Design and Implementation of Radar Signal Processing System for Vehicle Door Collision Prevention (차량 도어 충돌 방지용 레이다 신호처리 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper presents the design and implementation results of a Raspberry-Pi-based embedded system with an FPGA accelerator that can detect and classify objects using an FMCW radar sensor for preventing door collision accidents in vehicles. The proposed system performs a radar sensor signal processing and a deep learning processing that classifies objects into bicycles, automobiles, and pedestrians. Since the CNN algorithm requires substantial computation and memory, it is not suitable for embedded systems. To address this, we implemented a lightweight deep learning model, BNN, optimized for embedded systems on an FPGA, and verified the results achieving a classification accuracy of 90.33% and an execution time of 20ms.

  • Impact is the most common type of dynamic loading conditions that give rise to impulsive forces and affects the vibrational characteristics of mechanical systems . Since the real impact force and acceleration at the contact surface are measured indirectly through the sensors, the measured outputs can be a little different from the real impact responses. In this study, the contact force model based on the Hertz law is proposed in order to predict the impact force correctly. To investigate the influence of the position of the sensor attached to the impacting bodies, the two kinds of sensors were used. Finally, the contact force model obtained by drop test was applied to predict the impact force between the moving part and the stopper in magnetic contactor.

  • The IEEE 1451.4 standards defines an architectural model for interfacing smart transducers for sensors & actuators. This standard allows analogue transducers to communicate their identification and calibration data in a digital format. A digital format is called the TEDS (transducer electronic data sheet). However, the standard template TEDS of IEEE 1451.4 do not supports sensors to use in electronic tongue system, such as arrayed-potentiometric and voltametric sensors. In this paper, a solution to standardize sensors for E-Tongue (electronic tongue) and electronic tongue systems is presented.

  • This paper presents a study on the analysis of impact responses taking into account sensor dynamics. The contact force between impacting bodies is modelled by using Hertz force-displacement law and linear damping function. Since the real impact force and acceleration at the contact surface of two colliding bodies are measured indirectly by the sensors, the measured outputs can be a little different from the real impact responses. Therefore, in this study, the importance of consideration of sensor dynamics in the impact problems of two colliding bodies is emphasized. In order to verify the appropriateness of the proposed contact force model, the drop type impact test using two kinds of sensors is carried out. Through the numerical analysis and experiment, the effect of sensor dynamics and characteristics on the contact force model is investigated.

Realization of Readout Circuit Through Integrator to Average MCT Photodetector Signals of Noncontact Chemical Agent Detector (비접촉 화학작용제 검출기의 MCT 광검출기를 위한 적분기 기반의 리드아웃 회로 구현)

  • A readout circuit for a mercury-cadmium-telluride (MCT)-amplified mid-wave infrared (IR) photodetector was realized and applied to noncontact chemical agent detectors based on a quantum cascade laser (QCL). The QCL emitted 250 times for each wavelength in 0.2-㎛ steps from 8 to 12 ㎛ with a frequency of 100 kHz and duty ratio of 10%. Because of the nonconstant QCL emission power during on-duty, averaging the photodetector signals is essential. Averaging can be performed in digital back-end processing through a high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or in analog front-end processing through an integrator circuit. In addition, it should be considered that the 250 IR data points should be completely transferred to a PC during each wavelength tuning period of the QCL. To average and minimize the IR data, we designed a readout circuit using the analog front-end processing method. The proposed readout circuit consisted of a switched-capacitor integrator, voltage level shifter, relatively low-speed analog-to-digital converter, and micro-control unit. We confirmed that the MCT photodetector signal according to the QCL source can be accurately read and transferred to the PC without omissions.

  • 연질자성재료는 대부분 직류 및 고주파용 변압기, inductor, 대형 motor, 자기헤드의 자심재료 및 센서등으로 사용되고, 경질자성재료는 주로 motor 및 speaker용으로 사용되며, 자기기록매체재료는 화상, 음성 및 컴퓨터 정보의 기록용으로 사용된다. 특수자성재료로는 microwave용, 전자파 흡수, 열팽창 제어, 기체밀봉등 많은 용도에 이용되고 있다. 최근 국내외에서 수요가 급증하는 첨단 전자기기용 자성재료 시장등이 내구, 내열성 뿐만 아니라 소형화, 경량화 됨에 따라 자성재료의 고성능화를 요구하고 있다. 따라서 본 고에서는 경질자성재료의 개발현황을 살펴보고 자성재료의 고성능화를 위한 연구동향을 생각해 보고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고양이의 생활환경을 개선하고 건강 질환을 예방하여, 반려묘를 기를 때의 부담을 감소시킬 수 있는 '반려묘 돌봄 서비스를 제공하는 지능형 캣타워'를 제안한다. 지능형 캣타워는 첫째, 고양이 나이·품종·체중에 따라 발판 높이를 조절하여 추락사고를 방지하고 관절염을 예방한다. 둘째, 캣타워에 설치된 로드셀·암모니아·인체감지 센서를 이용하여 고양이의 체중, 소변, 식사량, 운동량을 측정한다. 셋째, 캣타워는 측정한 수치를 바탕으로 건강상태를 확인하고, 사료 종류와 급여량 등을 조절하여 비만, 신장 질환 등을 예방할 수 있다.

Characteristic Analysis of Electromagnetic-ultrasonic Guided Waves for Defect Signals in Condenser Tubes (전자기유도초음파를 이용한 복수기 전열관 결함신호 특성분석)

  • This paper describes a signal processing technique for identifying signals from defects by using an electromagnetic-ultrasonic guided waves method based on a magnetostrictive sensor that generates a torsional mode (T(0, 1)). Because this technique is based on the digital filtering, the filtered signals provide information on the relationship between the cutoff frequency of band-pass filter and the characteristic of defect signals in heat exchange tubes. To verify the performance of the technique, artificial defects with various thickness reduction ration and shape were machined in titanium tubes, and digital filtering results are reported. The results show that digital filtering provides information to the identify shape of defects and the contact condition between the tube and support ring. Therefore, the proposed technique has good potential as a tool for evaluating the integrity of heat exchange tubes.

  • 과학의 발달과 인간의 편리성 추구 성향에 따라 다양한 분야에서 소리를 이용한 기계·전자 시스템에 대한 연구 개발이 진행 중이다. 아마도 소리를 감지할 수 있는 센서 가격의 저렴함과 인간에게 있어서는 가장 편리한 방법이기 때문일 것이다. 이러한 생각을 바탕으로 소리라는 변수를 교통분야에 응용할 수 있는 분야를 생각해 볼 때 본 연구는 검지기를 이용한 교통 신호제어 분야를 제안하고자 한다. 검지기를 중심으로 한 교통 제어 시스템은 교통관리 측면에서 매우 중요한 분야를 차지하고 있다. 기존 고비용의 검지기 시스템들은 실제 상황에서는 그 투자 비용의 가치만큼 역할을 수행하지 못하고 있으며, 주요 교차로나 고속도로만을 교통변수 측정 및 교통제어의 대상으로 삼고 이들에 대해서만 검지 시스템을 운용하는 등 실용화측면에서 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 저렴하면서도 주요 교차로를 제외한 여타의 비주요 교차로 등과 같은 어떠한 교통 여건에도 적용할 수 있는 소음검지기법의 개발은 실로 높은 연구 가치가 있다고 사료된다. 소음검지시스템은 교통상황변수중 가장 주용한 교통량과 도로 소음과의 상관 관계를 이용하여 신호제어를 하는 원리로 구성된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 시스템의 제안을 위해 교통소음과 교통량이 어떠한 상관관계를 형성하는 가를 분석하였으며 이를 바탕으로 응용할 수 있는 신호제어 시스템의 일부 교통관련 분야를 제안하였다.

Design of High Efficiency Differential Electromagnetic Type Transducer for Implantable Middle Ear System (이식형 인공중이 시스템을 위한 고효율 차동 전자 트랜스듀서의 설계)

  • The differential electromagnetic transducer for IME(implantable middle ear) system, which have two small permanent magnets glued with the same pole facing each other in the coil, has high vibration efficiency and does not influenced by external magnetic field. In this paper, using finite element method, highly efficient structure of the transducer was proposed and vibration force of the transducer was calculated by electromagnetic theory. And the necessary vibration force of transducer to transmit the sound signal to inner ear when the transducer is attached at stapes was calculated and the design parameters of the transducer were investigated. Using the parameters, the differential electromagnetic transducer was manufactured in small size to implant in confined human middle ear. And it was examined by unloaded and loaded vibration experiment using temporal bone sampled from cadaver.
