The business performance of port industry is steadily getting worse due to international environmental regulation. The port industry should be prepared according to ambient condition change. IMO(International Maritime Organization) is tightening up environmental regulation of vessel and maritime industry field. ECA(Emission Control Area), starting with the Baltic, has initialized and has been expanded. Korea must strengthen the control of vessel in accordance with IMO's restriction, if Korea is designated as emission control area. These situations cause the expansion of LNG-fuelled ships. Add to the larger trend of ships, Korean government should be done a preemptive action against LNG bunkering industry. This study proposes the concept of floating offshore LNG bunkering system and is conducted its economic feasibility evaluation based on empirical analysis. We examine the theoretical foundation and basic information via "A Planning Study on the Engineering Development of Floating Offshore LNG Bunkering Terminal" in 2013 and we evaluate the business potential by using the report above mentioned. The results of this study are as follows. The values of B/C analysis are between 0.679 and 2.516 depending on market share and R&D contributiveness. In case of 10.9%(market share), if market share are 50% and 60%, the value of B/C analysis are 0.697 and 0.837 respectively. Except in two cases, all remaining values are over 1.0. Moreover, the research is conducted sensitivity analysis to remove the project uncertainty. In order to maintain economical validity, a project manager have to establish business strategies which are not to cause increase of expense and sustain market share and R&D contributiveness in the scenario with normal levels.
This paper proposes a technique to select processors and hardware IPs and to map the tasks into the selected processing elements, aming to achieve high performance with minimal system cost when multitask applications with real-time constraints are run on a multicore SoC. Such technique is called to 'Hardware-Software Cosynthesis Technique'. A cosynthesis technique was already presented in our early work [1] where we divide the complex cosynthesis problem into three subproblems and conquer each subproblem separately: selection of appropriate processing components, mapping and scheduling of function blocks to the selected processing component, and schedulability analysis. Despite good features, our previous technique has a serious limitation that a task monopolizes the entire system resource to get the minimum schedule length. But in general we may obtain higher performance in multitask multicore system if independent multiple tasks are running concurrently on different processor cores. In this paper, we present two mapping techniques, task mapping avoidance technique(TMA) and task mapping pinning technique(TMP), which are applicable for general cases with diverse operating policies in a multicore environment. We could obtain significant performance improvement for a multimedia real-time application, multi-channel Digital Video Recorder system and for randomly generated multitask graphs obtained from the related works.
In this paper, we analyse empirically the effects of financial characteristics on the relationship between R&D investment and market value of firms listed on Korea Exchange. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows. Firm size increase the market valuation of R&D investment because it provides economies of scale, easier access to capital market, and R&D cost spreading. Market share also positively effects the relationship between R&D investment and firm value. Alternatively, free cash flow has a negative effect on the relationship between R&D investment and firm value because firms with high free cash flow could be tempted to use the free cash flow to undertake negative NPV projects. The dependence on external finance is a handicap negatively assessed by the market when firms undertake R&D projects due to the higher information asymmetry associated with this kind of project. Labor intensity has a negative effect on the relationship between R&D investment and firm value because the abnormal profits arising from R&D investment are diluted among employees. Capital intensity also has a negative effect on the relationship between R&D investment and firm value due to the greater financial constraints faced by capital intensive firms. In conclusion, several financial characteristics(firm size and market share) positively effect the relationship between R&D investment and firm value, while others(free cash flow, dependence on external finance, labor intensity, and capital intensity) exert a negative effect. Therefore, we conclude that the effectiveness of R&D investment depends on these financial characteristics.

The speed of aging society is increasingly getting faster in Korea. Currently, there are over one million elderly living alone, which represents more than 19% of the total elderly in Korea. Although various policies and research have been implemented for caring the elderly living alone, there have been obvious limitations in realization of the caring system due to inconvenience, privacy violation, difficult operation and maintenance. Therefore, the objective of this study is to develop a method and a prototype system to monitor safety of elderly living alone by using energy usage information of automatic meter reading device. The proposed system is expected to improve or resolve the existing limitations and to provide 24 hour monitoring and early detection of death for the elderly living alone without adding staffs for operation and maintenance in a more effective and economic way.

This paper is to analyze how firms in a large firm-led industrial city have carried out the restructuring in the face of radical shifts, with focus on the strategy and the restructuring of firms in Ulsan, a typical industrial district in Korea that is specialized in heavy & chemical industry. It has been well known that the local economy has been led by a small number of large firms, including affiliates of chaebol, and its industrial structure has also been characterised as a clear dichotomy between large firms as a customer and small and medium-size firms as a supplier, which can be called not horizontal but vertical relations. It can identify some tendencies, however, that local companies have been rather dynamically changing in response to increasingly turbulent environment since the Asian crisis. Some are radical, but some incremental. These can be summarized in four distinctive but interlinked ways. First, more than half of local companies surveyed have attempted to change their production systems, mainly from the fordist mass production towards the flexible mass production, seeking both economies of scale and scope. Second, local firms have vigorously continued to reorganize the boundary of the production and the organization, by specializing products and focusing on the core competence in order to save costs and cope with radically changing customer demands in a flexible way. Third, there have been various strategies for the organizational innovation such as the introduction of team organization, the boundary blurring between the managerial and production workers and the intra-firm spin-offs, so as to improve managerial efficiency and competence in the use of internal labour market. Finally, they have tried to be more sensitive to the market and customers. These tendencies seem to be increasingly critical to sustain their competitiveness. To do so, they tend to focus increasingly not only on the competing via the product quality rather than through price, but also to seek to diversify the market and customer firms beyond national boundary.
The purpose of this study lies in understanding how the spectrum assigned for each mobile operator affects the consumers of mobile service. For this purpose, we have observed the change of path coefficient in the structural equation, using control variables. However, the structure of the mobile service market in Korea has become fixed. Considering this tendency and the conclusion of this study, the 'lock-in effect' occurs seriously in the mobile service market in Korea. It can be explained by the fact that CS(Customer Satisfaction) of the cellular subscribers little affects customer loyalty but the market dominance of the cellular service in the actual market has continued for a long time. In this study, we figured out a strong prejudice about call quality, which is caused by spectrum difference among competitors. Cellular subscribers tends to believe that call quality of their cellular service is better than that of PCS. In addition, we found that PCS operators can catch customer's retention by investment into network in order to increase call quality.
Sterilization of oak sawdust at $65^{\circ}C$ for Lentinula edodes bed cultivation can be efficient in sterilization facility cost, but its effect on the mushroom production is uncertain due to high contamination probability. The effective conditions for L. edodes hyphal growth in the low temperature sterilized oak sawdust were investigated with combinations of three sterilization temperatures ($65^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$ and $121^{\circ}C$) and four cultivation temperatures ($15^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$, and $30^{\circ}C$). L. edodes inoculation density effect was also tested with 1 cm, 2 cm, and 4 cm distance in the sawdust (4%, 11% and 25% inoculation rate by surface area). L. edodes hyphal growth in the sawdust sterilized at $65^{\circ}C$ was as much as at those $100^{\circ}C$ and $121^{\circ}C$ when the fungus cultured below $25^{\circ}C$, but it was greatly reduced when cultured at $30^{\circ}C$. And the sawdust medium with 1cm distance inoculation density was fully occupied with L. edodes hyphae, but those with 2~4cm distance inoculation were contaminated by 4~33%. Therefore, we conclude that low temperature sterilized oak sawdust needs to be cultured under $25^{\circ}C$ after sufficient inoculation by 25% for successful bed cultivation of L. edodes.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the financial performance of regional public hospitals on their efficiency. In addition, the analysis of their efficiency using environmental factors, such as the market share, operating mode, and size of the regional public hospitals, as well as the factors influencing their efficiency, are selected by selecting the input and output factors of the hospitals and some differences were found between them. The DEA index and financial performance of the 31 regional public hospitals were calculated for the three years from 2012 to 2014. ANOVA and hierarchical regression analysis were used. As a result, there was a significant difference in their efficiency according to the environmental factors, such as the city scale of the regional public hospital, the number of hospital beds, and their business performance, productivity, and publicness. The medical profit margin (p<0.05), labor cost investment efficiency (p<0.05) and HHI (p<0.05) were found to affect the efficiency. In order to identify the inefficiencies of the regional public hospitals and increase their efficiency, it is necessary to measure the efficiency of the input resources and to reduce their cost. In addition, if the regional public hospitals were to provide specialized services, such as specialized functions of medical care that would give them a competitive advantage over private hospitals, their operational efficiency would be enhanced and they would be able to fulfill their role as public medical institutions.

The Korean society is currently at the level of discussing the living environment and the housing welfare as factors for improving the quality of life, in addition to most individuals or households residing in a living environment and housing welfare, according to industrialization and urbanization. However, even though the overall housing welfare of Korea has improved, the number of households with disabilities belonging to the social special class is not as high as that of the non-disabled households. It is a reality that cannot be done. Therefore, this study aims to identify the present condition and demand characteristics of the housing for disabled people whose social importance is currently emphasized among the social special people who can be called the social special class, as well as present the housing welfare policy to them and explain the purpose of the improvement plan. In this study, 4,277 out of 8,004 households with disabilities surveyed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport in 2015 were analyzed. The result of the analysis showed that the economic characteristics (permanent income indicating the income and the user cost indicating the expenditure) of the housing demand of a household with a handicapped individual are important. This analysis will provide more effective policy formulation and policy direction for the families of the disabled.

Power distribution management system is essential for the efficient management and operation of power distribution networks. The power distribution system is a system that manages the distribution network based on IT, and has been evolving along with the development of the power industry. The current power distribution system is designed to operate at a relatively low network transmission speed based on the independent operation of the main equipment. However, due to distributed resources such as photovoltaic or energy storage devices, which are rapidly increasing in popularity in recent years, the operation of future distribution environments is becoming more complex, and various information needs to be collected in real time. In this study, the requirements of the next-generation power distribution system were derived to overcome the limitations of the existing power distribution system, and based on this, the communication network system and performance requirements for the distribution system were defined. In order to verify the performance of the designed system, a software-based terminal device simulator was developed because it takes excessive time and cost to introduce a large-scale system such as a power distribution system. Using the simulator, a test environment similar to the actual operation was established, and the number of terminal devices was increased up to 1,000. The proposed system was shown to satisfy the requirements to support the functions of the next-generation power distribution system, recording less than 10 % of the communication network bandwidth.
