An Essay on Human Resource Management and Personnel Economics - A Behavioral Scientist's Viewpoint - (인적자원관리와 인사경제학의 비교 - 행동과학자의 시각에서 -)

  • Traditional human resource management explains human characteristics with motivation, attitude, perception, value, etc., based upon behavioral science approach. And system approach is adopted in analyzing the interaction between people and the environment. However, personnel economics excludes social and psychological variables in the human choice models, and assumes very unrealistic and simple rational decision making process. For environmental variables, personnel economists considers only income and price. Traditional human resource management research model successfully explains the phenomenon for each specific situation, but lacks universality. On the other hand, personnel economics model is strict and analytical, but tends to distort the understanding of the results because of the unrealistic assumptions. These two academic fields may get benefits by introducing the other's research methodologies, theories, and ideas.

  • Because chronic pain disorder may has multiple causes or contributing factors, including physical, psychological, and socio-environmental variables, the treatment of patients with the disorder requires biopsychosocial approaches in a multidisciplinary setting. In treating chronic pain, it is important to address functioning as well as pain, and treatment should be to increase functional capacity and manage the pain as opposed to curing it. Therefore treatment goal should be adaptation to pain or minimizing pain with corresponding greater functioning. Treatment begins with the initial assessment, which includes evaluation of psychophysiologic mechanisms, operant mechanisms, and overt psychiatric comorbidity. Psychiatric treatment of the patients requires adherence to sound pharmacologic and behavioral principles. There are four categories of drugs useful to psychiatrist in the management of chronic pain patients : 1) narcotic analgesics, 2) nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs, 3) psychotropic medications, and 4) anticonvulsants, but antidepressants are the most valuable drugs in pharmnacotherpy for them. Psychological treatments tend to emphasize behavioral and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which are divided into self-management techniques and operant techniques. Psychodynamic and insight-oriented therapies are indicated to some patients with long-standing interpersonal dysfunction or a history of childhood abuse.

  • Due to the dramatic increase in usage of smart phones, mobile applications offer a promising public communication channel to effect behavioral change in areas such as energy saving. For this, identifying relationships between applications and behavioral change would be useful for public institutions to formulate more effective public communication strategies. Based on a design science approach, this study examines the effect of design factors of public service-oriented mobile applications such as personalization, accessibility, and representation richness on users' cognitive and affective attitudes. Their effects on behavioral outcome are also investigated. The results of the analysis show that most design factors contribute significantly to the cognitive and affective attitudes of users. In turn, cognitive attitudes affect users' behavioral change in terms of energy saving, while affective attitudes are positively associated with the average usage time of mobile applications and behavioral changes in terms of energy saving.

  • Marine accidents continue to occur every year due to human errors. The purpose of this study is to promote navigational safety by preventing ship collision accidents caused by human errors of behavior of navigators. There are two ways to manage human error caused by navigator's behavior. It is divided in individual approach and system approach, which is applied to situational awareness theory and Rasmussen's behavioral theory. This study investigated past marine accidents caused by human error and conducted experiments using ship handling simulators to identify these two behavioral characteristics. After analyzing two human error characteristics, we will propose a countermeasure in next study.

  • The following study to enhance children's creativity in the context of diverse cultures and ethnic groups, and utilizes various programs from different countries aimed at 5 year old children with the Nuri framework. The study also seeks to measure pre and post play behaviors, creativity levels, and thinking capabilities of the children, then compare these results with those from a control group. Analysis of the results indicates that children who experienced programs from various countries through a multicultural approach had much higher levels of fluency, adaptability, originality, and imaginative capabilities than children who had not experienced such programs. Among the children's creative play behaviors, intrinsic motive-magination, sensitivity-curiosity, longetivity-concentration, various forms of interest-challenge, and leadership-independence were all found to be significantly higher.

  • There are different perspectives on a function graph. For instance, a parabola is defined by movement of a ball in physics and by quadratic function in mathematics. This study deals with the turtle motion, which is local and intrinsic, and the construction of function graphs with mathematical experiments in a microworld. This paper concerns with a function graph which is in the curriculum or in the history of mathematics. In view of pre-calculus, we introduce activities of mathematization about formalizing of length and area of function graphs without knowledge of calculus.

  • 기존의 안전교육 교수방법은 강의 방식으로 전달하고 있어 근로자의 참여를 이끌어내는데 한계점이 있으며, 불안전한 행동에 의한 안전사고를 예방하기 위해서는 스마트 체험식 안전교육으로 패러다임을 전환할 필요성이 있다. [연구배경/목적]:스마트 체험식 안전교육은 건설현장에서 근로자들이 보다 더 빠르게 위험을 인지하고 여기에 맞는 안전작업 이행과 위험발생 시 응급대처 능력 등을 향상시키므로 사전사후 학습전이의 효과성을 검정할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 안전사고를 예방하기 위한 본 연구는 안전교육의 체험학습방법과 참여방법, 교육콘텐츠 접근방법을 통하여 근로자의 안전행동 유도와 불안전행동 감소에 미치는 영향검증이 목적이다. [연구방향/범위]:실제 건설현장과 동일하게 작업환경을 구성해 놓은 스마트 체험식 안전교육시설에서 추락체험, 낙하물체험, 장비협착체험, 화재, 감전재해 등의 실제 사고를 체험해 볼 수 있도록 만들어진 체험학습 방법과 가상(VR, AR, 메타버스)공간에서 간접경험 할 수 있는 참여방법을 다룰 것이다. 그리고 안전체험교육 사전사후의 분석을 통하여 안전 학습전이 성과를 분석한다. [연구 분석방법]:연구의 주요 변인으로는 Human-Error, 안전행동요인, 불안전행동요인, 위험감수성, 조직특성, 조직의 안전문화, 조직의 역량, 안전교육특성, 교육콘텐츠 변화가 사전사후 분석을 통하여 현장 작업 시 안전 학습전이의 효과성을 검정하였다.

Discrimination between Silence and Voice Behavior in measurement and the incremental validity (침묵과 발언 행동의 변별성: 측정 모형 비교 및 침묵 행동의 증분 설명력)

  • The present study aimed to investigate the discrimination between employee voice and silence behavior in measurement: it is silence behavior the absence of voice or not? It was examined using confirmatory factor analysis. Five measurement models based on the suggestion of Pinder & Harlos(2001) and Van Dyne, Ang, & Botero(2003) were compared. Additionally, the hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted for examining the incremental validity of silence behaviors over voice. A total of 204 employees who worked with their own supervisor were surveyed. Results indicated that silence behavior could be a separate construct from voice. Findings also showed that silence behaviors could be distinguished by the level of concreteness in definition, difference in content of motivation and have the incremental validity over voice in only acquiescent Silence. From these results, the theoretical implications of findings, limitations, suggestions for future research were discussed in discussion.

  • Web mining can be broadly defined as the discovery and analysis of useful information from the World Wide Web. In this paper. we tried to analyze a user access pattern and designed a system which can supply useful information to users through the web mining, The proposed system can search the information of users pattern through the web site and news letters, and pass through classification of category through filtering, The fuzzy association rules are applied to the users who access recently, to each category that generated though these processes, and compares the generated sets to each users-access pages set, and it can send appropriate news letter to each user.

The Scope and Limitations of the New Institutional Approach on the Nature of the Firm (기업의 성격에 관한 신제도학파 접근방법의 범위와 한계 - 거래비용이론을 중심으로-)

  • 최근 20년간 마케팅을 비롯하여 사회과학 전반에 걸쳐 기업이론에 관하여 새로운 패러다임으로 각광을 받아온 신제도학파 접근방법은 이익극대화를 기업의 중심적 행동으로 가정하고 있는 신고전학파의 맹점을 극복하여 조직문제를 포괄적으로 다룰 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이 이론은 한정된 합리성, 기회주의, 자산 특수성, 지배구조, 신뢰 및 협동 등의 핵심적 개념들이 동태적 환경 하에서 활동하고 있는 기업의 경제적 행동을 분석하고 이해하는데 크게 기여하였음이 입증되고 있다. 이것은 다수의 실증적 문헌들에서 엿볼 수 있다. 그러나 신제도학파의 이론적 틀은 두 가지 면에서 주요 결점을 안고 있다. 그 하나는 이론의 정당성을 입증하기 위한 실증적 연구결과물을 무수하게 찾아볼 수 있으나, 대부분이 연구의 타당성이 결여되어 있다는 점이고, 또 하나의 결정적 결함은 신고전학파와 마찬가지로 비교정태적 접근방법을 택함으로써 역사적 관점이 도외시되고 기업의 전략개발과 구조적 변동을 이해하는데 필수적인 조직과 기술간의 동태적 상호작용의 중요성을 간과하고 있다는 점이다. 이에 따라 본고에서는 국제교역 이론가들이 제시한 기업 특유의 경쟁우위에 관한 착상과 그러한 우위가 기업 내외의 네트워크 형성을 포함하여 결집된 조직역량에서 도출된다는 견해를 거래비용이론에 접목시킴으로써 기업의 성격과 그 성장방식을 보다 설득력있게 이해할 수 있으리라는 관점을 제시하려 하였다. 이와 같이 거래비용이론과 진화론을 결합하면 신제도학파 기업이론의 결점이 보완되고 이론의 발전이 한 단계 진일보할 것으로 기대된다. 특히 마케팅 연구자들이 거래비용이론의 경우와 마찬가지로 본고에서 제시한 통합이론에 대해서도 실증적 연구를 행하면 이론개발에 크게 기여할 것으로 생각된다.
