A Study on the Evaluation of Lighting Performance in an Office Space (사무공간의 조명성능 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide visual evaluation data in a workstation space when different lighting types were applied. For the performance evaluation, Radiance program was used for simulations, and the mock-up room(15.0x11.6x3m) was used for the actual test. The results of this study were as follows; 1) When the inidirect lighting simulation data using Radiance was compared with the actual data in a small workstation space, there was a 6.5% difference. Therefore, Radiance program was proved to be useful for the evaluation of lighting performance. 2) Higher light levels (higher light ratio (%)) were recorded in the straddled layout and lower light levels (lower light ratio (%)) were recorded in the centered layout condition in most cases. 3) Also, the results show that the indirect luminaires and the straddled layouts provide higher uniformity, whereas the direct luminaires and the centered layouts have lower uniformity.

  • In order to improve complicated construction and complex control which are didvantage of optimal PWM technique aimed at harmonic elimination method, this paper presented MRA(Mode1 Reference Adaptive) PWM technique that gating signal of inverter is generated by comparing the reference signal with the induced feedback signal at the reference model of load. Design of controller is composed of microprocessor and analog circuit. MRA PWM technique used in the paper is able to compensate the degradation of voltage efficiency to be generated by the ratio of the output voltage to the DC supply voltage being low for using conventional sinusoidal PWM technique. When the trapezoidal signal is employed as the reference signal. the low order harmonics of line current can be reduced and the switching pattern is made by on-line computation using comparatively simple numerical analysis.

Electrochemical and Optical Studies on the Passivation of Nickel (니켈의 부동화에 관한 전기화학적 및 광학적 연구)

  • The technique of combined-measurement of reflectance and ellipsometric parameters was used for studying the anodic film formed on nickel surface in basic solutions. An ellipsometer was automated for transient measurements by way of modulating the plane-polarized light with the Faraday effect. Surface film was formed electrochemically by applying a potential step from the reduction potential range to the passivation range on a polished, high-purity, polycrystalline nickel specimen. From that instant, the changes in the reflectance(r) and the ellipsometric parameters(${\Delta},{\Psi}$) of the surface film were recorded by the automatic ellipsometer. Three exact simultaneous equations including these optical signals, ${\Delta},{\Psi}$ and r were solved numerically with a computer in order to determine the optical properties, n, k, and the thickness, ${\tau}$, of the surface film. From the computed results which showed dependence on pH and time, it was found that passivation of nickel can be effectively attained by surface film thinner than $15{\AA}$ and this passivation film has a small optical absorption coefficient. It seemed that a high pH environment enhances the rate of passivation and is favorable for a denser structure of the surface film. The experimental evidence is in accordance with the hypothesis that the composition of the passive film can be approximated by $Ni(OH)_2$ in the early stage of passivation and that as time passes the composition changes partially toward that of NiO through dehydration.

Electical and Electomagnetic wave Absorbing Properties of MnZn Ferrite-Rubber Composites in Microwave Frequencies (MnZn계 페라이트-고무 복합체의 마이크로파대역에서의 전기적 특성 및 전자파 흡수 특성)

  • Electrical and electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of MnZn ferrite-rubber composites have been examined for varying the volume fraction of ferrite powder from 0.1 to 0.4 in the frequency range between 1-10 GHz. As the volume fraction of MnZn ferrite increased, the complex permittivity and permeability of composite increased. The peak of reflection loss at the frequency corresponding to 1/4 wavelength shifts to lower frequency, and shifts to lower frequency as the thickness of absorber increased. We show that for the ferrite-rubber composites the volume fraction of ferrite should be controled to obtain the absorbing properties required in given frequency range.

전자빔 조사에 따른 IZO 박막의 물성 변화

  • Indium Zinc Oxide (IZO)는 가시광 영역(380~780 nm)에서 높은 투과율과 적외선영역에서 높은 반사율을 보이는 투명산화막으로서 Flexible display 적용으로 주목 받는 재료이다. 특히 비 화학적 양론비(non-stoichiometric)로 성장된 박막은 N형 반도체 특성을 갖기 때문에 광전자 소자, 액정표시소자와 태양전지의 투명전극 재료로 이용되고 있으며, 향 후에도 수요는 계속 증가될 전망이다. 일반적으로 IZO 박막은 높은 열처리 온도에 의한 기판재료의 선택이 한정적인 단점이 있다. 따라서 최근에는 정밀하게 제어된 에너지를 가진 전자를 표면에 조사(E-beam irradiation)하여 박막의 물성을 개선하고 기판재료의 선택성을 넓히는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다 [1]. 본 연구에서는 RF Magnetron Sputtering 법을 이용하여 Glass 위에 IZO를 증착하였다. 스퍼터링타겟은 고순도 IZO 타겟을 이용하여 100 nm의 두께를 가지는 박막을 증착하였다. 증착된 IZO 박막에 E-beam Source ((주)인포비온)를 이용하여 E-beam irradiation energy 조건에 변화를 주어 박막의 물성 변화를 관찰하였다. IZO 박막의 두께를 측정하기 위해 SEM (Cross section)을 이용하였다. E-beam irradiation energy에 따른 가시광 영역(380~780 nm)에서의 광투 과도는 UV-Vis spectrometer를 사용하여 측정하였고, 전기적인 특성은 Hall measurement system 을 이용하여 측정하였다. 또한 박막의 결정성과 거칠기의 변화는 XRD (X-ray Diffraction)와 원자 간력현미경(Atomic Force Microscope; AFM)을 이용하여 측정하였다. Rf magnetron Sputtering 법을 이용하여 증착한 IZO 박막에 Post E-beam irradiation이 전기전도 및 광 투과특성과 결정성과 표면 조도를 향상시키는데 크게 기여함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 Thermal evaporator(저항 가열 식 진공 증착법) 장비를 활용하여 ZnS/$Na_3AlF_6$/ZnS/Cu-$0.25\lambda$, ZnS/$CaF_2$/ZnS/Cu-$0.25\lambda$의 다층 박막을 glass 기판위에 증착하였다. 증착 전에 EMP(Essential Macleod Program)을 활용하여 광학적 특성을 simulation하였으며 다층 박막 제작 후 Spectrophotometer를 사용하여 반사율 및 색상을 CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ 좌표에 표시하여 고 굴절 물질에 따른 광학적 특성을 EMP simulation과 비교하였다. AES depth profile을 분석하여 막의 두께 및 층간 확산여부에 관하여 관측 하였다. 저굴절 물질을 Na3AlF6로 사용하였을 경우 simulation과 결과 값 모en purple 계통의 색상을 나타냈으며 CaF2를 사용하였을 경우 simulation은 purple 계통의 색상, 결과값은 red-yellow 계통의 색상으로 나타났다.

  • 건식 전자 종이는 평행한 병렬 전극 사이에 하전 입자들이 놓인 구조로 전극간의 입자 천이 특성은 전자 종이의 동작에 직접적인 영향을 주게된다. 따라서, 하전 입자를 이용하여 제작된 전자 종이 샘플에 인가 전압에 따른 입자의 전극간의 천이를 통해서 전자 종이의 동작 특성을 살펴 보고자 한다. 입자의 천이 특성을 제작된 샘플의 조명에 의한 반사율 분석을 통해서 살펴 보았다. 입자의 천이 특성은 히스테리시스 특성을 나타냈으며 이러한 특성은 색상의 변화시켜야만 할때에만 전력 소비가 이루어지기 때문에 소비 전력이 작으며, 저비용의 수동 매트릭스 구동을 가능하게 함을 실험을 통해서 확인하였다. 6개 샘플의 특성 분석을 통해서 회색톤의 그림 또는 하이 콘트라스트의 글씨를 구현하기 위한 특성을 고찰하였다.

Characterization of reflectance of metal mesh electrodes according to CNT-coating (탄소 나노튜브의 코팅에 따른 금속 메쉬 전극의 반사율 분석)

  • This study demonstrates hybrid-type transparent electrodes for touch screen panels. The hybrid-type electrodes were fabricated by coating carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on metal meshes. For the formation of metal meshes, thin films of silver (Ag) were deposited on glass substrates using a sputtering method and then pattenrned via photolithography to obtain mesh structures of which line width was $10{\mu}m$ and line-to-line spacing was $300{\mu}m$. CNTs were coated on Ag meshes by using electrophoretic deposition (EPD). For the samples of Ag meshes with/without CNTs, their surface morphologies, visible-range transmittances, and reflectances were characterized and compared. The experimental results indicated that the reflectance of Ag mesh electrodes was substantially reduced by coating of CNTs. Especially, the hybrid electrodes of Ag meshes with EPD-coated CNTs showed excellent properties such as transmittance higher than 90%, reflectance lower than 8%.

  • We improved an efficiency of fiber-optic current transformer by using a metal-coated sensor coil. To reduce the linear birefringence, we used a length of spun fiber as sensor coil, and then used a flint glass fiber coil for comparison. To make the sensor coil in the reflection type, we used different reflection mirrors at the end of the sensor coil, such as a Faraday rotator mirror, a simple mirror, a metal-coated fiber end and a simple fiber end. From the experimental results, the linear error of current measurements were less than ${\sim}$ 0.2 % regardless of the mirror types. The metal-coated sensor was the most cost-effective considering the fabrication cost and the simple structure.

  • Zonal cavity method, which is a kind of the lumen method, is used the calculation of the average illuminance on the workplane in an interior. Important factors of the method are cavity ratio, coefficient of utilization, and light loss factor. A Coefficient of Utilization varies with a kind of luminaires and is affected by surface reflectance of space. For this, the data from Coefficient of Utilization computation were analyzed with the same lumens and different photometry. This paper analyzes the changes of Coefficients of Utilization on the photometry of luminaires and surface reflectance of space.
