비압축성 Navier Stokes 방정식을 이용한 2차원 터빈 익렬내의 난류유동해석 (Incompressible Turbulent Flow Simulation of the Rotor-Stator Configuration)

  • 터빈익렬내부의 유동해석을 위해 비압축성 점성유동해석을 이용한 수치 해석 프로그램을 개발하였다. 지배방정식으로는 2차원의 비정상 비압축성 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 일반화된 곡선좌표계로 전환하여 암시적으로(implicitly) 반복적인 시간진행방법을 이용하여 유동해석을 하였다. 지배방정식의 각항들은 시간에 대해 1차의 정확도 그리고 영역에 대해서는 2차의 정확도, 대류항에 대해서는 3차의 정확도를 가지는 Upwind기법을 적용하였다. 특히, 실험적 접근이 매우 어려운 터빈의 정익과 회전하고 있는 동익과의 상호운동을 멀티블럭기법과 데이터 interface를 통해 보다 쉽게 해석할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 정익만을 계산한 타 연구자의 결과와의 비교시 매우 일치하였으며 물리적인 유동을 잘 파악할 수 있었다. 난류유동 해석을 위해서 Baldwin-Lomax 모델을 적용하였다.

인공심장 sac내의 3차원 유체-구조물 상호작용에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical analysis of the 3D fluid-structure interaction in the sac of artificial heart)

  • In this study, the three-dimensional blood flow within the sac of KTAH(Korean artificial heart) is simulated using fluid-structure interaction model. The numerical method employed in this study is the finite element commercial package ADINA. The thrombus formation is one of the most critical problems in KTAH. High fluid shear stress or stagnated flow are believed to be the main causes of these disastrous phenomenon. We solved the fluid-structure interaction between the 3D blood flow in the sac and the surrounding sac material. The sac material is assumed as linear elastic material and the blood as incompressible viscous fluid. Numerical solutions show that high shear stress region and stagnated flow are found near the upper part of the sac and near the comer of the outlet during diastole stage.

  • This article described that a high Reynolds number version of a turbulence model was modified by using drag reduction to analyze the turbulent flows of non-Newtonian fluid with visco-elastic viscosity and it was applied hemodynamics which was representative of visco-elastic fluid. The turbulence characteristics of visco-elastic fluid was expanded viscous sublayer region and buffer layer region by drag reduction phenomenon and also Newtonian turbulence models does not predict because viscosity was related with shear rate of fluid flow. Hence numerical simulation using a modified turbulence model was conducted under the same conditions that were applied to obtain the experiment results and previous turbulence models and then the numerical investigation of turbulent blood flow in the stenosed artery bifurcation under periodic acceleration of the human body.

  • A fluid transient analysis for the propellant flow in a monopropellant propulsion system is conducted using the method of characteristics (MOC). Algebraic simultaneous equations method and Clamor's rule method utilized to drive the compatible and characteristic equations are reviewed to understand MOC more extensively. The identification of fluid transient phenomena of propulsion system of Koreasat 1 is carried out through parametric studies. Also this work describes the reason that the propulsion system of Koreasat 1 has no orifice to control flow transients or to limit the initial hydrazine flow rate for the first-pulse firing.

점탄성 유체의 부력에 의한 열전달 수치해석 (Numerical analysis on heat transfer due to buoyancy force of viscoelastic fluid)

  • The present study investigates flow character and heat transfer behaviors of viscoelastic non-Newtonian fluid in a 2:1 rectangular duct. An axially-constant heat flux on bottom wall and peripherally constant temperature boundary condition(H1) was adopted. The Reiner-Rivlin fluid model is used as the normal stress model for the viscoelastic fluid and temperature-dependent viscosity model is adopted. The present results show a signifiant change of the main flow field which causes a large heat transfer enhancement. This phenomena can be explained by the combined effect of buoyancy, temperature-dependent viscosity and viscoelastic property on the flow.

전자기력에 의한 자성유체의 구동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Magnetic Fluid driven by Electromagnetic Force)

  • Numerical analysis is conducted on the deformation of free surface of magnetic fluid. Steady magnetic fields are induced by a circular current loop. Governing equations of magnetic fields are solved by using the concept of vector potential. The free surface of magnetic fluid is formed by the balance of surface force, gravity, pressure difference, magnetic normal pressure and magnetic body force. The deformations of free surface of magnetic fluid are qualitatively clarified. And, the patterns of steady non-uniform magnetic fields induced by a circular current loop are quantitatively presented. The shape of free surface attained by the polar fluid approach is rougher and higher than that attained by the quasi-steady approach.

  • A fluid transient analysis on the Koreasat 1 & 2 pipeline system is conducted through numerical parametric studies in which unsteady friction results are compared with quasi-steady friction results and show relatively accurate prediction of the response curve with the unsteady friction. The code developed and used in this analysis has finished verification through comparing with the original Zielke model, the full and recursive convolution model and quasi-steady model as a reference. The unsteady friction is calculated by the recursive convolution Zielke model in which a complete evolution history of velocity field is no longer required so that it makes the fluid transient analysis on the complicated system possible. The results show that the application of quasi-steady friction to model cannot predict the entire response curve properly except the first peak amplitude but the application of unsteady friction to model can predict reasonably the response curve, therefore it is to know the characteristics of the propulsion system.

3차 B-spline 함수를 이용한 열전도 및 유체문제의 해석 (Analysis for computing heat conduction and fluid problems using cubic B-spline function)

  • We make use of cubic B-spline interpolation function in two cases: heat conduction and fluid flow problems. Cubic B-spline test function is employed because it is superior to approximation of linear and non-linear problems. We investigated the accuracy of the numerical formulation and focused on the position of the breakpoints within the computational domain. When the domain is divided by partitions of equal space, the results show poor accuracy. For the case of a heat conduction problem this partition can not reflect the temperature gradient which is rapidly changed near the wall. To correct the problem, we have more grid points near the wall or the region which has a rapid change of variables. When we applied the unequally spaced breakpoints, the results show high accuracy. Based on the comparison of the linear problem, we extended to the highly non-linear fluid flow problems.

  • 지형 및 환경에 따라 해안 사면의 침식, 세굴을 막기 위한 효과 있는 해안구조물의 설치가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 유체-구조 상호작용을 고려해서 유한요소해석 프로그램인 LS-DYNA를 사용하여 조파 실험모델링을 하고, 해안사석구조물과 상호작용에 의한 유체 흐름을 분석하였다. 사석의 유무와 크기, 개수 등의 변수를 조정하여 서로 다른 4가지 경우에 따른 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 또한 해안사석구조물을 구성하는 투수 콘크리트의 특성 분석을 위하여 CT 이미지를 사용하여 투수 콘크리트의 공극 분포를 관찰하였다. 투수 콘크리트의 특성에 큰 영향을 미치는 공극 분포의 파악을 위하여 확률 분포 함수를 사용하여 투수 콘크리트 공극의 공간적 분포를 분석하였다.

  • A fluid transient analysis on the pipe network of bipropellant propulsion system is conducted through numerical parametric studies in which unsteady friction results are compared with quasi-steady friction results and also show the pressure drop results during the liquid apogee engine firing. The fluid transient analysis program has verified through comparing with the original Zielke model, the full and recursive convolution model and quasi-steady model as a reference. And the pressure drop program also has verified through comparing with results of the well-known program, EPANET2. The bipropellant propulsion system has two different fluids as fuel and oxidizer, and mostly they are hypergolic combination so that the valve opening and closing of the thrusters, that cause the pressure waves, shall take place simultaneously to get proper performance. The different physical properties of the fuel and oxidizer result in the different responsive to the same valve opening and closing. The response results may be helpful to know the characteristics of the bipropellant propulsion system and design it.
