  • Body ownership illusion (BOI), which means 'the illusion that a non-bodily object feels like my body', has been actively studied since the Rubber-hand Illusion showed that a person can feel a rubber hand like one's own hand. It has been proven that BOI can be elicited for virtual bodies in virtual reality. Although many studies have been examined the effect of visuomotor (VM) and visuotactile (VT) stimuli, which are mainly used for the elicitation of BOI, there were very limited studies that delivered both stimuli to the whole body at the same time. In this paper, we investigated how each stimulus affects BOI when delivering VM and VT stimulisimultaneously to the virtual avatar, and examined user experience that appears as presence, emotion, and virtual motion sickness. The results showed that BOI was high when VM is synchronous, but there was no significant difference according to VT levels. In the case of presence, it was confirmed that VT affects only when VM is synchronous, and in the case of emotion, both VM and VT affect valence, and in the case of virtual motion sickness, a statistical difference is not found. These results suggest that overall synchrony of VM is important factor in BOI with virtual avatars, but that the matching VT affects subjective experience such as presence when VM is synchronous.

  • Determining of the exercise intensity is very important in terms of induction of low fatigue during exercise. Little information is available on the contraction level of the trunk muscles during whole body tilts with and without axial rotation. This study was to investigate the difference muscle activation level according to axial rotation. Twenty subjects were participated. The muscle activities of the five trunk muscles were bilaterally measured at eight axial rotation angles with 12 tilt angles along $15^{\circ}$ intervals. The results showed that tilt with $45^{\circ}$ axial rotation was more balanced in the same tilt angle and was maintained approximately level of 40% MVC at over $60^{\circ}$ tilt angle with respect to co-contraction of abdominal and back muscle. Lumbar stabilization exercise using whole body tilts would be more effective with axial rotation than without axial rotation in terms of muscle co-contraction.

  • To investigate the perception of the correlation between systemic diseases and oral health among some university students. The questionnaires were conducted on 485 students from 3 universities in Gwangju. As a result of the study, the female was higher than the male and was the highest in the fourth grade. Subjective health status, drinking status, smoking experience, and exercise were not significantly different in recognizing the association between systemic disease and oral health. The group with experience in oral health education recognized 3.18, and the group that practiced educational contents was highly recognized as 3.21. There was a significant difference between the two groups. Multiple regression analysis showed that major factor and grade factor influenced the perception of association between systemic disease and oral health. Therefore, it is necessary for university students to recognize the importance and necessity of periodical oral examinations. It is thought that the incidence of disease should be strengthened and enforced to recognize that there is a correlation with various diseases.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for confirming the convergence relationship between flexibility exercise on quality of life, oral condition, and oral health-related behavior. Data from the 2012 KNHNES were used, and complex sample linear regression analysis and logistic regression analysis were performed to confirm the effects of flexibility exercise on quality of life and oral health. As a result, those who controlled for demographic characteristics and did not exercise flexibility had .027 times worse exercise ability among the subcategories of quality of life, and .152 times higher number of carious permanent teeth. Among the symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder, pain symptoms were 1.633 times higher in those who exercised flexibility (p<.05). Therefore, it is considered that flexibility exercise has value in that it has suggested a relationship not only with general health but also with oral health.

  • The purposes of this study were to determine the functions of actions of the limbs during each of the three support phases of the triple jump and their relationships with the performance of the triple jump. Four elite male triple jumpers were participated as subjects. The statistical analyses used were the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient for establishing relationships and simple regression analyses to determine and compare the relationships between the change of the horizontal velocity and the change of the vertical velocity during different support phases. A level of significance at p<.05 was set. The actions of the arms were responsible for about 25%, 25%, and 30% of the decrease in the horizontal velocity of the whole body center of gravity during the support phases of the hop, step, and jump, respectively. The change in the velocities of the whole body center of gravity due to the actions of the free limbs were significantly related with the whole body center of gravity during each support phase. The action of the support leg was associated with the decrease in the horizontal velocity and the increase in the vertical velocity of the whole body center of gravity during each support phase.

  • This study analyzed the influence of Qigong exercise intervention upon a change in glucose, blood lipid, and SFT(senior fitness test) of elderly women and to closely examine the efficacy of a Qigong exercise intervention to promote the health of older women. As research subjects, 24 elderly women aged over 80 were divided into Qigong group(n=12) and control group(n=12), respectively, and the program was carried out for 60 minutes per a day, five times per week for 24 weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 20.0, repeated measures ANOVA. The Qigong group had a significantly lower glucose level than the control group. Second, the blood lipid and neutral fat(TG) was reduced significantly in the Qigong group than the control group. The total cholesterol(TC), high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C) did not show a significant difference. Third, as for SFT, the leg strength, leg flexibility, and total body endurance were significantly higher in the Qigong group than in the control group. Therefore, Qigong has an influence on the reduction in glucose and neutral fat(TG) and upon the improvement in SFT(leg strength, leg flexibility, and total body endurance) of elderly women, and may show effectiveness as an exercise prescription program for older women.
