과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 신장을 위한 자기 진단 프로그램 개발 연구 -지구과학 내용을 중심으로-

  • 본 연구에서는 교사 스스로 느끼는 평가에 대한 거부감을 최소화하면서 바람직한 평가 전문성 신장 방향과 방법을 제공할 수 있도록 과학교사를 대상으로 한 학생 평가 전문성 자기 진단 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이 프로그램은 자기반성적 관점에서 과학교사 스스로 자신의 학생 평가 전문성을 진단할 수 있는 도구와 이를 이용하여 얻은 진단 결과를 바탕으로 학생 평가 전문성 수준을 가늠해 볼 수 있는 학생 평가 전문성 등급 평정 척도와 학생 평가 전문성 신장을 위한 안내로 구성되어 있다. 이 프로그램을 개발하기 위해 본 연구에서는 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성의 개념을 탐색하고, 바람직한 학생 평가 전문성 신장의 방향과 방법을 모색하였다. 또한 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 요소를 추출하여 범주별로 정리한 다음 학생 평가 전문성 요소별로 구체적인 수준과 상태를 제시한 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 기준을 마련하였다. 마련된 기준을 근거로 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 자기 진단 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 문헌연구와 더불어 수차례의 과학교육전문가 검토 및 협의, 학교 현장 교사들의 검토 및 협의를 거치면서 수정${\cdot}$보완하는 과정을 거쳤다. 본 연구에서 개발한 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 자기 진단 프로그램에는 진단 내용에 과학교사의 평가에 관한 지식과 더불어 실무적인 능력과 실제로 행하고 있는 평가의 실천 내용이 포함될 수 있도록 노력하였다. 또한 교사 스스로 자신의 평가 전문성 수준을 가늠해 볼 수 있도록 전형적인 응답 유형과 채점 기준, 해설 및 평가 전문성 등급 평정 척도를 제시했고 진단 결과를 바탕으로 평가 전문성의 부족한 부분을 보완하고 신장시킬 수 있도록 간략한 전문성 신장을 위한 처방과 평가 지향에 따른 교사의 전형적인 유형을 제시하여 자기 진단 프로그램을 사용하는 교사가 전문성 개선 방향과 방법을 설정하는 데 도움을 주고자 했다. 본 연구는 과학교사 자신의 학생 평가 전문성에 대한 환심을 높이고, 이를 진단하고 신장시키는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 신장을 위한 방안을 마련하려는 데에도 좋은 시사점을 제공할 것으로 판단된다. 이를 위해 과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 진단 프로그램에 제시된 전문성 평정 기준을 좀 더 객관화하고 보완할 수 있도록 많은 교사들에게 이 프로그램을 사용해 보게 하고 그 결과를 분석하는 후속 연구가 필요하다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 진단 운항을 제작하는 데 있어 지구과학 내용을 소재로 사용하였으나 본 연구에 제시된 진단 문항 제작에 관한 해설을 참고하여 다른 과학교과 내용을 소재로 한 진단 문항 제작도 필요할 것으로 보인다.

A Research on Teachers' Professional Development of Mathematics (수학 교과 전문성 신장에 대한 소고)

  • The focus of the present study is on examining a research trend of teachers' professional development in mathematics. In do this, this study investigated the meaning and standards of professional development about mathematics, examining the characteristics of successful mathematics education professional programs, and looking for the processes of teachers' professionalization about mathematics. The findings of this study point out as follows: Teachers' professional development about mathematics implies the improvement of the quality of mathematics instruction following improving the quality of mathematics learning through well-structured mathematics teacher education programs. To do this, teachers need to have shared vision about how to teach mathematics, to have profound knowledge related to the mathematics subject, and to actively participate in teachers' professional development programs in mathematics. The results suggest the common characteristics of successful programs of mathematics teachers' professional development. The results of this study suggest that teachers need to have passion and efforts to improve teachers' professionalization about mathematics, and research on teacher professional development should be based on understanding about teachers. Also, more teacher-researchers to connect educational theories with educational practices are recommended, and a model for teachers' professional development program of mathematics appropriate to the context of Korea needs to be developed.

Exploring the Professional Development Program for Science High School Teachers using Partnership with Scientists (과학자와의 파트너십을 활용한 과학고 교사 전문성 신장 프로그램 탐색)

  • This research explored the direction of professional development programs for science high school science teachers through partnership with scientists. Eighteen science teachers and twenty three experts attended as partners during two weeks program. To find any finding and implication, survey and interview were conducted with participant, and participant observation was conducted to understand interaction between them. It was found that the professional development program through partnership with scientists would contribute to increasing expertise of science high school teachers. From findings, it was suggested to use professional development program where scientists participate for the professional development of science high school teachers.

  • To offer insights in organizing professional development programs to promote teachers' substantial ongoing learning, this paper provides an overview of situative perspectives in terms of cognition as situated, cognition as social, and cognition as distributed. Then, it describes research findings on how mathematics teachers can enhance their knowledge and thus improve their instructional practices through participation in a professional development program that mainly provides opportunities to learn and analyze students' mathematical thinking and to perform mathematical tasks through which they interpret the understanding of students' mathematical thinking. Further, it shows that a knowledge of students' mathematical thinking is a powerful tool for teacher learning. In addition, it suggests that teacher-researcher and teacher-teacher collaborative activities influence considerably teachers' understanding and practice as such collaborations help teachers understand new ideas of teaching and develop innovative instructional practices.

  • In the present reflective study, the research findings of professional development in mathematics education are reviewed and significant ideas that emerged are addressed in ter ms of (1) building on collaborative effort; (2) focusing on content knowledge; (3) centering on students' learning and bringing forth teacher knowledge; (4) perception-based and conception-based perspective; 5) situating in the context of teaching and sustained over ti me. Then it is followed by suggesting what components a desirable professional develop ment program needs to include and a possible direction toward which future research on professional development in mathematics education heads.

  • This study focused on what philosophy of education based on theory of Dewey has to be involved in teacher professional development program. In this view, an attempt was made to identify characteristics and ultimate goal of professional development program. Finally, this paper also discussed the design and the process of the professional development program based on the principles of reflective thinking and psychological observation by Dewey in order to connect theory with practice as a model which is for conducting professional development program for a group of mathematics teachers.

A study on How to Improve the Professionalism Enhancement Program for Teachers in Charge of Energy and Climate Change Education Based on STEAM Perspectives (융합인재교육의 관점에서 에너지 및 기후변화 교육 연수 프로그램 개선 방안)

  • This study was aimed to discuss how to improve the professionalism enhancement program for teachers in charge of energy and climate change education based on STEAM perspectives. It analyzed the program according to the specialties of the teachers in charge of training, and identified the degree of professionalism enhancement of the participating teachers through the pre- and post-survey. Also, researchers described the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of this program that were found through the interviews with trainees by participating in the program in person. The results were as follows; First, teacher's training course in charge of energy and climate change education should be approached from the perspective of STEAM education. Second, teachers should have time to discuss their activities after they complete experience learning related with STEAM education. Third, it should be a 60-hour intensive course, but the burden for the teachers should be reduced by using online programs. Fourth, the training program should be planned based on the focus on improving the professionalism. Also, there should be enough time to prepare for the training program. Fifth, energy and climate change teacher training program should be practice-oriented, using hands-on experiences and experiments, in fusion education. Sixth, it would be better to run energy and climate change teacher training programs according to the level of schools. However, several courses could be mixed between different levels of schools.

  • Smith(2001) calls for practice-based professional development for teachers of mathematics. This paper discusses laboratory class as a model for conducting professional development program for a group f elementary school mathematics teachers. The laboratory class seeks to promote teachers' generative growth (Carpenter & Levi, 1999) and all the core and structural features (Garet, Porter, Desimone, Birman & Kwang, 2001) of a professional development are also engaged in this program and the ultimate goal is for teachers to be reflective in their practices to be generative (Carpenter & Leher, 1999) in their teaching and learning. This paper also discusses the design of the laboratory class based on the principles of reflective thinking and psychological observation by Dewey to connect theory with practice.

지구과학교사의 학생 평가 전문성 자기진단 프로그램 개발

  • 본 연구에서는 교사의 전문성 영역의 한 부분인 학생 평가 전문성을 교사 스스로 진단해 보고 진단 결과에 대해 적절한 처방을 제공받을 수 있는 교사의 학생 평가 전문성 자기진단 프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 선행 연구와 문헌 조사를 통해 교사의 학생 평가 전문성을 구성하는 요인을 규명하고 이를 범주화하여 학생 평가 전문성 진단 도구를 구안하였다. 교사의 학생평가 전문성 구성 요인은 1990년에 미국의 AFT(American Federation of Teacher), NEA(National Education Association), NCME(National Council on Measurement in Education)가 공동으로 발표한 ‘학생 평가를 위한 교사의 평가전문성 기준(Standards for teacher competence in Educational Assessment of Student)’ 7가지를 연구자가 진단 도구 개발에 적합하도록 ${\circled1}$평가 방법의 선정, ${\circled2}$평가 도구의 개발, ${\circled3}$평가 실시?채점 및 성적 부여, ${\circled4}$평가 결과의 해석?분석?활용?의사소통의 4개 영역으로 재구성하였다. 진단도구를 개발하는데 있어서는 전문성 구성 요인별로 설문 형식의 질문에 답하고 이를 종합하여 점수를 매기는 방식보다는 구체적인 상황과 사례를 제시하고 이에 대해 평가를 해보게 하는 방식을 이용하여 평가 능력을 실질적으로 진단할 수 있게 하는데 초점을 맞추었다. 개발된 프로그램은 교사가 외부로부터 평가 받는데 소극적인 점을 감안하여 교사 스스로 자기를 진단할 수 있는 도구를 제공하고자 했으며, 진단 도구를 통해 밝혀진 결과에 대해 처방이나 안내를 함께 제공하여 교사가 자신의 평가 전문성을 제고하는데 보다 적극적으로 나설 수 있도록 도울 수 있는 프로그램으로 개발하려 하였다. 또한 이 프로그램을 교사가 활용하는 과정에 대한 조사 연구를 통해 궁극적으로는 교사의 학생 평가 전문성 신장을 위해 필요한 외부 지원이 무엇인지 추출하고 이러한 지원 체계와 교사가 능동적으로 이어질 수 있는 방안을 모색해 보고자 한다.

A Study on the Analysis of Variables Affecting Teacher Librarians' Practice Teaching in Korea (사서교사 교유실습의 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose an effective development of teacher librarians' practice teaching and to identify how much teacher librarians' practice teaching affects their expertise in Korea. For this, two research models are constructed. The first model is to analyze the relationship of variables between the effect of practice teaching and the following variables: pretraining, practice program, advisory teacher, training condition and organizational atmosphere. The second model is to analyze how much the practice teaching affects their role perception and expertise compared with training courses and field experiences. The result is as follow: It is the training program that greatly affects teacher librarians' practice teaching among those variables. And the practice teaching has a positive effect on the ability of role performance. According to the above result, the practice teaching is effective in developing teacher librarians' expertise. And more systematic practice teaching program, enough pretraining and the efforts of advisory teacher are necessary to enhance the effect of teacher librarians' practice teaching.
