  • 본 연구에서는 정서의 처리가 어떤 과정을 거쳐 이루어지는지를 조사하였다. 정서의 우선성 효과를 알아보기 위하여 제작되었던 Murphy와 Zajonc(1993)의 실험 패러다임을 응용하여 비의식적인 수준에서의 정서점화효과와 의식적인 수준에서의 정서점화효과를 비교하였다. 정서적 경험에 있어서의 차별화를 조작하기 위하여서 실험 2에서는 실험 1에서 사용되었던 표정사진 대신 사건사진을 점화자극으로 사용하였다. 실험 1과 실험 2에서 모두 식역 이하 수준에서 점화자극을 제시하였던 경우 Murphy와 Zajonc(1993)이 발견한 점화자극으로 인한 동화의 효과가 나타났다. 원 연구자들에 따르자면 점화자극에 대한 자각은 점화자극으로 인한 동화효과를 상쇄하여야 한다. 그러나 자극제시시간을 정서적 각성이 충분히 일어나도록 길게 한 조건에서는 사건사진(실험 2)만이 정서적 동화효과를 산출하였다. 마지막으로 이런 결과들이 지니는 정서처리의 과정에 대한 시사점이 논의되었다.

  • 한국어 CVC 음절의 하위 단위는 초성자음과 모음을 포함하는 음절체(body)와 종성자음(coda)으로 이루어져 있고, 영어 음절은 초성(onset)과, 모음과 종성자음을 포함하는 각운(rime)으로 이루어져 있다고 한다. 본 연구에서는 한국인이 영어의 음절을 한국어 음절 정보처리 방법으로 정보처리 하는지를 알아보고자 하였다 실험 조건으로는 음절체 일치 조건(예, 각-감, cap-cat), 각운 일치 조건(예, 남감, pat-cat), 그리고 두 자음 일치 통제조건(예, 김-감, cut-cat)과 무관련 통제 조건(예, ***-감, ***-cat)이 사용되었다. 실험 과제로는 점화 어휘판단 과제(primed lexical decision task)를 수행하였다. 만약 음절체 일치 조건에서의 점화효과가 각운 일치 조건에서의 점화효과보다 크다면 한국인의 음절분절 단위가 음절체-종성(body-coda) 구조일 것으로 예상할 수 있고 각운 조건에서의 점화효과가 더 크다면 그 단위가 초성-각운(onset-rime)구조일 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 실험 결과, 한국어 음절의 경우 각운 일치 조건의 점화 효과가 음절체 일치 조건의 점화 효과보다 크게 나타나 음절체-종성 구조로의 하위 단위 분석을 지지했다. 그러나 영어의 경우에는 각운 일치 조건의 점화 효과가 음절체 일치 조건의 점화 효과보다 크게 나타나 초성-각운 구조로의 분석을 지지하였다. 따라서 한국인이 시각 단어를 재인할 때에는 언어 특정적인 분석을 수행한다는 결과를 얻었다.

The Influence of Nonconscious Affective Priming on Object Rating (의식되지 않는 정서 점화자극이 대상의 호감도에 미치는 영향)

  • The affective primacy hypothesis of Murphy와 Zajonc(1983) was replicated in this study. The results of experiment 1 and 2 expanded the affective priming effect by facial valence as well as affective events on object rating. Experiment 3 explored the affective priming effect of schizophrenics at the supraliminal level and their results compared with those of normal subjects. For normal subjects the effect of affective priming was found only at the subliminal level but schizophrenics showed the assimilation effects by affective priming even at the supraliminal level. Finally. principles of affective processing were discussed.

Effects of word frequency and semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns (사용빈도와 의미투명도가 복합명사의 분리처리에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examined effects of word frequency and semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns by semantic priming task and repetition priming task. In Experiment 1, it was investigated that decomposition process depended on word frequency of compound noun. Semantic priming effects were found In the compound noun's associate rendition consistently, and repetition priming effects were found in the whole rendition as well as in the part condition irrespective of word frequency and SOA. These results implied that compound noun was processed through decomposition process path and direct access path. In Experiment 2, Effects of semantic transparency on decomposition processes of compound nouns were examined. Semantic priming effects were found when compound nouns' associates were presented as primes irrespective of semantic transparency and SOA, and results were the same as experiment 1b in repetition priming task. Results of experiment 1 and 2 implies that compound nouns are interpreted by interactive activation processes of attributes activated by decomposition path and direct access path.

A Study on the Improved Ignition Limit with Resistor for Propan-air Mixture Gas (저항을 이용한 프로판-공기 혼합가스의 점화한계 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the minimum ignition limits for propane-air 5.25 Vol.% mixture gases in low voltage inductive circiuts. The improved effects on the ignition limit are studied by parallel safety components(resistors) for propane-air 5.25 Vol.% mixture gas in low voltage inductive circuits. The experimental devices used in this test are the IEC type spark ignition test apparatus. The minimum ignition limits are controlled by the values of current in inductive circuit. Energy supplied from electric source is first accumulated at the inductance, it's extra energy is working as ignition source of the explosive gas. The improved effects on the ignition limit are respectively obtained as the maximum rising rate of 330% by composing parallel circuits between inductance and resistor as compared with disconnecting inductance with the safety components. The more values of inductance increase the higher improved effects of ignition limit rise. The less values of resistor the higher improved effects of ignition limit rise. It is considered that the result can be used for not only data for researches and development of intrinsically safe explosion-proof machines which are applied equipment and detectors used in dangerous areas but also for datum for its equipment tests.

  • Priming Effect, as a part of "Contextual Effect" is the phenomenon that pre-searched product information influences consecutive product evaluation. "Priming Effect" is different from other types of "Contextual Effects" in that pre-searched information doesn't have an direct effect on product evaluation, but an indirect effect which means that pre-searched information influences interpretation of consecutive product evaluation. On the previous theoretical background, this study investigated that how visual images can influence consumer preference and product choice, introducing concept of priming effects into the design of on-line shopping malls. This experiment adopted the digital cameras as the experimental stimulus target products and designed the individual web pages by priming the attributes of price and size. In result of analysis, the difference of product preference by priming attributes was proved to be statistically significant. In this reason, suggesting the background of commercial web page can be the significant factor in choosing products, the priming effects introduced into the design can be positively employed in online advertising.mployed in online advertising.

  • This study started from the point that female consumers have powerful effects on selection and purchase of products. Liquor is consumed by men more than women, but a population of women drinking liquor is increasing due to "wellbeing and a tendency to lower alcoholicity" of soju. Through priming effects, this study estimated and tested how liquor advertising which had been made focusing on male consumers could appeal to female consumers and affect their purchase. The results of this study revealed that the subjects were partially influenced by priming effects when the experimental image and the interference image were connected to each other in terms of their meaning. This study showed that if scenes in advertising, no matter how short they were, were in a similar situation, priming effects occurred and consumers had a positive attitude toward behavior which appeared in the advertising. In order that advertising of male-dominated products such as cars in addition to liquor may appeal to female consumers, situational factors have to be suitable to create priming effects. If such priming effects are advertising making and arrangement, advertising can appeal to female consumers more easily.

Priming Effects of Disaster-related TV News: Focusing on the Interactions of Geographical and Psychological Distance (재난 뉴스의 점화 효과: 지리적·심리적 거리의 상호작용을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the priming effects of disaster-related news. Specifically, this study aimed to examine the priming effects about trauma words and neutral words according to the geographical and psychological distance from the disaster. The participants in this study were 75 college students who had not experienced the Daegu subway fire accident, and whom were not ruled out after completing the screening measure completing the screening measure the completion of questionnaires for screening. All participants conducted a lexical decision task after watching a news video about the Daegu subway fire accident. The design was a 2 (Geographical distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Psychological distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Priming type: trauma priming vs. neutral priming) mixed-design. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the group which was geographically closer to the disaster tended to revealed a largerbigger priming effect than the distant group-a trend toward significance. Second, within the psychologically closer to the disaster, group, for those who were geographically closer too, the priming effect was larger for those who were geographically closer geographically closer than for the geographically distant group. Third, the geographically closer group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the distant group. Fourth, the psychologically distant group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the close group. To sum up, this study identified that disaster news coverage may have an implicit effect on people, and this influence can change according to the geographical and psychological distance. Finally, this study discussed the limitations of the study and recommendations for further research.

Implicit Representation of Gender Stereotype: Priming Effects of Attribute Typicality and Gender Congruency (성별 고정관념의 암묵적 표상: 성별의 속성 전형성과 집단 일치성의 점화효과)

  • Two experiments were conducted to explore the implicit representation of gender-stereotype using primed naming task for prime-target pairs. In Experiment 1, Participants were presented gender's attributes as primes at SOA 250ms and were asked to pronounce person's names which differed in typicality and preference of gender's attributes. The results showed that gender congruent effects was not found, but typicality effects and interactions were found. In Experiment 2, Participants were presented gender's attributes as primes at SOA 250ms and were asked to pronounce gender's attributes which differed in typicality of gender's attributes. The results showed that woman's attributes superiority effects were found, but typicality effects were not. These results were discussed from a point of view of graded representation of gender stereotype and asymmetrical processing of gender stereotype to priming conditions in the implicit level.

Cross-linguistic Semantic Priming Effects in Visual Word Recognition (언어간 의미 점화 효과)

  • 본 연구는 영어 단어 재인 과정에서 나타나는 한국인의 어휘 수준과 의미 수준 양상을 알아보기 위해 실시되었다 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 세 종류의 실험을 시행하였는데, 첫 번째 실험에서는 한국어 처리 기제와 영어 처리 기제의 독립 여부를 알아보기 위하여 한국어로는 여러 의미를 갖지만 영어로는 한 가지 의미만을 가지는 영어단어를 점화 자극으로 하고, 한국어와는 관련된 의미를 갖지만 영어와는 무관련한 한국어 단어를 목표 자극으로 사용하여(예, bridge-팔)언어간 의미 점화 어휘판단 과제를 시행하였다. 두 번째 실험에서는 비교적 개념 구조가 한국어와 영어에서 유사하다고 생각되어지는 외래어를 자극으로 사용하여 언어간(예, elevator-승강기), 언어 내(예, 엘리베이터-승강기) 어휘판단과제를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫 번째 실험에서는 유의미한 점화효과가 나타나지 않았고, 두 번째 실험에서는 언어간에는 SOA에 따라서 결과가 달랐고, 언어 내에는 촉진적 점화효과가 나타났다 이러한 결과는 영어의 일반 어휘에 대한 의미 표상 체계는 독립적으로 존재하였고, 외래어와 같이 특수한 어휘에 대해서는 다른 표상 체계를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다
