A GPS measurement solution, in general, is obtained as a least squares solution since the measurement includes errors such as clock errors, ionospheric and tropospheric delays, multipath effect etc. Because of the nonlinearity of the measurement equation, we utilize the nonlinear Newton algorithm to obtain a least squares solution, or mostly, use its linearized algorithm which is more convenient and effective. In this study we developed a fixed point algorithm and proved its availability to replace the nonlinear Newton algorithm and the linearized algorithm. A nonlinear Newton algorithm and a linearized algorithm have the advantage of fast convergence, while their initial values have to be near the unknown solution. On the contrary, the fixed point algorithm provides more reliable but slower convergence even if the initial values are quite far from the solution. Therefore, two types of algorithms may be combined to achieve better performance.

In this paper, we focus on the developments of complex location awareness algorithms for real-time location based service and precise/stable localization in the outdoor. In the case of using galileo satellite system along with GPS, several error factor such as the ionosphere can be reduced for an increment of used frequency and visible satellites. Therefore, localization estimation error is no longer having problems with location awareness. But, chips synchronization error induces the error of acquisition and tracking, and the performance of receiver can be decreased. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a correlator for performance improvement of receiver in the precise localization.

For real-time precise GPS data processing such as a long baseline network RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) survey, PPP (Precise Point Positioning) and monitoring of ionospheric/tropospheric delays, it is necessary to guarantee accuracy comparable to IGS (International GNSS Service) precise orbit with no latency. As a preliminary study for determining near real-time satellite orbits, the general procedures of satellite orbit determination, especially the dynamic approach, were studied. In addition, the transformation between terrestrial and inertial reference frames was tested to integrate acceleration. The IAU 1976/1980 precession/nutation model showed a consistency of 0.05 mas with IAU 2000A model. Since the IAU 2000A model has a large number of nutation components, it took more time to compute the transformation matrix. The classical method with IAU 2000A model was two times faster than the NRO (non-rotating origin) approach, while there is no practical difference between two transformation matrices.

This study deals with the precise GPS data processing refer to ITRF2000 through the calculation of absolute coordinates of cadastral satellite station which were established by purpose of cadastral surveying. We used the Gipsy-Oasis II software developed Jet Propulsion Laboratory to estimate daily position of GPS stations with orbital and atmospheric parameters. Especially, we carried out ionospheric delay, tropospheric delay, data existence whether or not and quality control check of observation data during pre-processing. The standard deviation of absolute coordinates was determined better than ${\pm}4mm$ from GPS precise analysis. The RMSE of difference between the result of this study and existing result by using Bernese s/w shows ${\Delta}X={\pm}0.079m$, ${\Delta}Y={\pm}0.019m$ and ${\Delta}Z={\pm}0.031m$.

In this study, both the altitude error due to the refraction and the range error due to the delay in the ionosphere with respect to the frequency are extracted according to the radar elevation to analyze the effect of atmosphere on the space surveillance radar. To achieve this, the radio refractivity profile is modeled using the measured data from domestic weather stations. Then, the altitude-error due to the refraction is extracted using the ray tracing method, and the range error in the ionosphere is extracted according to the frequency. Further, considerations for radar design with respect to the radar error characteristics are discussed based on the abroad space surveillance radar and proposed domestic space surveillance radar. This analysis of the error characteristics is expected to be utilized for the determination of radar location, range of steering, and frequency in the space surveillance radar design.

The present paper deals with precise relative positioning of formation satellites with long baseline in low Earth orbit making use of L1/L2 dual frequency GPS carrier phase measurements. Kinematic approach means to describe the motion of objects without taking its mass/dynamics model into consideration. The advantage of the kinematic approach is that information about dynamics of the system is not applied, which gives more flexibility and could improve the scientific interest of the observations made by the mission. The ionosphere terms, which are not canceled by double differenced measurement equation in the case of the long baseline, are explicitly estimated as unknown parameters by extended Kalman filter. The estimated float ambiguities by EKF are solved by existing efficient integer vector search strategy under integer least square condition. For the integer vector search, we employ well known MLAMBDA. Finally, The feasibility and accuracy of processing scheme are demonstrated using the GPS measurements for two satellites in low Earth orbit separated by baselines of 100 km.

This paper describes a new program called GPS_QC needed to check the quality of GPS observations before post-processing so that the surveyors can be improved the precision of GPS data analysis. The GPS_QC was designed to calculate the quality control (QC) parameters such as data gaps, cycle slips, low elevation angle, inonspheric delay, multi-path effects and DOP etc, within the period of GPS observation. It can be used to read and calculate the QC parameters from RINEX files. This program gives users brief statistics, time series plots and graphs of QC parameters. The GPS_QC can simply be performed the quality checking of GPS data that was difficult for surveyors in the field. It is expected that we can be improved the precision of positioning and solved the time consuming problem of GPS observation.

This paper describes the progress and the plan of 'Wide Area Differential GPS (WA-DGPS) Development' project supported by Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The project develops the main algorithms of the WA-DGPS which guarantees the improved accuracy, availability, and integrity all over the Korean peninsula. After the establishment of WA-DGPS ground infrastructure system, a real-time demonstration using pseudolite installed on the ground will be conducted in the final year. Also, the development of Korean Satellite-based Augmentation System (SBAS) is expected to be started from 2014, and the algorithms and the results in the WA-DGPS project will be used in the SBAS development.
Recently, GNSS users can utilize various navigation satellite thanks to GPS modernization, renewal of GLONASS, and development of Galileo and Beidou. And availability performance of users is expected to be improved because these new navigation satellites transmit L5 signal as well as L1 signal, and users can directly estimate the ionospheric delays. In accordance with these changes existing Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) which considers only GPS L1 signal is being developed to support dual frequency and multi-constellation GNSS users. This paper describes the main features of dual-frequency, multi-constellation SBAS algorithms and estimates the performance in Korean region by simulation.
Wide area differential GNSS(WA-DGNSS) collects GPS measurements from the several reference stations and estimates 3-D satellite orbit error, satellite clock error, ionospheric delay. These correction messages are broadcasted to user, then user can have more accurate and reliable position estimates. The performance of WA-DGPS can be changed depending on the position of reference stations. To select proper reference stations, performance analysis with the change of reference stations is necessary. In this paper, changing the geographical location of reference stations, we carried out simulation based test and show the performance of WA-DGNSS in Korea.
