Aperture Cut-off Filter for Reduction of Electromagnetic Field Penetration through a Slot in Conducting Screens (도체평판의 슬롯 침투 전자파 저감을 위한 개구면 차단필터)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the aperture cut-off filter for reduction of electromagnetic field penetration through a slot in conducting screen. The reduction characteristics of electric field penetration by the aperture cut-off filter are considered. In order to establish the concept of the aperture cut-off filter, the integral equation on the slot aperture field distribution is derived and solved by method of moments, and the reduction characteristics of penetration electric fields for the incident plane wave are calculated. The numerical results showed that the aperture cut-off filter for reduction of electric field penetration through the slot can be realized. To check the validity of the concept of an aperture cut-off filter and the theoretical analysis, the calculated electric field penetration of the metallic wall with narrow slot were compared with the experimental results.

휴대폰 전자파 차단에 관한 연구 -남성복 상의 안 Pocket을 중심으로-

  • 이상의 연구를 통하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 휴대폰을 포켓에 넣지 않았을 때와 차단가공이 안된 소재에서 전자파 투과량이 0.036-0.05lmW/$ extrm{cm}^2$로 안전기준치 0-0.02mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 초과하였으며 전자파 차단 가공 소재를 안감으로 사용하였을 매의 투과량은 0-0.012mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$로 안전기준치 이내의 양이었다. 둘째, 휴대폰 뒷면의 전자파 투과량이 휴대폰 앞면에 비하여 높았다. 셋째, 전자파 차단 가공제로 나켈만을 도포한 소재에서는 투과량이 다소 높았으나 안전기준치를 초과하지는 않았다. 넷째, 총 전자파 투과량은 포켓에 넣지 않았을 때와 가공 처리를 하지 않은 안감의 경우 0.083mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$을 초과하였고 가공처리를 한 경우에 도 0.043mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$을 초과하였다. 이상의 결과로 남성복 안 Pocket에 전자파 차단제 처리를 한 소재의 사용이 바람직할 것으로 생각되어지며, 휴대폰의 뒷면이 인체 바깥으로 향하도록 하는 것이 보다 효과적이라 생각되어진다.

  • Ferrite thin film with glass substrate was prepared by ferrite plating method in order to make sunglass which cut off ultraviolet and electromagnetic field. It has single phase of polycrystalline spinel structure and has gloss like as mirror and has hardness without scratch by scraping with nail. The transmittance of ferrite thin film is lowered near 400nm manifestly, which shows that the ferrite thin film was cut off ultraviolet successfully. Therefore, the sunglass with ferrite plating is use of cut of ultraviolet and electromagnetic field.

  • Effects of cacti and a few indoor plants on the protection of the harmful electromagnetic waves (ELF: extremely low frequency and VLF: very low frequency bands) radiated from the monitor of computer were investigated in indoor condition. The front screen of monitor evoked the highest amounts of electromagnetic waves as compared to other positions. Therefore, plants and other objects were placed on the front or side of monitor in order to measure electromagnetic waves. It was shown that all plants including cacti did not have any effect on the reduction of magnetic waves in both ELF and VLF, regardless of species and varieties, sizes, and dispositions. In the case of electric waves, however, there was a little reduction by cacti, depending upon several treatments mentioned before, but the measured values did not reach below values ruled by TCO (Tjatemannens Central Organization, Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees; electric field: 10 V/m and 1 V/m in ELF and VLF, respectively).

  • RFID-based Smart cabinets can make a recognition error owing to the electromagnetic wave interference. This paper proposes and implements a smart cabinet system for inventory management using RFID, especially which can be applied to biological laboratories. We calculate the optimal value of partition distance for the higher recognition rate between RFID tags and the reader, and the optimal partition thickness for electromagnetic wave absorption to achieve the higher recognition rate, in which two kinds of the partitions have been tested, a pure steel partition with various thickness and a thin steel partition attached with electromagnetic waves absorber. The experimental results show that the most recommended partition structure for the smart cabinets is one with the partition distance of 30cm and the partition thickness of 1mm attached with the electromagnetic wave absorption tapes.

A Study of cut off effect of ultraviolet in sunglasses lens coated with nickel-ferrite thin film NxFe3-xO4 (니켈페라이트 박막 NxFe3-xO4를 이용한 선글라스 렌즈의 자외선 차단효과에 대한 연구)

  • Nickel-ferrite $Ni_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ thin films with several composition for Ni on glass substrate was prepared by ferrite plating method in order to make sunglass which cut off ultraviolet and shield electromagnetic field. It has single phase of polycrystalline spinel structure and has gloss as mirror and has high hardness which is no scratch while scraping by using nail. The transmittance of nickel-ferrite thin film is lowered to zero below 400 nm manifestly. And it shows that the nickel-ferrite thin film in nickel composition rate x = 0.09 was most cut oil ultraviolet when compared with goods of other company in the cut off effect of ultraviolet. Therefore, sunglasses coated with $Ni_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ thin film can be used in removing ultraviolet and electromagnetic field.

  • In this paper, a novel ultra wide band(UWB) antenna with tri-band notch capability is proposed. The proposed antenna can reject WiMAX(3.3~3.7 GHz), WLAN IEEE 802.11a/n(5.15~5.825 GHz), and ITU(8.025~8.4 GHz) bands. Band rejection capability is achieved only split ring resonators(SRRs) and complementary SRRs(CSRRs). The SRR under the radiating patch, the CSRR loaded on the radiating patch, and the CSRRs on the ground of the CPW feeding reject the WiMAX, WLAN, and ITU bands, respectively. The simulation and measurement results demonstrate the performances of the proposed antenna.

  • The cut-off frequencies of higher order modes in a symmetrical stripline are calculated using the variational finite element method combined with the conformal mapping. The conformal mapping is used to Improve the modeling of the infinite transverse extents of a stripline. And then the finite element method is employed to solve the variational equation in the transformed finite region. Comparisons with numerical results found in the literature validate the presented method.
