A Configuration method of RIO for the Assured Service in Differentiated Services (DiffServ 방식의 Assured Service를 위한 자원 할당 및 RIO 변수 설정 방안의 제안)

  • In this paper, we relatively differentiate maximum delay for each Assured Service subclass in Differentiated Services by allocating bandwidth to each subclass differently. To maximize the throughput for the In-profile traffic and the link utilization, we propose a Cofiguration method of RIO and the admission control criterion based on the buffer size determined by the network topology and the ratio of bandwidth allocated to each subclass. Simulation results show that the proposed method can calculate the capacity to guarantee the QoS for the Assured Service and maximize the throughput for the In-profile traffic and the link utilization by applying the RIO parameter values set through the proposed configuration method.

  • ATM 네트워크에서 다양한 트래픽을 특성과 QoS 요구사항을 갖는 멀티미디어 서비스의 종단간 품질을 만족시키면서 망 자원을 효율적으로 이용하기 위해서는 가상경로(virtual path : VP) 의 적절한 배치 및 대역 할당을 통한 논리적 망의 구성, 호 접속 시의 종적 경로 설정, 그리고 그와 연계된 효율적인 동적 대역 관리가 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 호가 시도될 때 논리적 망의 설계에서 설정된 가상경로의 대역으로 호의 품질 요구사항을 만족 시킬수 없거나 또는 미리 설정해 놓은 가상경로연결(VP Connection) 이 존재하지 않을 경우에 물리적 링크의 잔여용량을 기반으로 적절한 가상경로를 선택하여 용량을 재조정하기 위한 최적 관리 모델로서 MHR (Minimum Hop Route), MCR(Maximum Capacity Route), 그리고 MRCR (MaxMin Residual Capacity Route)방식을 제안하고 이에 대한 최적화 정식을 제안하였다. 제안된 각 최적화 모델에 대한 해를 노드의 수가 m인 네트워크에서 O(m2)의 복잡도로 구할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 최적화 모델이 망의 성능에 미치는 영향을 평균 호 차단률 평균 이용 링크의 수 , 그리고 노드 쌍간의 호 차단률의 분산등에 의해 망 운용의 효율성과 공평성등을 비교분석하였다.

  • 본 논문은 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)에서 2010 년부터 2015 년까지 5 년간에 걸쳐 개발 예정인 영어 교육용 대화 시스템 중 2011 년에 개발된 관광용 영어 교육용 대화 시스템 중 도시 관광 도메인을 대상으로 한 도시 관광용 영어 대화 시스템을 소개하는 것을 목표로 한다. 도시 관광용 영어 대화 시스템은 크게 대화 이해 모듈, 대화 관리 모듈, 대화 생성 모듈, 대화 모델링 구축/관리 모듈, 대화 지식 구축 도구로 구성된다. 도시 관광용 영어 대화 시스템 평가를 위해 평가자를 초급, 중급, 고급의 3 개 그룹으로 나누어 평가를 실시하였다. 평가자는 원격 웹 평가 도구에 접속하여 4 개의 대화 미션에 대해 영어로 대화 시스템과 대화를 실시하였으며 평가는 태스크 성공률로 측정되었다. 태스크 성공률은 82.5%로 측정되었다.

QoS Provisioning for Forced Inter-System Handover (강제 시스템간 핸드오버 시 QoS 보장 방안)

  • In the heterogeneous system of various wired or wireless network with IP-based backbone, the continuities of agreedon QoS for multimedia services should be guaranteed regardless of network types and terminal mobility through seamless vertical handover. This paper proposes a QoS provisioning mechanism called D-ISHO which guarantees the continuities of agreed-on QoS and seamless for multimedia services by considering both such characteristics as delay, loss rate and jitter per each service and such status as available band-width, call arrival rate and data transmission rate during the vertical handover. Simulation is done for performance analysis with the measure of handover failure rate and packet loss rate.

A Web Cache Algorithm for Small Organizations (소규모 기관을 위한 웹 캐쉬 알고리즘)

  • Most of the existing web caches are used in huge organizations. But many internet users belong to small organizations such as a venture company or a PC room. Users are in general in multiple window environments, and use several programs concurrently with rapid preference change within a relatively short period of time. We develop a network-path based algorithm. It organizes a cache according to the network paths of the requested URLs and builds a network cache farm where caches are logically connected with each other and each cache has its own preference over certain network paths. The algorithm has been implemented and tested in a real site. The performance results show that the new algorithm outperforms the existing algorithms in the hit ratio and response time dramatically with low cost.

  • Mechanical Relay (McR) is a relaying architecture to enable data communications, where it can endure the transportation delay and intermittent disconnection. Every kind of vehicular infrastructures can be readily utilized for the mechanical relaying in the manner of moving natures, which brings the most significant consequences compared to conventional relaying schemes. In this paper, we analyze the ergodic network throughput of McR in wireless line networks (WLN) to compare the results between employing McRs and direct multi-hopping through the users without McRs. We demonstrate the McR scheme that are not only Ve-SISO but also Ve-SIMO/MISO. The numerical results of ergodic network throughputs contribute to the trade-off relation depending on the speed v of McRs, intensity factors ${\lambda}_u$ and ${\lambda}_r$, and the methods of how McRs are utilized.

  • In IEEE 802.11e system providing differentiated services, there exist some problems as follows; collision probability increase due to the increase in the number of nodes by employing CSMA/CA transmission mode, transmission speed declining tendency towards the worst of it, which is caused by different transmission mode and decrease of TCP transmission rate as the result of the link occupancy by UDP when TCP shares the link with UDP by the TCP’s flow control characteristic. In this thesis, the initial minimum and maximum CW are set differently according to the number of connected nodes in the network to avoid collisions and TXOP is adjusted according to the channel state, in which ACs with low priority but better channel state will get gradually more chances to transmit leading to optimal channel capacity. Also, by allowing higher priority for ACK frames which control the TCP transmission, the flow control becomes better because that reduces the channel occupancy by UDP flow, and by this, fair transmission is obtained from the result of the more fair transmission and active resource allocation.

  • IEEE 802.11 wireless network supports control frames like RTS/CTS(Request To Send / Clear To Send). Because they is defend to frame collection problems. It helps to solve the frame collection problem but decreases the throughput rate. Also, control frame makes False Node Problem. This problem is makes to other wireless nodes don't work and don't find channels in the same cell and near cells. We proposed a reformed new control frame for efficiency throughput rate and solution of False Node Problem. New control frame is to have added to 4 bytes of channel detection ability at the RTS frames. Channel detection ability supported to check channel at the wireless node start to transmit data frame, We expect that channel detection ability make prevent False Node Problem for increase to access number to channel. We perform comparative analysis in terms of delay(sec) and load(bits/sec) with reform RTS/CTS method which proves the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • VDL(VHF Data Link) Mode E uses TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) based aeronautical communication technologies for airborne environments. In the VDL Mode E, aircraft uses RR(Reservation Requests) slot to request data slot. However, RR needs a long guard time, since aircraft communication spans a considerable distance. The more number of aircrafts causes a larger amount of guard times which can make a throughput decreased. In this paper, we propose an enhanced MAC to reduce the guard time by using the distance information of aircraft. The ground station sends management data including time stamp. And then all aircraft can measure their distance from the ground station.

  • 사회의 발달에 따라 전기 전자 통신설비에 대한 중요성 및 이용률이 커짐에 따라 전기사고 발생 시 파급되는 인적, 물적 피해 또한 급증하여 안정적인 전력공급이 필수적으로 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 수배전반 전기사고 사전 예방을 위해 전기 관리자가 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 전력설비의 상태를 실시간으로 감시할 수 있도록 구축한 스마트폰을 활용한 수배전반 종합 감시 시스템에 대하여 설명한다. 스마트폰을 활용한 수배전반 종합 감시 시스템은 크게 전력설비의 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있는 감시부분, 설비 데이터 분석을 통해 전력설비의 상태를 미리 예측하고 이상을 진단하는 진단부분, 그리고 승인된 관리자만 접속 및 관리가 가능하도록 하는 보안부분으로 구성하였다. 향후 스마트폰을 이용한 수배전반 종합 감시 시스템의 활용은 수배전반 전기 사고의 감소와 관리 효율 증대에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.
