Limit equilibrium analysis and finite difference analysis were used to evaluate slope stability in the in Gohan, Korea, which is affected by large-scale tensile cracks and uplift. There is a thick colluvial layer in the study area and predicting ground behavior is problematic because the presence of clay makes it difficult to determine the strength parameters of the soil. Consequently, a numerical model able to reflect the collapse properties of the site was required that applied the modified boundary layer model and calculated the strength parameters using back analysis. The numerical simulation results that consider the strength parameter one does with the present situation the establishment of the pile is completed, and the simulation is able to asses ground stability in complex terrain in a reliable manner. Also the somewhat it judges with the fact that it will be able to provide the fundamental data which secures the stability of the segment where it is unstable.

Layered manufacturing(LM) is emerging as a new technology that enables the fabrication of three dimensional heterogeneous objects such as Multi-materials and Functionally Gradient Materials (FGMs). Among various types of heterogeneous objects, more attention has recently paid on the fabrication of FGMs because of their potentials in engineering applications. The necessary steps for LM fabrication of FGMs include representation and process planning of material information inside an FGM. This paper introduces a new process planning algorithm that takes into account the processing of material information. The detailed tasks are discretization (i.e., decomposition-based approximation of volume fraction), orientation (build direction selection), and adaptive slicing of heterogeneous objects. In particular, this paper focuses on the discretization process that converts all of the material information inside an FGM into material features like geometric features. It is thus possible to choose an optimal build direction among various pre-selected ones by approximately estimating build time. This is because total build time depends on the complexity of features. This discretization process also allows adaptive slicing of heterogeneous objects to minimize surface finish and material composition error. In addition, tool path planning can be simplified into fill pattern generation. Specific examples are shown to illustrate the overall procedure.

This research focuses on 10 modern museums built in Europe near important cultural assets of UNESCO World Heritage level. This study aims to reveal the coexistence of European laminated history and contemporary architecture by considering various aspects of respecting the existing and maintaining their identity as modern buildings, using these cultural assets as a basic concept of planning while minimizing conflicts with the past. The four measures of respecting existing cultural heritage are arranged by showing respect by lowering oneself, sympathizing with others, preparing for harmony with modernity, and communicating by looking at. The measures that reveal the identity of modern buildings are confirmed by classifying them as modern and post-modern approaches, each with several options. Through this study, we have been able to extract useful lessons for us, as well, while the past and present coexist successfully, by taking history as a reliable guide to take a fresh leap from it, rather than as a solidified remnant of inertness.

Employing statistical design of experiments, the difference in doping behaviors of rare-earth ions and their effects on the dielectric property and microstructure of $BaTiO_3$-MgO-$MnO_2$-($Ba_{0.4}Ca_{0.6}$) $SiO_3-Re_2O_3$ (Re = $Y_2O_3$, $Er_2O_3$) system were investigated. Through the statistical analysis we have found that the amount of $Re_2O_3$ are significantly affecting on the dielectric properties. The $Re_2O_3$ improved the dielectric constant, dielectric loss and R*C constant, so the appropriate contents of $Y_2O_3$ and $Er_2O_3$ were 0.8 ~ 1.2 mol% and 0.8 ~ 1.3 mol%, respectively. The MLCC(mutilayer chip capacitor) with $2.0{\times}1.2{\times}1.2mm$ size and 475 nF was also suited for X7R with the above composition. It showed that the dielectric constant and RC constant were 2,839 and 3,675 ${\Omega}F$, respectively in the sintering condition at $1250^{\circ}C$ in $Po_2$$10^{-7}$ Mpa.

The demand for smaller, faster, and multi-functional mobile devices in increasing at a rapidly increasing rate. In response to these trends, Stacked Chip Scale Package (SCSP) is used widely in the assembly industry. A film type adhesive called die attach film (DAF) is used widely for bonding chips in SCSP. The DAF requires high flowability at high die attachment temperatures for bonding chips on organic substrates, where the DAF needs to feel the gap depth, or for bonding the same sized dies, where the DAF needs to penetrate bonding wires. In this study, the mixture design of experiment (DOE) was performed for three raw materials to obtain the optimized DAF recipe for low elastic modulus at high temperature. Three components are acrylic polymer (SG-P3) and two solid epoxy resins (YD011 and YDCN500-1P) with different softening points. According to the DOE results, the elastic modulus at high temperature was influenced greatly by SG-P3. The elastic modulus at $100^{\circ}C$ decreased from 1.0 MPa to 0.2 MPa as the amount of SG-P3 was decreased by 20%. In contrast, the elastic modulus at room temperature was dominated by YD011, an epoxy with a higher softening point. The optimized DAF recipe showed approximately 98.4% pickup performance when a UV dicing tape was used. A DAF crack that occurred in curing was effectively suppressed through optimization of the cure accelerator amount and two-step cure schedule. The imizadole type accelerator showed better performance than the amine type accelerator.

The increased vibration level of the railway bridge could make significant noise and, also, cause structural damages such as fatigue cracks. Related to these subjects, a spherical elastomeric bridge bearing, which is layered by hemispherical rubber and steel plates, was investigated in terms of its vibration performance. Several different shape factors could be considered by changing the curvature of hemispherical surface and size in rubber and steel plate thicknesses in the manufacturing stage. The performance of the spherical elastomeric bearing for the reduction in vibration was compared with that of the conventional bearing by performing vibration experiments on a scale-downed model. The rubber material characteristics and spherical shape are found to be important parameters in reducing the bridge vibration.
The use of 3-dimensional (3D) printing is becoming more common, and its use is increasing in the orthopedic surgery. Currently, there are four major methods of using 3D printing technology in orthopedic surgery. First, surgical planning simulation using 3D printing model; second, patient-specific surgical instruments; third, production of customized prosthesis using 3D printing technique; fourth, patient-specific prosthesis produced by 3D printing. The areas of orthopedic surgery where 3D printing technology can be used are shoulder joint, spine, hip and pelvis, knee joints, ankle joint, and tumors. Since the diseases and characteristics handled by each area are different, the method of using 3D printing technology is also slightly different in each area. However, using 3D printing technology in all areas can increase the efficiency of surgery, shorten the surgery time, and reduce radiation exposure intraoperatively. 3D printing technology can be of great help in treating patients with particularly complex and difficult orthopedic diseases or fractures. Therefore, the orthopedic surgeon should make the most of the benefits of the 3D printing technology so that patient can be treated effectively.
In stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), the accurate location of treatment sites should be guaranteed from the respiratory motions of patients. Lots of studies on this topic have been conducted. In this letter, a new verification method simulating the real respiratory motion of heterogenous treatment regions was proposed to investigate the accuracy of lung SBRT for Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy. Based on the CT images of lung cancer patients, lung phantoms were fabricated to equip in $QUASAR^{TM}$ respiratory moving phantom using 3D printer. The phantom was bisected in order to measure 2D dose distributions by the insertion of EBT3 film. To ensure the dose calculation accuracy in heterogeneous condition, The homogeneous plastic phantom were also utilized. Two dose algorithms; Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB) were applied in plan dose calculation processes. In order to evaluate the accuracy of treatments under respiratory motion, we analyzed the gamma index between the plan dose and film dose measured under various moving conditions; static and moving target with or without gating. The CT number of GTV region was 78 HU for real patient and 92 HU for the homemade lung phantom. The gamma pass rates with 3%/3 mm criteria between the plan dose calculated by AAA algorithm and the film doses measured in heterogeneous lung phantom under gated and no gated beam delivery with respiratory motion were 88% and 78%. In static case, 95% of gamma pass rate was presented. In the all cases of homogeneous phantom, the gamma pass rates were more than 99%. Applied AcurosXB algorithm, for heterogeneous phantom, more than 98% and for homogeneous phantom, more than 99% of gamma pass rates were achieved. Since the respiratory amplitude was relatively small and the breath pattern had the longer exhale phase than inhale, the gamma pass rates in 3%/3 mm criteria didn't make any significant difference for various motion conditions. In this study, the new phantom model of 4D dose distribution verification using patient-specific lung phantoms moving in real breathing patterns was successfully implemented. It was also evaluated that the model provides the capability to verify dose distributions delivered in the more realistic condition and also the accuracy of dose calculation.

Purpose: We have performed SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery) for avm (arterry vein malformation) and brain cancer. In order to verify dose and localization of SRS, dose distributions from TPS ($X-Knife^{(R)}$ 3.0, Radionics, USA) and GafChromic $EBT^{(R)}$ film in a head phantom were compared. Materials and Methods: In this study, head and neck region of conventional humanoid phantom was modified by substituting one of 2.5 cm slap with five 0.5 cm acrylic plates to stack the GafChromic $EBT^{(R)}$ film slice by slice with 5 mm intervals. Four films and five acrylic plates were cut along the contour of head phantom in axial plane. The head phantom was fixed with SRS head ring and adapted SRS localizer as same as real SRS procedure. CT images of the head phantom were acquired in 5 mm slice intervals as film interval. Five arc 6 MV photon beams using the SRS cone with 2 cm diameter were delivered 300 cGy to the target in the phantom. Ten small pieces of the film were exposed to 0, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 cGy, respectively to calibrate the GafChromic $EBT^{(R)}$ film. The films in the phantom were digitized after 24 hours and its linearity was calibrated. The pixel values of the film were converted to the dose and compared with the dose distribution from the TPS calculation. Results: Calibration curve for the GafChromic $EBT^{(R)}$ film was linear up to 900 cGy. The R2 value was better than 0.992. Discrepancy between calculated from $X-Knife^{(R)}$ 3.0 and measured dose distributions with the film was less than 5% through all slices. Conclusion: It was possible to evaluate every slice of humanoid phantom by stacking the GafChromic EBT film which is suitable for 2 dimensional dosimetry, It was found that film dosimetry using the GafChromic $EBT^{(R)}$ film is feasible for routine dosimetric QA of stereotactic radiosurgery.
