  • The least square estimation is used frequently in experimental modal analysis techinque to eliminate noise signals. However, identified modal parameters are sometimes inaccurate, since the least squre estimation is sensitive to noise. In this paper, a new total least squre estimation, which is robust to noise signals, is developed and applied to experimental modal analysis technique such as Prony method and Circle Fit method. Several simulated results show that the proposed method is robuster to noise than conventional method.

  • 본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기를 위치센서 없이 기동하기 위해 회전자의 초기 위치를 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 자기 인덕턴스의 포화현상에 따른 고정자 전류를 해석하고 최소자승법을 통해 회전자의 초기 위치를 추정한다. 전 구간에서 회전자의 초기 위치와 극성을 정확하게 알아낼 수 있어 돌극성 때문에 나타나는 릴럭턴스 토크를 효과적으로 사용할 수 있다. 또한, 전동기 정수에 영향을 받지 않으므로 다양한 전동기 구동 시스템에 적용할 수 있으며, 추가적인 하드웨어가 필요하지 않아 경제적이다. 제안하는 방법의 유효성과 우수성은 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증한다.

  • In order to solve problems in automatic quality inspection of tablet capsules, computation-efficient image processing technique, appropriate threshold setting, edge detection and segmentation methods are required. And since existing automatic system for quality inspection of tablet capsules is of very high cost, it needs to be reduced through the realization of low-price hardware system. This study suggests a technique that uses low-cost camera module to obtain image and inspects dents on tablet capsules and sorting them by applying TLS curve fitting technique and edge-based image segmentation. In order to assess the performance, the major classifications algorithm of PCA, ICA and SVM are used to evaluate training time, test time and accuracy for capsule image area and curve fitting edge data sets.

  • Frequency resource efficiency is important in satellite communication systems. One of the causes of a waste of frequency resource is bad flatness. In the case, flatness of satellite Tx terminals would be worse by ACI and guard band. In order to overcome this problem, this paper proposes a technique for frequency response equalization in satellite Tx terminals. First of all, a general linear polynomial expression which meets least squares of representative measurement data is calculated to interpolate unmeasured data. And then flatness can be adjusted using the polynomial expression. Simulation results illustrate adjusted data have lower peak to peak and standard deviation than original data, and these show that flatness be improved.

  • The circular arc is a very useful feature for object detection and recognition in industrial environments. In this paper, a new method to detect circular arcs is proposed. The detection of the circular arc includes the estimation of the center, the radius and the two ending points of the arc. This new method is based on determining the best part of the circular arc (part which does not contains outliers points) using 3 points designated along the arc. A least square method is applied to the best part of the arc and the center and the radius of the arc are obtained. The distance between the remaining edge's points (points which are not lying on the best part of the arc) and the radius is used to the two ending points of the arc.

  • We propose a new expert system for recovering the broken fragments of relics into an original form using computer graphics and image processing. This paper presents a system with an application to tombstones objects of flat plane with letters carved in for assembling the fragments by placing their respective fragments in the right position. The matching process contains three sub-processes: aligning the front and letters of an object, identifying the matching directions, and determining the detailed matching positions. We apply least squares fitting, vector inner product, and geometric and RGB errors to the matching process. It turned out that 2-D translations via fragments-alignment enable us to save the computational load significantly. Based on experimental results from the damaged cultural fragments, the performance of the proposed method is illustrated.

  • This paper discusses the nonlinear time-invarient circuit composed of a tunnel diode. Prior to determine the solution of the nonlinear network which has negative resistance elements, the static characteristics of the nonlinear resistance elements need to be represented by function. Polynomial curve fitting is discussed to represent the static characteristies by least squares approximation. In order to solve the nonlinear network, the state equations for the networks are set up and solved by prediction corrector method. Finally, the limit cycle is plotted to discuss the stability of the nonlinear network and the oscillation condition.

  • The nonlinear characteristics of a damper is directly related to the car behavior and performance, both for handling and comfort. So considering the nonlinear characteristics of a damper such as hysteresis is important to analyze the dynamic characteristics of a car suspension. In this study, a mathematical nonlinear dynamic damper model based on experimental data is devised to estimate the nonlinear parameters of a NEW EF-SONATA damper using the least square method. The devised nonlinear dynamic damper model is used to analyze the reaction force of a NEW EF-SONATA suspension using ADAMS. The simulation results are good agreement with the experimental data than those of the linear model.

  • 본 논문에서는 진동테이블의 가속도스펙트럼에 대한 치구 위의 제어점 및 시험물부착점들에서의 가속도스펙트럼을 실제 진동시험조건에서 낮은 진동레벨로 측정한 후, 측정된 전달함수를 이용하여 기준스펙트럼과 시험물 부착점들에서의 스펙트럼의 창를 최소화하기 위한 진동테이블(armature table)에서의 가속도스펙트럼 및 제어점에서의 기준스펙트럼을 최소자승법(Least Square Method)의 원리를 적용하여 구하는 방법을 제안하였다. 본 방법은 시험규격에서 정해진 기준스펙트럼으로 제어할 경우와 제안된 기준스펙트럼으로 제어할 경우, 시험물부착점들로 전달되는 스펙트럼을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 간단히 예측할 수 있으므로 제안 전.후 결과를 쉽게 비교, 확인할 수 있고 실험을 통해 이를 증명하므로서 본 논문에서 제안된 방법의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 제안된 기준스펙트럼을 랜덤진동제어의 기준스펙트럼으로 사용하므로서 시험규격에 정해진 기준스펙트럼을 가능한 정확히 시험물에 전달할 수 있고, 시험물부착점들에서의 과대시험 또는 과소시험을 최대한 줄이므로서 보다 정확한 진동시험을 수행할 수가 있다.

  • As the purpose of the breakdown prediction of three degradation of insulating materials caused by partial discharge occurring at various defects in the polymer insulator itself and at the interfaces between electrodes and the insulating materials. Treeing due to partial discharge os one of the main causes of breakdown of the insulating materials. Recently, the necessity of establishing the way to diagnoses the aging of insulation materials and to predict of insulation breakdown become improtant. The purpose of our work are to use acoustic emission System and fractal dimension and to investigated the treeing phenomena in polymeric insulation under appliec AC voltage 11[kV] with an artificial needleshaped void(1.5[mm]) using the above system.
