Background Noise Reduction Algorithm Based on Frequency Domain Adaptive Filter and MMSE-LSA in Dual-microphone situation (Dual-microphone 환경에서 주파수 영역 적응 필터와 MMSE-LSA기반 배경 잡음 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, background noise reduction method using dual microphone is proposed in mobile environment. Each Signal, reference and primary, would be replaced by microphone input signals, which were measured by reference and primary microphones, and then, noise reduction was performed using FDAF. After then, residual and background noise would be estimated and reduced by MMSE-LSA. For consistent noise reduction performance, result of VAD that could be caculated by PLD between two microphones was used.

Validation of RESPECT-Music With a Korean Sample (한국판 음악 기능 척도의 타당화와 정서적 적응과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of RESPECT-Music, which measures personal, social and cultural function of music, and to examine the correlation between the measured RESPECT data and the data measured from other scales for emotions. A survey was conducted with two separate groups of undergraduate students. Exploratory factor analysis with sample A (N=212) and confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analyses with sample B (N=296) were conducted. The result of exploratory factor analysis generated 10 factors as influential factors in music use, which was the similar results to the original scale: background, values, focus, dancing, family bonding, cultural identity, political attitudes, venting, emotional expression and social bonding. In the confirmatory factor analysis, this 35-item measurement was found to obtain adequate internal consistency and reliability. In addition, the correlations were found with other scales measuring emotional adjustment. Specifically, RESPECT showed a positive correlation with scales for positive affect, reappraisal, negative mood regulation and repair. Among the generated factors as music function, dancing was highly correlated with emotional adjustment, while political attitudes was negatively correlated with emotional adjustment. The results indicate that music use in our everyday lives is intercorrelated with the intrapersonal and interpersonal motives and emotional adjustment, while the function of music that influences cultural identity was not associated with the level of emotional adjustment. Implications for future studies were also suggested.

Motion Detection using Adaptive Background Image and A Net Model Pixel Space of Boundary Detection (적응적 배경영상과 그물형 픽셀 간격의 윤곽점 검출을 이용한 객체의 움직임 검출)

  • It is difficult to detect the accurate detection which leads the camera it moves follows in change of the noise or illumination and Also, it could be recognized with backgound if the object doesn't move during hours. In this paper, the proposed method is updating changed background image as much as N*M pixel mask as time goes on after get a difference between imput image and first background image. And checking image pixel can efficiently detect moving by computing fixed distance pixel instead of operate all pixel. Also, set up minimum area of object to use boundary point of object abstracted through checking image pixel and motion detect of object. Therefore motion detection is available as is fast and correct without doing checking image pixel every Dame. From experiment, the designed and implemented system showed high precision ratio in performance assessment more than 90 percents.

An Exploratory Study on Acculturation of School-aged Immigrant Adolescents and Policy Support in Busan (부산지역 학령기 중도입국청소년의 문화적응과 지원방안 탐색)

  • Current support policies for multicultural families translate the focus on educating multicultural children from the initial adjustment of foreign-born brides. By contrast with Korean-born biracial/biethnic children of international couples, foreign-born immigrant children suffer linguistic and cultural differences. This study explores the acculturational difficulties and needs of school-aged immigrant adolescents in Busan Metropolitan city and suggests policies to meet their needs. Seventeen participants, including immigrant adolescents, immigrant parents, in-school service providers and out-school service providers, were recruited, and focus-group interviews were conducted. The major themes show that school-aged immigrant adolescents suffer from cultural/racial differences, different naming practices, linguistic differences, and age gaps. In addition, the study participants strongly call for KSL education, academic mentoring programs, career education, and education for multicultural understanding. This study suggests that future policies should be designed to support immigrant adolescents based on a diversity model beyond assimilationist approaches of adeficitmodel.

Detection of ROIs using the Bottom-Up Saliency Model for Selective Visual Attention (관심영역 검출을 위한 상향식 현저함 모델 기반의 선택적 주의 집중 연구)

  • 본 논문은 상향식 현저함 모델을 이용하여 입력 영상으로부터 시각적 주의를 갖는 영역들을 자동으로 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 인간의 시각 시스템과 같이 사전 지식 없이 시각정보의 공간적인 분포에 근거하여 장면을 해석하는 상향식 현저함 모델 방법을 입력 영상에 적용하여 관심 물체 영역을 검출하는 연구이다. 상향식 현저함 방법은 Treisman의 세부특징이론 연구에서 제시한 바와 같이 시각적 주의를 갖는 영역은 시각정보의 현격한 대비차이를 가지는 영역으로 집중되어 배경에서 관심영역을 구분할 수 있다. 입력 영상에서 현저함 모델을 통해 3차원 현저함 맵을 생성한다. 그리고 생성된 현저함 맵으로부터 실제 관심영역들을 검출하기 위해 제안한 방법에서는 적응적 임계치 방법을 적용하여 관심영역을 검출한다. 제안한 방법을 관심영역 분할에 적용한 결과, 영역 분할 정확도 및 정밀도가 약 88%와 89%로 제시되어 관심 영상분할 시스템에 적용이 가능함을 알 수 있다.

Adaptive Background Subtraction Based on Genetic Evolution of the Global Threshold Vector (전역 임계치 벡터의 유전적 진화에 기반한 적응형 배경차분화)

  • There has been a lot of interest in an effective method for background subtraction in an effort to separate foreground objects from a predefined background image. Promising results on background subtraction using statistical methods have recently been reported are robust enough to operate in dynamic environments, but generally require very large computational resources and still have difficulty in obtaining clear segmentation of objects. We use a simple running-average method to model a gradually changing background, instead of using a complicated statistical technique. We employ a single global threshold vector, optimized by a genetic algorithm, instead of pixel-by-pixel thresholds. A new fitness function is defined and trained to evaluate segmentation result. The system has been implemented on a PC with a webcam, and experimental results on real images show that the new method outperforms an existing method based on a mixture of Gaussian.

Noise Suppression Algorithm using Neural Network based Amplitude and Phase Spectrum (진폭 및 위상스펙트럼이 도입된 신경회로망에 의한 잡음억제 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes an adaptive noise suppression system based on human auditory model to enhance speech signal that is degraded by various background noises. The proposed system detects voiced, unvoiced and silence sections for each frame and implements an adaptive auditory process, then reduces the noise speech signal using a neural network including amplitude component and phase component. Based on measuring signal-to-noise ratios, experiments confirm that the proposed system is effective for speech signal that is degraded by various noises.

Enhancement of QRS Complex using a Neural Network based ALE (신경망 ALE를 사용한 QRS complex의 증대)

  • 본 논문에서는 배경잡음이 섞여 있는 QRS 파의 증대를 위해 신경망에 근거한 적응라인증대기(ALE) 적용을 다루고 있다. Elman과 Jordan RNN 구조의 합성형태를 갖는 수정된 완전연결 리커런트 신경망이 ALE의 비션형 적응필터로 사용되고 있다. 신경망 노드사이의 연결계수와 이득, 기울기, 지연과 같은 노드 활성함수의 변수들이 기울기 강하 알고리즘을 사용하여 학습이 반복될 때마다 갱신된다. 수정된 신경망은 먼저 미지의 선형과 비선형 시스템 identification을 수행함으로써 평가하였다. 그리고 미약한 QRS를 증대시키기 위해서 적당한 크기의 잡음과 매우 심한 잡음이 포함된 실제의 ECG 신호를 비선형 신경망 적응필처를 사용하는 ALE에 입력하였다. 수정된 신경망은 시스템 identification에 사용하기가 적합함을 확인하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과에 의하면 신경망 ALE는 잡음 ECG 신호로부터 QRS 파를 증대를 잘 수행하였다.

A Single Channel Adaptive Noise Cancellation for Speech Signals (음성신호의 단일입력 적응잡음제거)

  • A single channel adaptive noise canceling (ANC) technique is presented for removing effects of additive noise on the speech signal. The conventional method obtains a reference signal using the pitch estimated on a frame basis from the input speech. The proposed method, however, gets the reference signal using the delay estimated recursively on a sample by sample basis. To estimate the delay, we derive recursion formula of autocorrelation function and average magnitude difference function. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated for the speech signals distorted by the additive white Gaussian noise. Experimental results with normalized least mean square (NLMS) adaptive algorithm demonstrate that the proposed method improves the perceived speech quality quite well besides the signal-to-noise ratio.

  • Among the various services for mobile banking, user authentication method using bank security card is still very useful. We can use mobile banking easily and safely in case of saving encoded security codes in smart phone and entering codes automatically whenever user authentication is required without bank security card. In this paper automatic recognition algorithm of security codes of bank security card is proposed in oder to enroll the encoded security codes into smart phone using smart phone camera. Advanced adaptive binarization is used for extracting digit segments from various background image pattern and adaptive 2-dimensional layout analysis method is developed for segmentation and recognition of damaged or touched digits. Experimental results of proposed algorithm using Android and iPhone, show excellent security code recognition results.
