A Case Study on a Way of Improving the Grand Alliance Container Service Route by Incorporating Dedicated Feeders - Focusing on 'Far East-West Coast of North America' Route - (전용 피더 서비스 연계를 통한 Grand Alliance 컨테이너 서비스 항로의 운영 개선에 관한 사례 연구: '극동-북미서안' 컨테이너 서비스 항로를 중심으로)

  • Amid global economic crisis and skyrocketing oil prices, container shipping companies have raised a sustained series of efforts to reduce vessel operating costs. Under these circumstances, the Grand Alliance has decided to install the dedicated feeder instead of additional vessels in the CCX(Central China Express) and the NCE(North China Express) route. In other words, a vessel in a trunk route is transshiped by a dedicated feeder vessel in Busan port that is a transshipment port, rather than calling at Northen China port. In this study, the actual operating data of Grand Alliance container services were analyzed to determine the economic effect of transshipment through a dedicated feeder service. In this way, the Grand Alliance are saving vessel operating expenses in 'NCE' and 'CCX' routes, making the slow steaming of vessels possible in these trunk routes.

  • 임계구역을 가진 공유 메모리 기반의 병렬 프로그램에서 발생하는 경합은 프로그래머가 의도하지 않은 비결정적인 수행 결과를 초래하므로 반드시 디버깅해야 한다. 이러한 경합을 수행 중에 탐지하는 기존의 기법들은 임계구역의 실행순서에 의해서 발생하는 내부적 비결정성이 존재하지 않는 프로그램에 대해서만 경합의 존재를 검증할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 내부적 비결정성을 가진 프로그램에 존재하는 비결정적 접근사건을 정적으로 분석하고, 이 정보를 이용하여 수행 중에 경합을 탐지함으로써 잠재되어 있는 경합까지 탐지할 수 있는 도구를 제안한다. 제안한 도구는 비결정성이 포함된 합성프로그램과 공인된 OpenMP 벤치마크 프로그램인 Microbenchmark를 이용하여 경합 검증이 가능함을 보인다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the alternatives for improving coostal shipping logistics system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge. For this purpose, major environmental factors in Northeast Asia and accordingly its effects are analyzed And then the effects of coastal shipping system's development strategy is analysed using Structural Equation Model and Multiple Regression Model. Research results show that three types of coastal shipping development strategy( connected transportation system, structure of coastal shipping system, governmental support policy) will contribute much to being a logistics hub-nation. From the results, some implications are derived as follows. Firstly, environmental-friendly balanced ocean-coastal transport system is required Secondly, a excusive feeder port, Ro-Ro ship & high-speed ship are necessary to establish the one-stop logistics service system Finally, governmental support policy and subsidy(tax-exempted oil & various tax benefits) are required to reactivate lagged coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge.

  • The purpose of this research is to present the improvement measure of lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge. For this purpose, this research tries to find out major northeast asia environment factors and accordingly the effects of its. The effects of coastal shipping system's development strategy is analysed by structural equation model and multiple regression model. Research results show that three types of coastal shipping developing strategy(connected transportation system, structure of coastal shipping system, governmental support policy) will contribute much to be logistic hub-nation. The contribution effects is increasing cargo from strengthened feeder transport system and maximizing logistic service &minimizing logistic costs. From the result, some implications are derived as follow. First, familiar environmental balanced ocean-coastal transport system is required. Second the one-stop logistic service system is necessary to build excusive feeder port, and to establish Ro-Ro ship & high-speed ship, etc.. Third, governmental support policy and subsidy(tax exempted oil & various tax benefits) are required to bring up lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge.

  • If we know the location of the hull block and the welding feeder in the shipyard, we can easily obtain the location information of the worker. That data is very useful for implementing a workplace safety monitoring system. However, it is difficult to apply a fixed communication network to the workplace due to the specificity of the hull structure and welding process. In this study, inductive power line communication, which can replace dedicated communication line, was reviewed. A ferrite core was used as an inductive coupler to be installed on the power cable of the welding machine, and a nano-crystalline core was applied as a coupler to be fastened to the support rod of the metal block. In order to visualize the operating principle of the proposed couplers, 3D modeling and finite element analysis were performed with the COMSOL AC/DC module. In the communication performance test using an aluminum profile, when the communication channel was formed by the contact of the welding electrode, the bandwidth was kept above 6 Mbps.

  • Under the influence of ever-globalized world economy, Yangsan Port of Shanghai, a central hub of Chinese economy, was opened up on Dec. 1, 2005 in the expectation of heart of northeast Asian harbor logistics. It has triggered severer competitions among northeast Asian ports. In an effort to keep robust standing as a central port of northeast Asia, Korea has still built additional new ports and opened up 3 docks in Nov. 2005. Amid these changing port environments, it is foremost to take the competitive edges of new ports in advance of major rival ports in the interest of preoccupying the standing of those new ports as the central hub of northeast logistics. According to the developmental strategies of new ports can be summed up as follows: First, it is required to separate port development from marketing as a part of separating developmental entity from management/maintenance entity. Second, it is required to develop dedicated port for feeder vessels along with new ports to save more time and cost spent by shipping companies. Third, the attraction of jumbo shipping companies to port development needs differentiated countermeasures for each shipping company, and those measures should be taken in advance before jumbo shippers decide their own shipping strategies in future. Fourth, in terms of incentives for attracting jumbo shipping companies, it is required to offer the incentives to them in using new ports in connection with Busan ports. Fifth, it is critical to set up a benchmark of competitors(ports) for establishing one-stop automatic administration process system upon developing ports. Finally, it is required to prepare a plan for using rearward lands in connection with ports for more efficient use of development complex behind port.

  • Due to have been more keen in East-North Asia Hub Port competition, to be accelerated Busan New Port development, and to result to supply excess position, Busan port has been confronted by many problems. Also, as facilities of North Port is old, it is impossible to secure 16m depth of water at North Port, and North Port redevelopment is being, container traffic of North Port is accelerated to shift at New Port. Therefore, it. is time to seek for connection growth plan of succeeding together-Busan North & New Port as soon as possible. Connection growth plan of succeeding together-Busan North & New Port is focused, as follows. First, it is required to set up model for connection growth plan of succeeding together-Busan North & New Port. It is valid to specialize for ULCC, to promote to global port at New Port, and it is effective to focus on feeder service and general cargo handling, and to include most space to North Port redevelopment. Second, through port function reorganization, it is required to create a synergy by port function clustering. Third, through effective connection traffic network expansion for moving T/S cargo effectively, it is required to develop Busan Port for T/S cargo-focused port. Fourth, it is required to develop port hinterland logistics zone for creating container traffic through connection development of New Port-BJFEZ. Finally, it is required to build SCM system for creating container traffic among shipper, carrier, freight forwarder and related institution.
