In this study, wind characteristics of a shipping container were investigated through the wind tunnel test (high-frequency force balance test), and damage occurrence velocities of various containers with weights were evaluated based on results of the wind tunnel tests. As a result, mean wind force coefficients acting on containers in x-direction increased in the order of 12ft, 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high cube. On the other hand, mean wind force coefficients at y-direction increased in the order of 40ft high cube, 40ft, 20ft and 12ft. It was suggested that the shear layer separated from the corner of windward surface of the container is reattached on the sides of it, and then the mean wind force coefficient is weaker. As a result of the damage occurrence velocity on containers with weights, it was found that the probability of occurrence of sliding is higher rather than that of overturning. Further, the most unfavorable container was 40ft high cube, and the sliding and overturning occurrence velocities were 20.4 m/s and 26.8 m/s, respectively. Furthermore, the regression formula for sliding and overturing occurrence velocitys were proposed based on the results of relationship between weights of containers and damage occurrence velocities. These results are expected to be useful in establishing a guideline for external force estimation acting on container securing equipment and stacking way.

A ship runs with various modes of motion due to waves. Among the modes, roll mainly influences on the safety of cargos on the deck of container ship. In order to protect cargo shifting and turning, securing and lashing system are generally installed. In that case, it is necessary that the force and moment at the connection point of containers should be estimated. Therefore we derived mathematical equations to calculate the forces of securing points and lashing wires. Also we calculated those forces and moments about various lashing patterns.

This study is carried out to analyze the stability of a container crane in according to the change of a wind direction and a machinery house location when a wind load of a wind velocity, 75m/s was applied on the state stowing a container crane by a heavy wind. A design wind load applied to this study was calculated in observance of 'Load Criteria of Building Structure'. And we analyzed the reactions of each supporting points according to appling a wind direction to an interval of $10^{\circ}\;in\;0^{\circ}{\sim}180^{\circ}$ and the structure stability of a container crane according to changing a machinery house. location occupying 15% of a container crane weight. From a results of this study, we presented a design criteria of an overturning disturbance equipment, tie-down.

This study was carried out to the effect of wind load on the structural stability of an articulated type container crane according to the wind direction assuming that 75m/s wind velocity is applied on a container crane using FSI(fluid-structural interaction). To consider fluid phenomenon around the container crane, the wind load was derived by the computation fluid dynamic, and it applied to the FSI which can guarantee an accuracy and a reliability in the design stage for wind resistant structural stability to minimize the damage due to high wind load applied in a container crane with a 'ㄱ' type articulated boom which used in the total height restriction region. Following from this, the reaction force on the each support of a container crane was suggested. ANSYS ICEM CFD 10.0 and ANSYS CFX 10.0 used for computation fluid dynamic, and the ANSYS Workbench 11.0 was used for the fluid-structural interaction.
Anemometer is a meteorological instrument that measures wind direction and wind speed in real time, and is mounted to the cranes that are used at ports, shipbuilding yards, off-shore structure, or construction sites that are influenced by wind, and it is used in conjunction with the safety system. Load cell-type anemometer measures the wind direction through the ratio of load between 4 positions by mounting the thin plate to 4 load cells, and measures wind velocity through the summation of loads. According to previous research, the load ratio between two adjacent windswept with respect to the wind direction has unstable value due to vortex around windswept. This causes the result that increases an error on the wind direction. In this study we compared and analyzed the difference between the load ratio with respect to three type windswept shapes in order to suggest the proper windswept shape to reduce this error. The computational fluid flow analysis is carried out with ANSYS CFX to analyze the load ratio between three windswept shapes. Wind direction was adopted as the design variable, and selected 9 wind direction conditions from $0^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$ with $11.25^{\circ}$ interval for computational fluid flow analysis.

In this paper, dynamic response of a truss bridge due to constantly moving train loads is analysed. Dynamic response of the bridge is found by the mode superposition method with the solution of the eigenvalue problem by Householder transformation and QL algorithm. To prove the validity of the analysis procedure, the response due to a very slowly moving load is compared with the result from the static analysis program, and the dynamic response is also compared with the result from the direct integration method. Based upon this, the variation of dynamic amplification factors is investigated by changing the train types and speeds, and the result is compared with the code specified impact factor. From this study, it was known that the dynamic amplification factor is not quite different by train types in low speeds but in high speeds it is, and in the case of electric car and U. I. C. loads the factor could exceed the code specified impact factor depending upon the speed.
Rocking behavior of shallow foundation reduces the superstructure load during earthquake. However, because of deficiency of understanding of rocking mechanism and soil permanent deformation, it has not been applied to real construction. In this study, slow cyclic tests were conducted for embedded shallow foundations with various slenderness ratio via centrifuge tests. From the variation of earth pressure 'soil rounding surface' phenomenon which makes maximum overturning moment equal to ultimate moment capacity was observed. Rocking and sliding behavior mechanism was evaluated. Also, nonlinear behavior and energy dissipation increase as rotation angle increases. And ultimate moment capacity of embedded foundation is larger than that of surface foundation. Finally, adequate ultimate moment capacity can be suggested for seismic design through this study.

In the conventional outrigger system, the outriggers are located in the planes of the core walls and this system has disadvantage of obstructing flexibility in the interior layout. But thc facade riggers in the structure uc located In the exterior frames in the direction of the lateral loading. The interaction between the traced frames and facade riggers is through the floor diaphragms adjacent to the chords of the riggers. This paper presents an approximate analysis technique lot preliminary analysis of multiple facade rigger stiffened braced frames in tall buildings subjected to uniformly and triangularly distributed loads as well as a lateral point load at the top of the structure. Comparisons with the results by the program MIDAS for the structural models have shown that this analysis can give reasonably accurate results for highrise braced frames with multiple facade riggers. The method allows a simple procedure for obtaining the optimum level of the facade riggers in addition to a rapid assessment of the influence of the facade riggers on the performance of the highrise structure such as the reduction in lateral deflection at the top and the overturning moment at the base of the braced frame.

Nickel bumps for ACF(anisotropic conductive film) flip chip application were fabricated by electroless and electro plating and their mechanical properties and impact reliability were examined through the compressive test, bump shear test and drop test. Stress-displacement curves were obtained from the load-displacement data in the compressive test using nano-indenter. Electroplated nickel bumps showed much lower elastic stress limits (70MPa) and elastic moduli ($7.8{\times}10^{-4}MPa/nm$) than electroless plated nickel bumps ($600-800MPa,\;9.7{\times}10^{-3}MPa/nm$). In the bump shear test, the electroless plated nickel bumps were deformed little by the test blade and bounded off from the pad at a low shear load, whereas the electroplated nickel bumps allowed large amount of plastic deformation and higher shear load. Both electroless and electro plated nickel bumps bonded by ACF flip chip method showed high impact reliability in the drop impact test.

Many electric poles in the softground have been collapsed due to external load such as typhoon wind load. In this study, the location, numbers and depths of acnchor blocks as well as depth of poles were varied to find horizontal displacement of poles through pull-out tests. The 10 types of tests were performed, and lateral displacements showed differences depending on location, numbers and depth of poles. The bending is generated in the upper part at the initial load, but it moved to central part as load increased. The maximum horizontal displacement decreased to 1/1.6 at -0.5[m] depth of anchor block and 1.3[m] additional laying depth of poles into ground. Two anchor blocks of poles are better than one acnchor block system, but one anchor block system is recommended because difference of displacement is not too large, and constructibilty is bad due to increase of excavation for anchor blocks.
