A Study on an Efficient Routing Scheme for using a priority scheme in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 우선순위 기법을 이용한 효율적인 경로 설정에 대한 연구)

  • Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) have shown a lot of good outcomes in providing a various functions depending on industrial expectations by deploying ad-hoc networking with helps of light loaded and battery powered sensor nodes. In particular, it is strongly requested to develop an algorithm of cross-layer control between 2-layer and 3-layer to deriver the sensing data from the end node to the sink node on time. In this paper, based on the above observation we have proposed an IEEE802.15.4 based self priority routing scheme under UC Berkely TinyOS platform. The proposed beacon based priority routing (BPR) algorithm scheme utilizes beacon periods in sending message with embedding the high priority data and thus provides high quality of service(QoS) in the given criteria. The performance measures are the packet Throughput, delivery, latency, total energy consumption. Simulation results under TinyOS Simulator(TOSSIM) have shown the proposed scheme outcome the conventional Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV) Routing.

  • A sensor network is an important element of the ubiquitous and it consists of sensor fields that contain sensor nodes and sink nodes that collect data from sensor nodes. Since each sensor node has limited resources, one of the important issues covered in the past sensor network studies has been maximizing the usage of limited energy to extend network lifetime. However, most studies have only considered fixed sink nodes, which created various problems for cases with multiple mobile sink nodes. Accordingly, while maintaining routes to mobile sink nodes, this study aims to deploy the hybrid communication mode that combines single and multi-hop modes for intra-cluster and inter-cluster transmission to resolve the problem of failed data transmission to mobile sink nodes caused by disconnected routes. Furthermore, a 2-level hierarchical routing protocol was used to reduce the number of sensor nodes participating in data transmission, and cross-shape trajectory forwarding was employed in packet transmission to provide an efficient data dissemination method.

A Practical TCP-friendly Rate Control Scheme for SVC Video Transport (SVC 비디오 전송을 위한 실용적인 TCP 친화적 전송률 제어 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a practical TCP friendly rate control scheme that considers the minimum channel bandwidth of the network when transporting SVC (scalable video coding) video over IP netowrks such as Internet. RTP and RTCP is mainly designed for use with UDP (User Datagram Protocol) for real-time video transport over the Internet. TCP-friendly rate control was proposed to satisfy the demands of multimedia applications while being reasonably fair when competing for bandwidth with conventional TCP applications. However the rate control model of the conventional TCP-friendly rate control scheme does not consider the minimum channel bandwidth of the network. Thus the estimated channel bandwidth by the conventional rate control model might be quite different from the real channel bandwidth when the packet loss ratio of the network is very large. In this paper, we propose a modified TCP-friendly rate control scheme that considers the minimum channel bandwidth of the network. Based on the modified TCP-friendly rate control, we assign the minimum channel bandwidth to the base layer bitstream of SVC video, and remaining available bandwidth is allocated to the enhancement layer of SVC video for the TCP friendly scalable video transmission. It is shown by simulations that the modified TCP-friendly rate control scheme can be effectively used for a wider range of controlled bit rates depending on the packet loss ratio than the conventional TCP-friendly control scheme. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in terms of objective video quality is proved by comparing PSNR performance with the conventional scheme.

  • 지상파 방송(DMB: Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)은 음성, 영상, 데이터와 같은 다양한 멀티미디어 신호를 디지털 방식으로 변조하여 이동 중에 방송을 청취 할 수 있는 차세대 디지털방송 서비스이다. 하지만 한정된 대역폭으로 인한 비디오 전송율의 한계에 따라 최대 CIF(Common Interleaved Frame)급 화면해상도까지 서비스가 가능하다. 그러나 지상파 DMB 전송 고도화망에서는 계층 변조(Hierarchical Modulation)전송 기법을 통하여 추가의 전송대역폭을 확보할 수 있다. 또한 스케일러블 비디오 코딩(Scalable Video Coding)부호화 방식을 이용하여 고전송효율/고품질의 이동 멀티미디어 방송서비스를 제공할 수 있는 고품질 AT(Advanced Terrestrial)-DMB 시스템이 가능하다. 이러한 고품질 AT-DMB의 개발에 있어서 여러 방식들이 제시됨에 따라 시뮬레이터를 통한 다중화 시스템의 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 고품질 AT-DMB가 가능한 스케일러블 비디오 방식을 JM8.8을 사용하여 구현하였으며, 다중화 시스템의 실험을 하였다. 또한 시뮬레이터를 통하여 확보된 계층 간의 화질 차이와 엔지니어를 위해 비트스트림의 분석화면 및 PSNR을 제공 하였다.

Hierarchical transmission using morphology and vector quantization (모폴로지와 벡터 양자화를 사용한 영상의 계층적 전송)

  • Morphology is a shape preseving filter. Several morphology filter can be made by the combination of morphological basic operation. If we use morphology filter in decimation process for a hierarchical encoder, there are some advantagesin reduction aliasing effects. In this paper, we propose a new hierarchical coder with morphological filtering and vector quantization. And then, firstly, we confirm that CO filtering is the best one among the 4 kinds of morphology filters to reduce aliasing effects in Laplacian pyramid transmission proposed by Burt. Secondly, the those two coders was compared. The results of our simulation show that our new coder surpasser the Laplacian pyramid especially in complex images.

  • During data transmissions via Bluetooth networks, data to be encrypted, or plain text between the application layer and the device layer, can be hacked similar to a key-logger by the major function hooking technique of Windows Kernel Driver. In this paper, we introduce an improved protection module which provides data encryption transmission by modifying the data transmission driver of the Bluetooth device layer, and also suggest a self-protecting scheme which prevents data exposure by various hacking tools. We implement the protection module to verify the confidentiality guarantee. Our protection module which provides data encryption with minimal latency can be expected the widespread utilization in Bluetooth data transmission.

  • In the transmission system, the transmission efficiency can be increased by applying the proper character coding method. This paper is to show the character coding rule in computer and information equipment etc to improve the transmission efficiency in datacommunications. The character coding rule showing in this paper was suggested by considering the two view points. First one is FLAG bits in HDLC and PPP protocol on datalink layer in OSI 7 layer. Second one is one of the scrambling method, HDB-3, on physical layer in OSI 7 layer. The former is to prevent the sequence of over 5bits of "1" in the character codes. The latter is to prevent the sequence of over 4bits of "0" in the character codes.

  • 정보화 사회로의 변천에 따른 앞으로의 전송망은 각종 데이터 서비스 수용을 위하여 효과적인 대용량 신호전송, 수요 변경에 따른 회선 리루팅, 전송로상의 소요채널 직접액세스 등에 대처할 수 있는 능럭을 갖추어야 한다. 현재 이용되고 있는 비동기 다중 및 전송장치들로는 이들의 특성상 효과적인 망운용이 어려우므로 효율적인 전송망 구축을 위한 새로운 개념의 동기 전송방식이 도입되고 있다. 본고에서는 통합된 전송신호의 전달 및 액세스의 실현을 위하여 미국과 일본에서 추진하고 있는 동기전송계층 신호 및 동기 광전송 시스팀에 대한 기술등향에 대해 분석하였다.

Effiient Key Distribution for Layered video Multicast (계층 비디오 멀티캐스트를 위한 효율적인 키 분배 방법)

  • 멀티캐스트 데이터의 기밀성을 유지하기 위해서는 멀티캐스트 데이터를 그룹의 공동키로 암호화하여 전송하여야 한다. 그러나 멤버가 멀티캐스트 그룹에 동적으로 가입하거나 탈퇴하는 경우에는 그룹의 공통키를 변경하기 위해 필요한 계산량과 메시지의 수가 그룹의 크기에 비례해 커지는 규모확장성 문제에 봉착하게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 그룹의 멤버나 키에 계층 구조를 두는 여러 가지 방법들이 제안된바 있으나 계층 멀티캐스트에 적용할 수 있는 방법은 아직 제안된 바가 없다. 본 논문에서는 계층 비디오 멀티캐스트 환경에 적용할 수 있는 두가지의 그룹 키 분배 방법을 제안한다. 첫 번째 방법은 각 계층에 대해 별도의 키 계층 구조를 유지하는 계층별 키트리 방법이며 두 번째 방법은 하나의 공통 키트리를 유지하고 각 계층을 공통 키트리상의 서브트리로 유지하는 통합 키트리 방법이다. 성능분석결과 멤버가 그룹에 가입해 있는 동안 계층 상승을 자주하는 경우는 계층별 키트리 방법이 유리하며 계층의 개수가 많고 계층 상승이 잦지 않은 경우는 통합 키트리 방법이 효율적이다.

A QoS Aware multi-layer MAC(QAML-MAC) Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks (무선센서네트워크에서 QoS 지원을 위한 다중계층 MAC 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose an QoS aware multi-layer MAC(QAML-MAC) protocol in a wireless sensor networks. Since the proposed protocol is based on the sleep-awake architecture, which save node's energy to prolong the entire network lifetime. For this purpose the QAML-MAC first classifies incoming data according to their transmission urgency and then saves them. The protocol also adapts the cross-layer concept to re-arrange the order of transmission with the same destination. So the delay can be decreased, which can not be obtained with the previous related protocols. And high priority data such as real-time multimedia or critical value in the field monitoring applications can be transmitted quickly, Furthermore the proposed protocol has advantage of decreasing transmitted data collisions using multiple layers of idle listening when there is no high-priority data. So energy consumptions of sensor nodes can be saved and the network lifetime can be prolonged.
