 차를 마시는 상황은 '혼자 마신다'가 72명(38.1%)으로 가장 높게 나타났다. '친구와 만날 때나 사교모임 시'는 68명(36.0%), '가족과 함께 대화 시'는 31명(16.4%), '사업상대를 만날 때'는 18명(9.5%)으로 나타났다. 차를 음용하는 이유는 '편안한 대화를 하는데 도움이 되기 때문'이 65명(34.4%)으로 가장 높게 나타났고, '건강에 좋은 웰빙 음료이기 때문'은 53명(28.0%), '기호음료로서 맛과 향이 좋기 때문'은 42명(22.2%), '정신을 맑게 해주기 때문'은 21명(11.1%), '갈증해소에 좋기 때문'은 8명(4.2%)으로 나타났다. 차 구입 시 정보를 얻는 곳은 '주위사람들'이 77명(40.7%)으로 가장 높았고, '신문이나 잡지, TV 등'은 66명(34.9%), '판매원이나 시음을 통해서'는 33명(17.5%), '인터넷'이 13명(6.9%)으로 나타났다. 차소비자들이 가장 중요하게 여기는 속성은 맛(4.31)이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 그 다음이 향(4.12), 브랜드(3.84), 가격(3.76), 생산지역(3.75), 발효정도(3.72), 색(3.68), 채엽시기(3.69), 포장(3.66), 제조방법(3.56) 순으로 나타났다.

The Self-regulating Fire Prevention System in Korea: with the Focus on the Role of Insurance System (자율예방체계의 구축 -규제개혁의 차원에서 보험의 역할을 중심으로-)

  • This paper's purpose is three-folded: modeling the self-regulating fire prevention system, developing a packet of practical fire prevention measures and regulations, and reviewing the applicability of fire insurance system in Korea as a main components of the self-regulating fore prevention system. The so called self-regulating fire prevention system is defined as a grand national fire prevention framework based on and promoted by the vitality and creativeness of the market (or private sector). This drastically contrasts with the existing government-led fire prevention system in Korea. The self-regulating fire prevention system has three grounds: the principle of self-responsibility, the redefinition of the fire service as a public goods, and the principle of self-selection. It seems natural that the self-regulating fire prevention system requires the function of fire insurance institution as a pivoting mechanism providing individual decision makers with a system of incentives, resulting in rational behaviors in the part of each individuals and in the well-balanced fire prevention network in the part of the overall public. In this regard, this pilfer examines the institutions and performance of the fire insurance industry in Korea and reviews the limitation of the industry as an instant replacement mechanism of the current government-led fire prevention system in Korea.

Determination Method of Security Threshold using Fuzzy Logic for Statistical Filtering based Sensor Networks (통계적 여과 기법기반의 센서 네트워크를 위한 퍼지로직을 사용한 보안 경계 값 결정 기법)

  • When sensor networks are deployed in open environments, all the sensor nodes are vulnerable to physical threat. An attacker can physically capture a sensor node and obtain the security information including the keys used for data authentication. An attacker can easily inject false reports into the sensor network through the compromised node. False report can lead to not only false alarms but also the depletion of limited energy resource in battery powered sensor networks. To overcome this threat, Fan Ye et al. proposed that statistical on-route filtering scheme(SEF) can do verify the false report during the forwarding process. In this scheme, the choice of a security threshold value is important since it trades off detection power and energy, where security threshold value is the number of message authentication code for verification of false report. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy rule-based system for security threshold determination that can conserve energy, while it provides sufficient detection power in the SEF based sensor networks. The fuzzy logic determines a security threshold by considering the probability of a node having non-compromised keys, the number of compromised partitions, and the remaining energy of nodes. The fuzzy based threshold value can conserve energy, while it provides sufficient detection power.
