  • This research aims to adapt and evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (K-IEPS). The original IEPS was translated into Korean according to the World Health Organization's guidelines. A total of 302 questionnaires were collected from healthcare professional students at 4 universities in South Korea. The validity and reliability of the scale were measured using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Cronbach's alpha, and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). As a result of the factor analysis, a ten-item scale with two factors (Competency & Autonomy and Perception of Actual Cooperation) was achieved. Additionally, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was found to be .87, and test-retest reliability was .83. Our study results show that the Korean version of the IEPS is a valid and reliable instrument. Therefore, the K-IEPS can be used in measuring interdisciplinary perceptions of healthcare professional students between different occupational groups.

  • This study is a descriptive survey study to identify the relationship between nurse-nurse cooperation, nurse-doctor cooperation, and professional self-concept perceived by nursing students among nursing students with clinical practice experience. The subjects of the study were 140 nursing students, and the collected data were descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and regression analysis of the factors influencing professional self-concept. As a result of the study, professional self-concept was positively correlated with nurse-nurse cooperation and nurse-doctor cooperation, and the influencing factor of professional self-concept was nurse-nurse cooperation, with explanatory power of 48.0%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing professional self-concept of nursing students, it is necessary to develop an educational program to enhance cooperation between professionals to promote the cooperative relationship between nurses and nurses, and to develop a curriculum for the development and application of simulation scenarios for cooperation between professionals based on clinical field cases.

Furthermore, the outcomes of these IPE programs were evaluated. Methods: A scoping review was performed to understand the content and methods of IPE on medication for undergraduate healthcare students, including nursing students. A literature search was done using PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Embase, Research Information Sharing Service, and Korean Nursing Database in English between January 2000 and December 2022. In total, 14 papers were selected and reviewed. Results: Eleven research studies were conducted on the implementation of one-time IPE on medication safety or errors. Among them, six studies focused on providing IPE to nursing students alongside medical and pharmacy students, while three studies targeted nursing and medical students, and two studies focused on nursing and pharmacy students. The most commonly employed educational method was simulation, which was utilized in 12 studies. All studies consistently reported a positive impact on attitudes toward IPE and effective communication. Additionally, five studies evaluating medication knowledge reported improvements in participants' understanding of drugs. Conclusion: The effects of IPE related to medication for undergraduate nursing students have been confirmed. It is necessary to introduce IPE in the field of pharmacology.
