  • The purpose of this study is to propose a method for evaluating the similarity of Show gardens using Deep Learning models, specifically VGG-16 and ResNet50. A model for judging the similarity of show gardens based on VGG-16 and ResNet50 models was developed, and was referred to as DRG (Deep Recognition of similarity in show Garden design). An algorithm utilizing GAP and Pearson correlation coefficient was employed to construct the model, and the accuracy of similarity was analyzed by comparing the total number of similar images derived at 1st (Top1), 3rd (Top3), and 5th (Top5) ranks with the original images. The image data used for the DRG model consisted of a total of 278 works from the Le Festival International des Jardins de Chaumont-sur-Loire, 27 works from the Seoul International Garden Show, and 17 works from the Korea Garden Show. Image analysis was conducted using the DRG model for both the same group and different groups, resulting in the establishment of guidelines for assessing show garden similarity. First, overall image similarity analysis was best suited for applying data augmentation techniques based on the ResNet50 model. Second, for image analysis focusing on internal structure and outer form, it was effective to apply a certain size filter (16cm × 16cm) to generate images emphasizing form and then compare similarity using the VGG-16 model. It was suggested that an image size of 448 × 448 pixels and the original image in full color are the optimal settings. Based on these research findings, a quantitative method for assessing show gardens is proposed and it is expected to contribute to the continuous development of garden culture through interdisciplinary research moving forward.

  • Modern museum, along with the basic roles of a museum that display to the public through the exhibition of physical evidences that collected, preserved and researched about human environment, it is changing in a way to appropriately fulfill the desire of new culture of the public and to fit the paradigm of the digital era. Diversification of expression method using multimedia played a big role in effective meaning delivery and technology development made possible for interaction-able of digital media build up and application to made possible of interactive communication for visitors. If the main purpose of the past museum exhibition was the delivery of information and knowledge, modern museum's exhibit has been identified as the purpose being diversified through the use of digital media. Exhibition planner, as for museum exhibition that used many characteristics of the digital media as mentioned above, should plan so that past unfamiliar relic can communicate with us living in the modern society. But obsessive usage of the digital media should not shade the interest of the visitors towards the relic in overall exhibition; and what is most important is that other than the exhibition and exhibit, enforcement of translation through systematic coherent approach and its appropriate digital technology and creative application and harmony are more important.

  • Jewelry Object to adorn a body with has been a very important culture since the primitive age when history of human beings started. Ornaments for social status or wealth's symbolic icon otherwise for private embellishment have been developed with various properties such as decorative, monetary, scarce, historic ones. However, since the latter 20th century, when intellecture concept was more valuable than the tradition laying emphasis on preciousness, with counting of artistic activities and aesthetic values, they have had expressionistic tendency centered on artists. In this manner, modern ornaments have been developed as an artistic genre deviating from traditional way in which material or technology was emphasized. While this expressionistic tendency emphasized artistic value, galleries only for ornaments have been started since 1960s and especially from this period, a lot of experimental and revolutionary ornaments works deviating from traditional way have been exhibited. The appearance of galleries specialized in ornaments as described above had a great influence on the ornaments' development to an artistic genre. This study is the one in respect of two exhibition types through the combination of human body and clothes in displaying ornaments. The first one represents active displaying way for the communication with audience by introducing fashion show to galleries deviating from general exhibition way. The second one plans to run a project collaborating fashion brand for the communication between ornaments and clothes and represents displaying way in the shop of fashion brand for active exhibition publicity.

  • In a military maintenance system, the standard maintenance man-hour of weapon systems is a tool to estimate the maintenance capabilities of maintenance units, provide standards for determining the maintenance needs and workload, and provide basic data for establishing a maintenance plan. The standard maintenance man-hours of major weapon systems have already been derived and used, but the standard maintenance man-hour in a wartime maintenance environment has not been computed. Therefore, the standard wartime maintenance man-hours need to be derived and This study proposes a process and method of computing the maintenance man-hours. In addition, this work suggests the criteria of collecting and screening data that is necessary for estimating the standard maintenance man-hours and introduces a methodology for analyzing the characteristics of maintenance man-hour distribution in the process. The proposed process first designs a model that reflects the wartime maintenance environment, selects statistical techniques, collects maintenance data, analyzes the descriptive statistics, estimates the distribution, and finally presents representative values of maintenance man-hour. Based on the proposed method, the standard wartime maintenance man-hours of the four weapon systems were calculated, and the distribution of the maintenance man-hours was analyzed to follow a lognormal distribution, and the method presented reliable results.

  • In this paper, we present a haptic virtual exhibition space that allows users to interact with 3D graphic objects not only through the sense of sight but also through the sense of touch. The haptic virtual exhibition space offers users in different places some efficient ways to experience the exhibitions of a virtual musical museum using the basic human senses of perception, such as vision, audition, and touch. Depending on 3D graphic objects, we apply different properties to let those feel realistic. We also provide haptic device based navigation which prevents users from rushing between various interfaces: keyboard and mouse. The haptic virtual museum is based on Client-Server architecture and clients are represented in the 3D space in the form of avatars. In this paper, we mainly discuss the design of the haptic virtual exhibition space in detail and in the end, we provide performance analysis in comparison to other similar applications such as QTVR and VRML).
