Robustness in the Distributed Election Strategies Based on the bidirectional preference of a Node (양방향 선호도에 기반을 둔 분산 리더 선거 전략의 견고성)

  • Most of traditional approaches to leader election have been based on a node ID number. As performances were not considered in these approaches, they were not very practical. So there has been a study on leader election strategies based on performances. This paper proposes new preference based on performances. While link failures occur during the election period, the elected leader's performance may not be the expected one. We simulate these effects of link failures on the robustness at election stragies. In particular, we tried in this study to find the best of the distributed election strategies based on the bidirectional preference from the standpoint of the robustness through simulation.

  • Currently, advanced countries are absorbed in vision research related to 'Technology Convergence', which is a 21 century Megatrend. They establish Technology Convergence strategy based on information and communication technology (ICT), and vision research that utilizes the scenario method is actively progressing. In this paper, scenario-based vision research case study using WWRF (Wireless World Research Forum), AmI (Ambient Intelligence), and mITF (mobile IT Forum) is conducted. The proposed 'engineering scenario method' is based on the case study results. Therefore, a future strategy study using the proposed scenario-based method is analyzed. The 'engineering scenario method' can provide a new direction in vision strategy research.

A Caching Strategy Considering Data Popularity in Pull-Based Data Broadcast Systems (풀 기반 데이타 방송 시스템에서의 데이타 인기도를 고려한 캐싱 전략)

  • A caching is a useful technique to alleviate performance degradation due to the inherent narrow bandwidth by reducing contention of broadcast requests. In this paper, we propose a caching strategy for pull-based data broadcast system which considers data popularity among clients. In addition, the proposed strategy also reflects recentness of data access based on data broadcast version. Then, we evaluate the performance of proposed strategy through a simulation approach. According to the results, the strategy considering both hit ratio and miss cost shows better performance than the traditional LRU. In addition, the strategy considering data popularity among clients shows better performance in some cases.

  • AI World Cup 환경은 다수 가상 에이전트들이 팀을 이뤄서 서로 상호작용하며 대전이 가능한 가상 축구 환경이다. 본 논문에서는 AI World Cup 환경에서 멀티 에이전트기반 학습/추론 기술을 사용하여 다양한 전략과 전술을 구사하는 가상 축구 에이전트 구현과 시뮬레이션 결과를 소개한다. 먼저, 역할을 바탕으로 협동하여 상대방과 대전할 수 있는 논리 기반 추론형 멀티 에이전트 기술이 적용된 Dynamic planning 축구 에이전트 9 세트를 구현하였다. 이후, 강화학습 에이전트 기반, 단일 에이전트를 조합한 Independent Q-Learning 방식의 학습형 축구 에이전트를 구현한 후, 이를 멀티 에이전트 강화학습으로 확장하여 역할 기반 전략 학습이 가능한 가상 축구 에이전트를 구현하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 구현된 가상 축구 에이전트들 간 대전을 통해 승률을 확인하고, 전략의 우수성을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 예제는 다음에서 확인할 수 있다 (https://github.com/I-hate-Soccer/Simulation).

  • This study aims to find implications for urban economic regeneration strategies of local initiative by analyzing of promoting regional strategic industries, both Seongnam and Goyang in terms of regional industrial policy, institution and specialized service agency. The main results based on the case studies are as follows. First, It is a top priority to formulate the policy direction, such as selecting strategic industries and prepare means for improving it. It should keep reliability and continuity for inducing economic units. Second, It is necessary to consider the effectiveness and diversity of institutions. The institutions to be formalized by municipal ordinance and rules for making the successful implementing system of policies. It is necessary to implement strategic industry policy linked with the central government or public organizations for expanding of a diversity of policies. It is necessary to change in viewpoint on the deregulation and tax break for the private sectors as inducements to achieve the regional economy activation. Third, It is necessary to introduce the specialized service agency to improve an effectiveness and efficiency of institutions and accelerate a network within economic units.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of cooperative control (T-cell modeling) and selection of group behavior strategy (B-cell modeling) based on immune system in distributed autonomous robotic system (DARS). Immune system is living body's self-protection and self-maintenance system. These features can be applied to decision making of optimal swarm behavior in dynamically changing environment. For applying immune system to DARS, a robot is regarded as a ?3-cell, each environmental condition as an antigen, a behavior strategy as an antibody and control parameter as a T-cell respectively. When the environmental condition (antigen) changes, a robot selects an appropriate behavior strategy (antibody). And its behavior strategy is stimulated and suppressed by other robot using communication (immune network). Finally much stimulated strateby is adopted as a swarm behavior strategy. This control scheme is based on clonal selection and immune network hypothesis, and it is used for decision making of optimal swarm strategy. Adaptation ability of robot is enhanced by adding T-cell model as a control parameter in dynamic environments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the structural relationship of the impact on the business performance when it pursues resource based production strategies, nurtures core competency, develops core product lines and innovate its business models as part of a strategy of value innovation and to validate how the nurturing core competency can have an impact on the execution of the value innovation strategies. This paper confirms that there is a structural relationship, which is logically and conceptually valid, among the core competence, value innovation strategies and business performance of manufacturing companies. In order to maximize the business performance which is the eventual objective of a company, it must strategically nurture its core competence, which will be a main driver of the future competitiveness and diversify its management based on the value innovation strategies.

  • Caching is a useful technique to improve the response time by reducing contention of requests in mobile computing environments with a narrow bandwidth. in the traditional cache-based systems, to improve the hit ratio has been usually one of main concerns for the time. However, in mobile computing environments, it is necessary to consider the cost of cache miss as well as the hit ratio. In this paper, we propose a new cache replacement strategy in pull-based data dissemination systems. Then, we evaluate performance of the proposed strategy by a simulation approach. The proposed strategy considers both the popularity and the wating time together, so the page with the smallest value of multiplying popularity by waiting time is selected as a victim.

  • In order to overcome the difficulties of programming education for beginners, various research strategies such as UMC(Use-Modify-Create), design based learning, discovery learning and play learning are applied. In this study, we developed a HVC(History-VR Coding-Collaboration) learning strategy model for the improvement of learner's computational thinking. The HVC model is composed of a combination module of block type. We developed a 12th session storytelling - based virtual reality programming curriculum. As a result, HVC model and SW education program showed significant difference in improvement of learner's computational thinking.

  • This study examines the characteristics of creative city policy for Japanese culture and arts creation cities and finds the implications of culture and arts city policy by reexamining the examples of Kanazawa and Yokohama from the viewpoint of creation-based strategy of the city. The policy implications of creative-based strategies are as follows. First, in terms of the governance of the creative-based strategy, Kanazawa conducted governance through a citizen-led cooperative network, while Yokohama promoted creative city policy through a local government-led cooperative network. Second, The mechanism of action of the endogenous resources of Kanazawa and Yokohama was different. Third, the territorial embeddedness in Kanazawa and Yokohama was easy for pedestrians to access to the customer center in the creation core area. Both cities have good access to domestic and international demand, and amenity is well established.
