장대교 내풍설계를 위한 풍동실험

  • 본 고에서는 현재 설계 완료 상태에 있는 서대해대교 사장교의 내풍설계를 위한 풍동실험을 중심으로 풍동실험의 계획단계에서부터 제작방법, 교량가설 지점에서의 기류형태에 대한 MODELING 방법, 풍동실험의 전반적 방법, 난류상태에서의 실험결과 등을 소개하였다. Computer로부터 계산된 고유진동수를 비교한 결과, 그 값이 잘 일치함으로써 모형제작이 우수한 것으로 판단되었다. 교량 자체의 안정성은 100년 빈도 풍속을 기준으로 안전율이 약 2.4를 유지함으로써 매우 안정한 것으로 입증되었고, Vortex Shedding 진동현상도 보이지 않음으로써 교형단면 형상은 적절히 선정되었음이 밝혀졌다. 따라서, 본 실험에서 사용된 방법 및 경험은 향후 건설될 장대교에 대한 내풍설계용 풍동실험에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

Design and Evaluation of a Gateway to Faculty Syllabi in Computer Science (인터넷 대학강의안 전산학분야 메타데이터 시스템 구축 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate a metadata system for internet-based syllabi in computer science. The study constructed two prototype systems for the experiment. One was constructed using only Dubline Core (DC) elements and the other was a DC-expanded system with additional eight elements that are not the part of DC elements. The thlrty subjects were chosen from those who majored in Computer Science. Two retrieval tasks were assigned to them. One was to find syllabi in which they are' interested and the other was to find relevant course syllabi for a given course title. After the search, they were asked to evaluate the systems in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and their satisfaction of the system. The result of the first experiment indicates that DC-based system performed significantly better in terms of search time and DC-expanded system in terms of satisfaction measure. An additional experiment was conducted to test efficiency of the browsing categories. The interview with subjects was carried out to find any difficulties associated with the current browsing scheme. The subjects expressed much1 satisfaction about assigning a course to multiple browsing categories.

Computational Modeling and Analysis of Ablative Composites Using Micro-tomographic Images (미세 단층 영상을 이용한 삭마 복합재료의 전산 모델링 및 해석)

  • In this study, Image-based computational analysis using the developed models was performed to predict the degradation of effective properties by ablation. The ablation tests of carbon/phenolic composites were performed using a 0.4 MW arc-heated wind tunnel. The carbon/phenolic composite samples were scanned using the micro-computed tomography (Micro-CT) to analyze the ablation characteristics according to a duration time of the ablation test. By calibrating the scanned images, computational models were developed that reflect the actual microstructure of the ablation composites. Also, nine computational models that reflect the actual pore shape were developed using the created cross-sectional images. Image-based computational analysis using the developed models was performed to predict the degradation of effective properties by ablation and the decrease of effective properties was confirmed with increase of porosity.

Analysis of Aerodynamic Characteristics for Guided Gliding Type Ammunition Using Computational Analysis and Wind Tunnel Test (전산해석 및 풍동시험을 이용한 유도형 활공탄약의 공력해석)

  • In this study aerodynamic characteristics of guided gliding type ammunition were investigated by using a computational analysis and wind tunnel test. Missile DATCOM, a semi-empirical method, and a FLUENT, a computational fluid dynamics analysis program, were used for computational analysis. For a guided gliding type ammunition, aerodynamic characteristics were investigated by calculating lift force, drag force, pitching moment and etc. Aerodynamic characteristics of guided gliding type ammunition are completely different from those of conventional ammunition. The results obtained from the computer analysis are similar to those obtained from the wind tunnel test. Although the pitch moment values obtained by the semi-empirical method were slightly different from the wind tunnel test results, the overall computer analysis results showed trends and values similar to the test results. In this study, aerodynamic characteristics of guided gliding type ammunition were identified and it found that semi-empirical method can be applied to analyze the aerodynamic characteristic in the initial design of guided gliding ammunition.

  • Recently, the mathematical analysis of stent simulation has been improved, with the help of development of various tool which measure mechanical property and location of stent in artery. The most crucial part of the stent modeling is how to design ideal stent and to evaluate the interaction between stent and artery. While there has been great deal of researches on the evaluation of the expansion, stress distribution, deformation of the stent in terms of the various parameters, few verification through computer simulation has been performed about deformation and stress distribution of the stent. In this study, we have produced the corresponding results between experimental test using Universal Testing Machine and computer simulation for the ideal model of stent. Also, we have analyzed and compared stress distribution of stent in the cases of that with membrane and that without membrane. The results of this study would provide minimum change of plan and good quality for ideal stent replacing damaged artery through the analysis using computer simulation in the early stage of stent design.

Base Isolator의 제작 및 특성실험

  • 본 실험에서는 가장 널리 쓰이는 base isolator의 한 종류로서 laminated rubber bearing을 제작하여 정적 및 동적 특성실험을 수행하였다. 앞에서 간략하게 언급한 실험결과에 대한 분석자료는 상부구조물과 기초와의 분리를 목적으로 본 실험에서 제작한 base isolator의 활용가능성을 검증하였다. 일반적으로 base isolator가 갖는 특성을 대부분 포함하고 있지만 본 실험결과에서 얻은 개선점은 i) 수직강성의 보강 ii) mounting plate와의 볼트연결부분 보완 iii) 최대전단변형을 증가시키기 위해 base isolator의 전체높이 조정 등으로 요약할 수 있다.
