PCB Ground Structure Improvement for Radiation Noise Reduction (방사 잡음 감소를 위한 인쇄회로기판의 접지 구조 개선)

  • With the growth of high speed circuit, unwanted system noise is increased and multipoint ground is used to reduce this noise. PCB screw ground structure has radiation noise by ground loop between screws. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we proposed improved PCB ground structure. Proposed structure improves noise absorption by using microwave absorber and conductive copper tape. We measured radiation PCB noise in the range of 1 ㎓ to 3 ㎓ to investigate proposed structure usefulness. From these results, under 2 ㎓ range proposed structure has noise reduction by 2.62 dBuV/m, which compared with screw ground.

Improvement of Reception Noise During Formation Flight of Aircraft (항공기 편대 비행 중 수신 잡음 개선 연구)

  • This paper presents improvement of the reception noise suppression method during formation flights of aircraft. Since aircraft communication equipment is very important for flight mission and safety to perform the functions of internal/external communications, it is required to implement noise-free, clean communication quality, and transmitting/receiving functions. Therefore, the FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) analysis and failure search were performed on the reception noise, and the internal noise of the intercom that affected the reception noise and the none-transmition phenomenon was identified. We changed the multiple grounds of the intercom to a single ground and applied an improved method of filtering the DC Offset voltage. As a result, the voice quality of the communication system of the aircraft was improved through the reduction of the reception noise during formation flights, and it was verified by ground and flight tests.

Electrical Noise Reduction in the Electromagnetic Shaker System using a Class-D Amplifier (Class-D 증폭기를 사용한 가진기 시스템의 전기적 잡음 감소)

  • Operation of an electromagnetic shaker system using a Class-D amplifier may cause unacceptable electromagnetic interference to another electronic system, requiring the user to take whatever steps are necessary to correct the interference. A differential amplifier in a Class-D amplifier is used to decrease the effect of a common-mode noise voltage in a shaker system. To prevent a ground loop, a transformer is inserted in another shaker system. These methods show reduction of the unwanted vibration which has occurred before. A transformer in a charge amplifier was used to prevent a ground loop in a shaker system using a Class-AB amplifier a few years ago, but it was susceptible of noise in a shaker system using a Class-D amplifier. Hence we corrected a ground loop between a charge amplifier and a vibration control/analysis system without a transformer. The usefulness of this approach is illustrated by the results of experiments.

  • 위성항법시스템의 안정적인 정보 제공의 요구사항은 점차 증가하고 있지만, 의도적인 전파교란 및 자연환경에 의하여 성능이 저하된다. eLoran 시스템은 위성항법시스템의 단점을 보완하기위한 대표적인 지상파항법시스템으로 고출력 신호로 의도적인 전파교란에 강인한 장점이 있다. eLoran 시스템에서 사용자는 E-field 또는 H-field 2가지 종류의 수신 안테나를 사용 환경에 따라 적합한 것을 사용한다. 접지가 필요없고 상대적으로 주변 전자장비의 잡음에 강인한 H-field안테나는 두 개의 루프로 구성되어 루프간의 위상과 이득차이로 일정한 원형의 지향성을 가지지 못한다. 그러므로 수신한 신호의 방향에 따라 측정치의 변화가 발생하므로 H-field 안테나를 사용시에는 수신하는 신호의 방향에 따른 오차를 제거해야한다. 본 논문에서는 H-field 안테나와 송신국간의 기하학적 방향오차에 따른 오차를 제거하기 위한 후처리 필터를 제안하였다. eLoran 모의 신호생성기를 활용하여 오차를 분석하고 모델링하여 제거하는 기법을 개발하였다. 제안한 기법을 검증하기 위하여 시뮬레이션과 차량실험을 통하여 오차를 확인하고 제거하여 성능향상을 확인하였다.

Study on Compensation Method of Anisotropic H-field Antenna (Loran H-field 안테나의 지향성 보상 기법 연구)

  • Although the needs for providing resilient PNT information are increasing, threats due to the intentional RFI or space weather change are challenging to resolve. eLoran, which is a terrestrial navigation system that use a high-power signal is considered as a best back-up navigation system. Depending on the user's environment in the eLoran system, the user may use one of E-field or H-field antennas. H-field antenna, which has no restriction on setting stable ground and is relatively resistant to noise of general electronic equipment, is composed of two loops, and shows anisotropic gain pattern due to the different measurement at the two loops. Therefore, the H-field antenna's phase estimation value of signal varies depending on its direction even at the static environment. The error due to the direction of the signal should be eliminated if the user want to estimate the own position more precisely. In this paper, a method to compensate the error according to the geometric distribution between the H-field antenna and the transmitting station is proposed. A model was developed to compensate the directional error of H-field antenna based on the signal generated from the eLoran signal simulator. The model is then used to the survey measurement performed in the land area and verify its performance.
