Development and Test of Inverter for Regenerative Power of DC Traction Power Supply System (직류급전시스템의 회생 전력 활용을 위한 인버터 시험설비 개발 및 성능시험)

  • DC transit system has been adopted in the metropolitan area, Korea since 1974. Electric multiple (EMU) in this system always reiterates that acceleration and retardation. When EMU decelerates using electric breaking, regenerative power occurs. Regenerative power can be consumed in vicinity EMU on the same line or in resistor. If DC transit system has inverter for reusing regenerative power, Energy efficiency in DC transit system and the replacement cycle of brake shoe in EMU will be increased and dust due to mechanical braking decreased. This paper present the developed inverter for regenerative power and its test equipment. Test for developed inverter is performed at test equipment and is divided into three items, which are regeneration mode, active filter mode, and system link test.

  • 국내의 원격검침 데이터는 주로 전력요금 산출용도에 활용되고 있다. 하지만 국외 전력회사들은 미래 디지털 사회의 기반이 되는 신 전력시스템을 구현하는데 필요한 핵심기술 중의 하나로서 IT(Information Technology)기반 전력부가서비스 기술의 중요성에 대해 강조하고 있으며, 이를 위해 원격검침 데이터를 기반으로 하는 다양한 전력부가서비스를 개발하여 적용하고 있다. 따라서, 국내의 경우도 원격검침 데이터를 단순한 전력요금 산출용도가 아닌 전력소비자와의 관계에서 부가가치를 높일 수 있는 무한한 잠재력을 지닌 전략적인 자산으로 보고, 원격검침 데이터 가공 및 활용기술의 선진화를 통하여 전력회사와 전력소비자 모두에게 필요한 전력부가서비스의 적용이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 국내외 전력부가서비스 시스템의 비교 분석을 통해 국내 전력산업 환경에 적합한 새로운 전력 부가서비스 적용방향을 제시하고, 이를 기초로 설계한 전력부가서비스의 일종인 전력 에너지 컨설팅 서비스 시스템에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 설계한 전력부가서비스 시스템의 적용시 전력소비자 측면에서는 요금절감 효과가 전력회사 측면에서는 부하 수요관리 및 투자비 절감 효과가 예상된다.

  • TETRA is the standard of Digital Trunked Radio System suggested by the ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institut ). It is adopted as Electric Power IT Wireless Backbone Network in Korea. Police station and Fire Station are using TETRA network. Currently, Power Automation Protocols are DNP3.0 in Distribution Automation System, DLMS in Auto Metering Infrastructure, IEC61850 in Substation Automation. These protocols are transmissions using CDMA or WCDMA modem. If Power Automation protocol uses TETRA networks, it can be interoperable with the systems in police or fire stations. And it has outstanding ability to handle problems in a disaster situation. So, This paper propose a gateway system of Power Automation which can transmit the power automation protocol using TETRA.

  • Recently, the intensity and frequency of typhoons have been increasing due to climate change, and typhoons can cause a loss of offsite power (LOOP) at nuclear power plants (NPPs). Therefore, it is necessary to prepare for typhoon-induced high winds through the probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) of offsite power systems. However, research on PSA for offsite power system in NPPs under typhoon-induced high winds is still lacking. In this study, PSA was performed for offsite power systems subjected to typhoon-induced high winds at the Kori NPP site, which has experienced frequent damages to its offsite power system among NPP sites in Korea. In order to perform PSA for typhoon-induced high winds in offsite power systems, the typhoon hazard at Kori NPP site was derived using logic tree and Monte Carlo simulation. Utilizing the fragility of components constituting the power system, performed a fragility analysis of the power system. Lastly, the probability that offsite power system will not be able to supply power to the NPP was derived.

Advanced High Frequency AC Propulsion System for Next Generation Electric Hybrid Vehicle

  • 본 논문은 PNGV 계획에 따른 차세대 전기자동차의 개발을 위하여 고주파 교류 전력분배 시스템을 적용하여 이용할 수 있는 추진력 장치의 구현 가능성에 대한 조사 연구이다. 실행 가능한 관점에서 전력 분배와 에너지원의 결합이 쉽게 이루어 질 수 있고 변환이 가능한 여러 가지 형태의 시스템이 비교 검토되었으며, 현재 기술 수준으로 보아 가까운 장래에 실현 가능한 최적의 시스템 구성은 배터리와 내연기관엔진 및 유도전동기를 이용하는 하이브리드형이 제시되었다. 각 시스템의 원활한 전력수급과 운전특성을 위하여 단상 고주파 교류 전력분배 제어기법을 적용하였으며, 이 시스템의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 시스템 구성에 따른 모델링과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 실시하였다. 이 결과 차세대 전기자동차용으로 제시된 고주파 교류 전력분배에 의한 하이브리드형 추진력 시스템이 가능하며 운전특성도 우수함을 보여주었다.

A Low Power Parking Management System for Intelligent Building (인텔리전트 빌딩을 위한 저 전력 주차관리 시스템)

  • The parking management system can increase driver's convenience with detailed parking information service in the parking lot. At the same time, parking management system consumes non-negligible electrical energy with large amount of sensors, displays and control modules. With the increase in the demand for green and sustainable building design all over the world, it becomes a meaningful issue for parking management system to reduce operating power. This paper presents the preliminary design and estimated results of a parking management system which is optimized to reduce the power consumption mainly on detectors and displays. The system design is based on pre-developed wireless parking detectors, Park Tile and Park Disk. The system has a number of parking space detectors, vehicle count detectors, information displays, guidance terminals and other control units. We have performed system architecture design, communication network design, parking information service scenario planning, battery life regulation and at last operating power estimation. The estimated operating power was 0.93KW per parking-slot, which is 20% of traditional systems. The estimated annual maintenance cost was 18% of traditional systems.

  • This paper describes on hardware simulation of passive power control of propulsion system for electric propulsion aircraft of KARI. The propulsion system uses hybrid power system that is composed of solar cell, fuel cell and battery. The fuel cell is replaces by simulator due to its difficulty in handling while the other components are the same as that will be used on board. As the result, reliable power supply for propulsion is confirmed and each power source is well operated showing its characteristics.

  • The AC railway system is quite differing from the general electric power system because it is single- phase and intermittently heavy loads. Thus, inevitably power quality problems are occurred in the AC railway system, i.e. voltage regulation voltage sags, voltage imbalance, and harmonic distortion. Recently, the power quality of the AC railway system becoming a hot issue because it is affect the control and safety of high-speed traction. In addition it is also affect the power quality of the electric power system. In this paper, single-phase Unified Power Quality Conditioner(UPQS) for the AC railway system is proposed to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion. The configurations and control schemes of the proposed single-phase UPQC are presented. The effectiveness of the proposed single-phase UPQC application is verified by the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation works. It can be shown that the application of UPQC in the AC railway system is very useful to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion from the results of related simulation works.

  • 기존의 지하 공동구 감시 시스템은 광케이블, 누설 동축케이블(LCX), 각종 제어케이블을 사용하여 통신 선로를 구축하기 때문에 시설비가 대단히 고가이며, 여러 가지 통신선로의 이용에 따른 유지보수가 어렵고 시공기간이 길어 시설 확대에 어려움이 있었다. 따라서 통신케이블의 설치 없이 기존에 설치된 공동구의 전등용 저압 전력선을 통신선로로 그대로 이용할 수 있는 전력선 통신 기술을 적용하여 유지보수가 용이한 저비용의 지하 공동구 감시제어시스템을 개발하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 공동구에서의 전력선 통신의 특성을 조사, 시험시스템 설계${\cdot}$제작, 현장실증시험을 통한 성능시험 및 분석을 수행하여 전력선 통신을 적용한 안정적인 공동구 감시제어 시스템을 제안하고자 한다.
