2 Dimensional FEM Elastic Wave Modeling Considering Surface Topography (불규칙 지형을 고려한 2차원 유한요소 탄성파 모델링)

  • Forward modeling by construction of synthetic data is usually practiced in a horizontal surface and a few subsurface structures. However, in-situ surveys often take place in such topographic changes that the corrupted field data always make it difficult to interpret the right signals. To examine the propagation characteristic of elastic waves on the irregular surface, a general mesh generation code for finite element method was modified to consider the topography. By implementing this algorithm, the time domain modeling was practiced in some models with surface topography such as mound, channel, etc. The synthetic data obtained by receivers placed on surface also agreed with the analytic solution. The snapshots showing the total wave-field revealed the propagation characteristic of the elastic waves through complex subsurface structures and helped to identify the signals on the time traces. The transmission of Rayleigh waves along the surface, compressive waves, and sheer waves was observed. Moreover, it turned out that the Rayleigh waves behave like a new source at the edge.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate concrete flaw using seismic first arrival and various inversion method. Seismic wave propagation was calculated using finite element method in theoretical modelling and tomogram was made using various inversion methods in theoretical and experimental modelling. Five steps of seismic first arrival were selected from FEM results and these data were used to calculate seismic velocity section. According to the results, exact seismic first arrival picking method was proposed and experimental modelling was conducted.

  • In this paper, we studied a policy direction for promoting wireless industry. For this, we defined the concept of wireless industry and classified their structure and suggested a growth model of wireless industry and policy elements, which is composed of technology development, service development, advancement of law and regulations, business model development, assistance of production and use, publicity enforcement for promotion. Also, we had a survey on the policy elements for promoting the industry by experts interview. We drew some policy directions for promotion of wireless industry from survey results.

  • Various modeling techniques for ultrasonic wave propagation and scattering problems in finite solid media are presented. Elastodynamic boundary value problems in inhomogeneous multi-layered plate-like structures are set up for modal analysis of guided wave propagation and numerically solved to obtain dispersion curves which show propagation characteristics of guided waves. As a powerful modeling tool to overcome such numerical difficulties in wave scattering problems as the geometrical complexity and mode conversion, the Boundary Element Method(BEM) is introduced and is combined with the normal mode expansion technique to develop the hybrid BEM, an efficient technique for modeling multi mode conversion of guided wave scattering problems. Time dependent wave forms are obtained through the inverse Fourier transformation of the numerical solutions in the frequency domain. 3D BEM program development is underway to model more practical ultrasonic wave signals. Some encouraging numerical results have recently been obtained in comparison with the analytical solutions for wave propagation in a bar subjected to time harmonic longitudinal excitation. It is expected that the presented modeling techniques for elastic wave propagation and scattering can be applied to establish quantitative nondestructive evaluation techniques in various ways.

  • In this paper, the effect of material properties on fracture behavior was studied using cohesive zone model and extended finite element method. The rectangular tensile specimen with a central inclined initial crack was modeled by plane stress elements. In the CZM modeling, cohesive elements were inserted between every bulk elements in the predicted crack propagation region before analysis, while in the XFEM the enrichment to the elements was added as needed during analysis. The crack propagation behavior was examined for brittle and ductile materials. For thin specimen configuration, wrinkle deformation was accounted for by geometrically nonlinear post-buckling analysis and the effect of wrinkling on the crack propagation was investigated.

  • Wave lengths of tsunamis are shorter than those of tides, and the dispersion effect of tsunamis is relatively strong. Thus, it should be properly considered in the numerical simulation of distant tsunami propagation for better accuracy. In the present study an active dispersion-correction scheme using explicit scheme is developed to take into account the dispersion effect in the simulation of tsunami propagation using one-dimensional finite element method based on wave equation. The validity of the dispersion-correction scheme proposed in this study is confirmed through the comparision of numerical solutions calculated using the present scheme with analytical ones considering dispersion effect of waves.

  • The distribution of the space debris caused by any source affects the DBS & FSS wave propagation for satellite communication. In this paper, the normalized expansion coefficients are evaluated with varying the volume distribution density of space debris and the operating frequency, and then the attenuation and phase shift are calculated by using the normalized expansion coefficients. Conclusively, the attenuation and phase shift are mostly affected with the real and imaginary part of the amplitude function, respectively, which represented by electric field component of the Bessel function. The results of this paper adapted for the design of the link budget for satellite communication system and the reconsideration of space environment as the space debris increses by geometric progression.

  • This paper describes a full wave analysis of the scattering from electromagnetic absorbers which can be approximated as infinite periodic structure using hybrid finite element method. By introducing fictitious boundaries, equivalent finite region is defined and proper boundary conditions of each boundary are obtained by Floquet theorem. Since higher-order Floquet modes are employed, the method presented in this paper can be readily applied to the periodic structure haying a relatively long period. To reduce difficulty in evaluating the surface integral, the normal component to the surface were represented with the tangential component to the surface. Comparisons of calculated results with analytical or published ones show the validation of the method.

  • 최근 시스템을 구축하는데 있어서 점점 더 많은 상용 컴포넌트가 쓰이고 있다. 컴포넌트에서 핵심 요소로 작용하는 요구사항은 기능 요구사항과 비기능 요구사항으로 나뉘며, 실질적인 컴포넌트의 재사용에 있어서 비기능적이 요소가 결정적인 기준으로 작용하고 있다. 비기능 요구사항은 해당 시스템이 지원해야 할 기능 요구사항의 제약사항 또는 품질 속성을 말하며, 소프트웨어의 품질 요구 사항으로 반영된다. 결국 시스템의 품질을 보장하기 위해서는 시스템을 구성하는 컴포넌트가 가진 품질을 고려해야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 시스템의 품질에 관여하는 비기능 요구사항을 분석 및 반영 하기 위해 품질 속성이나 제약사항과 같은 컴포넌트가 가져야 할 비기능 요구사항을 고려한 컴포넌트의 추출 기법을 제안한다. 비기능 요구사항의 분석은 UML의 유스케이스에서 이루어지며 기능-비기능 요구사항의 영향관계를 고려하여 컴포넌트를 추출한다. 추출된 컴포넌트는 문서화를 통해 잘 기술된 제약사항 및 품질 요구사항에 대한 정보를 가지고 있기 때문에 보다 효과적인 컴포넌트를 이용한 개발을 가능케 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 세종 구문 코퍼스를 의존 구문 코퍼스로 변환할 때 사용되는 중심어 전파(Head-Percolation) 규칙에 대하여 논의한다. 한국어는 중심어-후위 언어이기 때문에 의존 구문 트리를 구축할 때 지배소를 의존소 뒤에 배치시키는 것을 원칙으로 하였다. 그러나 의존 관계에 있는 단어 사이에 지배소를 앞쪽으로 설정하는 것이 더 자연스러운 경우가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지배소를 앞쪽으로 배치시키는 것을 허용하는 중심어 전파 규칙을 채택하여 의존 구문 코퍼스를 구축해 보고 중심어 전파 규칙이 구문 분석기의 성능에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴본다. 실험 결과 지배소를 앞쪽으로 설정하는 것을 허용한 경우, 0.43%의 성능 저하가 있었으나 학습 코퍼스의 일관성을 유지한다면 성능 저하의 차이를 좀 더 줄일 수 있을 것이다.
