Design and Implement an Internet-Based Courseware (인터넷 기반의 코스웨어의 설계 및 구현)

  • The purpose of thesis is to design and implement an efficient Internet-Based courseware which facilitates the problem solving learning. This courseware was developed in order to provide important foundations of learning in open-education environment using WWW. The targeted level is elementary students, To do this, the definition of problem solving, its processes, and advantages or pitfalls of computer-based problem solving learning were examined, with the advantage of using WWW as an educational tool. The theme of implemented courseware was selected from SATIS which is relevant for the problem solving learning. The courseware has three main parts; learning activity module, teaching activity module, and learning tool module. The learning activity module controls courseware flows and was implemented in accordance with the problem-based teaming processes. It: can be proceeded either sequential way or random access by setting linker. The advantage of random accessing method is that it may facilitate student learning because each student can regulate their learning processes which correspond to their own experiences. The teaching activity module provides for teachers useful informations for helping student's learning and it also can be used as an assessment tool for student's achievements, The learning: tool module consists of conversational note, e-mail address, help, and search tool. It is linked with learning activity module and teaching activity module so that teachers and students can actively participate in teaching-learning processes.

  • Virtual Robot Education System (VRES), which is for programming education with a Lego Mindstorm NXT robot, is designed and implemented. Through this system, program learners can edit source code, compile, download it into the robot, and run their executive program. In order to observe it, the system includes web cameras and provide monitoring services. Thus, students are able to verify the operation of robot into which they download their program in detail and to debug if necessary. In addition, we design a new simple user-friendly programming language and a corresponding compiler for it. With those tools, learner can more easily create programs for NXT robot and test them than Java language. A educator can control and manage the robot for the subject of a class with direct control mode of our system. Therefore, the proposed system is able to support students to learn robot programming during or after regular classes with web browsers through Internet.

  • The appearance of web technology has accelerated a role of the development of the multimedia technology, the computer communication technology and the multimedia application contents. And serveral researches of WBI (Web-based Instruction) system have combined the technology of the digital library and LOD. Recently WBI (Web-based Instruction) model which is based on web has been proposed in the part of the new activity model of teaching-learning. And the demand of the customized coursewares which is required from the learners is increased, the needs of the efficient and automated education agents in the web-based instruction are recognized. But many education systems that had been studied recently did not service fluently the courses which learners had been wanting and could not provide the way for the learners to study the learning weakness which is observed in the continuous feedback of the course. In this paper we propose "Design of Multi-agent System for Course Scheduling of Learner-oriented using Weakness Analysis Algorithm". First proposed system monitors learner's behaviors constantly, evaluates them, and calculates his accomplishment. From this accomplishment the multi-agent schedules the suitable course for the learner. And the learner achieves a active and complete learning from the repeated and suitable course.le course.

  • We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a munber of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the S/R machine, machine center-based part type selection rule, and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this paper, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.

  • 현재 대부분의 교육현장에서는 학생들을 지도하기 위해 기본정보가 기록되어 있는 노트용 교무수첩과 전자교무 수첩을 병행하여 사용하고 있다. 전자교무수첩은 정보를 관리하기 위해 업무용 데스크탑 PC가 대부분으로 휴대성이 어려워 활용도는 아주 미약하다. 본 논문에서는 기존 교무수첩을 스마트폰에 탑재해서 언제 어디서든 장소나 시간에 구해 받지 않고 학생 정보를 조회하여 학생들을 지도 할 수 있는 스마트 교무수첩 시스템을 설계하였다.

  • The instruction based on mass production system has contributed to the materialistic abundance, but it caused the innate target of education, development of 'holistic human beings' to be lost. Accordingly, the mentoring has been highlighted as an alternative instructional method because it can support learners in the aspect of cognitive and affective domain. On the other hand, as an effort of overcoming time and place constraints of face-to-face mentoring, e-mentoring is being required. This research aims to propose the e-mentoring system design plan for guiding learning after school, which may support face-to-face mentoring. Based on literature reviews, the direction of design was set and the necessary functions were drawn. e-Mentoring system design plan proposed in this article may be helpful to practitioners who are interested in the enhancement of effectiveness and efficiency of mentoring programs. Also it is required that more practical study should be performed for developing the system and testing its effectiveness.

  • In this thesis. we present the cyber lecture system based on XML 3-tier that uses the communication network as the internet. The system was designed to analysis the existing cyber lecture system and its details and to examine web system architecture and XML 3-tier model. With the designed system, we developed the cyber lecture system. We tested the existing system for performance and problem, then we improved the method of the cyber lecture system used by XML 3-tier Model. The cyber lecture system is offered the handiness of the cyber lecture system using web interface.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop and apply an electronic English textbook for the teaching and learning of 3rd grade students. For this purpose, the textbook was based on XML to maximize the advantages of the electronic textbook format, and avoid the disadvantages of the CD-ROM that $3^{rd}$ grade classes currently use. After electronic textbook was developed, focus group interview was implemented to confirm the effectiveness of that based on interaction, satisfaction, and interests. As a result of this study, interaction, satisfaction, and interests of students will be improved through the use of electronic textbook and it is anticipated self-directed learning ability will be improved. Also, we anticipate that the students' learning effectiveness will be enhanced.

  • Until now, the ICT have played an important role to overcome various limitations in education. The development of ICT has influenced for the changing methods of teaching and learning such as Computer-based education, Internet-based education, e-Learning. Lately, the expectation of educational evironment's changing is due to developing of the ubiquitous computing technology, it's vigorously going to be studying and implementing digital textbook including the ubiquitous features as mobility, intelligence, personality etc. the UDL is well-known as a strategy for teaching and learning using technology in the USA, first, to try understand the UDL, second, recommand the strategies in order to improve accessibility of korean digital textbook.

  • In this paper, we propose a recommendation system for supporting self-directed programming language education. The system is a recommendation system using collaborative filtering based on learners' level and stage. In this study, we design a recommendation system which uses collaborative filtering based on learners' profile of their level and correlation profile between learning topics in order to increase self-directed learning effects when students plan their learning process in e-learning environment. This system provides a way for solving a difficult problem, that is providing programming problems based on problem solving ability, in the programming language education system. As a result, it will contribute to improve the quality of education by providing appropriate programming problems in learner"s level and e-learning environment based on teaching and learning method to encourage self-directed learning.
