Estimation of Travel Demand Changes Resulted From Railway Investment (철도 투자에 따른 수요변화 추정방안 연구)

  • Although the amount of travel demand is a critical factor in a benefit-cost (B/C) analysis of railway investment, the travel demand changes especially for induced demand have not been considered. Therefore, the basic study of how to estimate travel demand changes after railway investment is worth investigating. This study reviews the methodologies for estimating diverted and induced demand generated after railway investment, and proposes appropriate approaches that will help railway planners to practically apply them in a case study. Further, the research stimulates the needs of consideration of the travel demand changes in the feasibility studies of railway planning.

  • 현재 전력산업의 패러다임은 늘어나는 전력수요를 발전소 등 전력설비를 증설해 대응하는 것에서 벗어나, 전력수요를 적절히 관리해 수요 증가세를 억제함으로써 전력수급의 안정화를 이루겠다는 방향으로 전환됐다. 이에 지난달 25일 개설된 수요자원 거래시장은 매우 특별한 의미를 갖는다. 발전자원만을 유일한 공급원으로 거래하던 현행 전력시장에서, 발전자원과 수요자원을 통합해 거래하는 시장으로 전환됨을 뜻하기 때문이다. 수요자원 거래시장에 대해 자세히 알아본다.

  • 탄소배출에 대한 글로벌 규제 확대는 새로운 산업규제와 무역장벽을 가져오고 있으며, 세계 각국은 재생에너지 개발, 에너지 효율 증대, 환경 개선 등을 동시에 추구하는 녹색투자를 통해 경기부양을 도모하고 있다. 한국 정부는 이러한 환경변화 속에 녹색투자를 통한 새로운 성장기회를 모색하고 있으며, 기업은 저탄소 친환경구조로의 전환을 생존의 문제로 직면하게 되었다. 이는 산업구조의 변화와 전환을 가져올 뿐만 아니라, 인력 구성의 변화와 요구숙련의 변화를 요구한다. 이러한 녹색경제로의 전환에서, 미래 숙련수요에 대응한 인력양성은 녹색경제의 전환에 대한 대응으로서 뿐만 아니라 녹색성장을 견인하는 추동력이 된다. 본 연구는 자동차산업을 중심으로 미래 숙련 수요에 따른 인력양성 방안을 모색한다. 그린카 관련한 미래 숙련 수요에 대해 현 대학교과상의 문제점을 살펴보며 이에 대한 개선방안을 모색하기로 한다. 이를 통해 녹색성장에서 그린카 이외의 타 부문에서의 미래 숙련 수요에 대응한 인력양성 방안을 마련하는 방법론의 개선을 도모한다.

Analysis of Diversion Demands for the Rapid Railway (급행철도 도입에 따른 전환수요 분석)

  • A diversity of railway network function enhancement projects such as the double tracking, electrification, and direct operation have been actively executed to improve the railway service. When the new rapid railway is provided, how many people will use it instead of other transports? How will the railway choice behavior be changed? Accordingly, in this paper, the applicability of diverted travel demand forecast method by Stated Preference(SP) and Transfer Price(TP) data was reviewed for Daegu metropolitan railway service. As the result of implementing the Revealed Preference(RP) and RP+SP model, the total travel time and travel cost parameters are of the right sign and are highly significant. In particular, when TP data is used as the complementary investigation of SP, the boundary value of diverted travel demand can be easily identified by railway fare and travel time service level. Therefore, it is considered that this will practically apply even in other regions as well as Daegu metropolitan railway.

When the new rapid transit is provided, how many people will use it instead of other transports? How will the railway choice behavior be changed? Accordingly, in this paper, the applicability of diverted travel demand forecast methods, by Revealed Preference(RP) and Stated Preference(SP) data was reviewed for Daegu metropolitan rail rapid transit service. As the result of combining RP and SP data, including the sequential and simultaneous approach, the total travel time and travel cost parameters are of the right sign and are highly significant. The simultaneous approach is more efficient in terms of the estimation of coefficients. In particular, methods to improve validity of the Mixed RP/SP models, when RP data is used proportionally, the diverted travel demand can be easily identified by railway fare and travel time service level. Therefore, it is considered that this will practically apply even in other regions as well as Daegu metropolitan railway.

  • 본 연구에서는 일반균형이론을 이용하여 버스전용차로의 효과분석모형을 정립하였 고, 이 모형을 이용하여 경부고속도로의 버스 전용차로에 대한 효과분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 버스전용차로 효과분석모형에 있어 수요모형으로는 로짓 모형을 사용하였 고, 서비스모형, 즉 공급모형으로는 지체함 수식을 사용하였다. 이를 통하여 버스전용차로 설치에 따른 교통수단간 전환수요를 내생화 하였다. 경부고속도로를 대상으로 한 사례분석 의 결과, 버스전용차로의 효과를 극대화하는 혼잡수준이 존재한다는 것과, 버스전용차를 설 치할 경우 교통수단간의 수요전이효과에 따라 버스뿐만 아니라 일반 차로를 이용하는 승용 차의 통행여건도 개선된다는 사실을 발견하였다.

Empirical Analysis on Subscriber Churning in Mobile Number Portability System (이동전화번호이동제도에 따른 가입자 전환 실증분석)

  • We study factors that affect consumers' switching behaviors among service providers in Korean mobile telecommunications service market. For empirical analysis, quarterly time series data from the first quarter of 2004 through the second quarter of 2007 were used. We chose the number of switchers to each mobile service provider in each quarter as dependent variables. Independent variables include acquisition costs per subscriber, which play the role of subsidy to mobile handset, switching costs, time trend, structural change effect, and standby demand effects. Through the empirical analysis, we found that different providers' churn-in customers are affected by different factors. Specifically, the number of chum-in customers into SK Telecom is explained mainly by SK Telecom's customer acquisition costs and standby demand from KTF, while the number of customers switching into KTF is better explained by switching costs from the previous service provider and standby demand from SK Telecom. Those who chose LG Telecom as their new provider, on the other hand, were mainly attracted by LG Telecom's high subscriber acquisition cost.

  • Global expansion of regulation for carbon emission has brought new industrial regulations and trade barriers while the global economy is promoting economic stimulus through a variety of green investments such as renewable energy development, energy efficiency increase, and environmental improvement simultaneously. Korean government is trying to seek a new opportunity to grow through green investment in this change of business environment and businesses are facing the transition to low-carbon and eco-friendly structure for their survival. It is promoting not only industry structure changes and conversion but also demanding changes of workforce composition and requirement skills. In response to convergence of green economy, manpower development for future skills needs is provided the main impetus for response as well as promotion green growth. This study will analyze human resource development plan due to future skills needs emphasizing on automative industry. Also the study will be researched on the problems of present curriculum of undergraduate and look for improvements tasks. Upon the result, promotion plans for human resource development in other sectors of green car in response to future skills needs in green growth can be found.

  • This paper designed to identify energy demand behavior which are employed price: expenditure, traffic activity, and fuel substitution effect in the transportation sector. According to analysis, we find that first of all in this sector, enhancement of fuel economies and improvement of public transportation system are quite significant.
