Development of Augmented Reality Tool for Architectural Design (건축설계 검증을 위한 증강현실 설계지원도구 개발)

  • In this study we have proposed the prototype of design support device for architectural design assessment using the building information modeling(BIM) data and the augmented reality(AR) technology. The proposed system consists of novel hardware composition with the transparent display, the mock-up model and the digital architectural model in the new shape of frame. The removal of background and the correction of viewer point in the capture video are proposed in order to use the transparent display in AR application. The BIM data formats are reviewed to be converted for using in AR application. Also the proposed system can be expanded to multi-user collaboration system from two user system through the suggested hardware and software compositions. The results of this study will be applied to use the mock-up model and digital architectural model in order to carry out the design assessment process efficiently and economically in the architectural design field.

Meaning of 'Writing of Picture' in the Digital Era (디지털 시대 '사진쓰기'의 의미)

  • In 2011, in the Olympus advertisement appeared a copy of 'Writing of Picture'. Usually, the verb of 'Shoot' is commonly attached behind the picture, but a new sentence was made connecting 'writing' into the picture in the advertisement. With entrance of the digital era, the digital devices became popular, and the behaviors people post messages and pictures together on the internet site also became popular. Whether we first take a picture and then make a writing later, or whether we first make a writing and then take a picture later, the meaning of 'writing' and 'shooting' is actually alike in the digital era. People now use various images and writings, at the same time, of the pictures in expressing their own selves positively. This soon means not only that the pictures are helpful for writings, but also that the delivery of the meaning is not carried out only by characters. To the digital natives who have grown within many images, this atmosphere is a natural thing. In the field of Korean language education, the study of making use of the pictures and media for writings is in progress.

A Study of Social Media User Response about Firms' Crisis Response Strategies (기업의 위기대응전략에 대한 소셜 미디어 이용자의 반응 연구)

  • The importance of online communication is getting increased by the rapid growth of smartphone supply and Social Network Service (SNS) use. Catching up with the trend, firms are actively use SNS to improve brand image, promote products, and communicate with customer. On the one hand, SNS is the channel for firms' marketing activities, but on the other, it is also the channel where the events related to the firms propagate in real time. Firms are led to unexpected state of crisis, when events are quickly spread out on SNS. Then firms are assessed their image by the way they deal with the state of crisis. This paper proposes to figure out user response on SNS according to each crisis response strategies by analyzing event-related twitter data when crisis situations of firms arise. We classify crisis response strategies into response attitude, defensive and accommodative response, and response speed, fast and slow response. This paper suggests optimal crisis response strategy to firms regarding state of crisis propagated on SNS.

  • This study focused on the transition from modularity of a mechanical construction system to the seriality in a digital production system in architecture and arguing how digital design process affects the design of surface in the contemporary architecture and development of digital technology actively intermediate surface of architecture and expressive characteristics of media on surface. The analysis of two exhibition facilities of Herzog & de Meuron expose process of fabrication in the surface design and makes possible to implementation of the concept of code to seriality which shows images employed to reveal immediate representation of the perceptual communication with humans and architecture through the role and significance of digital design techniques.

  • 인간은 누구나 고령자가 된다. 특히 과거와 달리 고령자로의 생활기간이 더욱 연장되는 것이 현실이다. 건강한 젊은 시절과 달리 신체 및 지각 능력이 퇴화된 고령자들의 생활은 불편함이 클 수 밖에 없다. 더불어 다양한 고령자 프로그램이나 사회적 배려에 대한 관심과 시장 또한 급속도로 증대되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 고령자의 식품 섭취 편익을 위한 합리적 포장구조, 형태디자인을 탐구하는데 있었다. 연구방법은 간단편의 식품 포장구조, 형태를 국내외 사례를 실증적으로 조사, 분석, 효율적 방향을 제안하였다. 연구결과 건강한 노인생활을 위한 필수 요건의 식품 포장분야는 국내외 모두 미약한 실정이었다. 아직 고령자를 위한 식품개발을 별도 진행하는 기업이 적었고 포장물 또한 별도의 기능성을 제공하지는 않았다. 다만 일부 글로벌 기업의 상품들에서는 취급과 개봉, 사용하기 편리한 식품포장구조, 형태가 판매되고 있었다. 구체적으로 고령자들이 쉽게 개봉할 수 있는 뚜껑의 크기 및 요철의 확대, 금속재질의 오프너의 형태와 구조 디자인의 개선 등은 큰 효과가 있었다. 간단한 구조, 형태를 통해 소비자들의 포장욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 우수한 마케팅요인으로 작용될 수 있음을 예상할 수 있는 디자인들이다. 큰 투자와 시설 보완을 최소화시키고 편익성을 충분히 제공하는 식품 포장구조디자인은 결과적으로 고령자시장을 확대하며 독자적 브랜드 이미지구축에 큰 영향을 주게 될 것으로 전망되기에 적극적 연구가 절실하다. 고령자들이 좋은 식품을 쉽고 편리하게 섭취할 수 있는 식품패키지 구조디자인을 통해 시장 확대와 경쟁력 있는 국제적 브랜드가 되길 기대한다. 이번 논문은 한국브랜드디자인학회 제23호 논문집에서 발췌하였다.

Product Form Alignment Method Based on the Analysis of Formative Parameter Disposition (조형변수 성향 분석에 의한 정합적 제품 형태 전개 방법)

  • Corporate design activities have expanded from being exclusive and passive responsibilities to active participation in planning, marketing, technology and corporate brand image differentiation for successful business. Thus the communications between designers and other functions come to include critical decision making, information sharing, and objective reasoning. Given that design activities now have to involve various functions in product development, the styling-related design process, which is still developed by designer's intuition and experience, poses as an obstacle not just between various functions involved, but even within the design function. To overcome this obstacle and to lead more effective design decision process, a means for product form development assessment and management is necessary. This research proposes a foundation for managing and assessing product form based on the hypothesis and demonstration of discovering a system of formative factor and order a product form expresses that can be shared as an objective and logical system. As a result of this demonstration, the form as a unique visual expression and the factors related to the form and its co-relationship are examined. The factors are called formative parameters and the system is named as the product form alignment method. Based on the logic derived from the system, the process for developing an image that aligns with the predefined goal is explained. The method defines a balance between a designer's intuitive creativity and the extracted logic, which can act as a basis for designers to share design language among themselves and for communication between design and other functions. Based on this system, designers are able to align design work with the set goal, and focus and limit the range of form development, which is anticipated to result in lead-time reduction and minimizing unnecessary obstacles and mistakes.

  • The formation of early korean scientific community is a dynamic process of korean modern history in which colonialization, liberation, United States Army Military Government and Korean War is included. Particularly, scientist's crossing over the border into north korea and south korea have profound effect on the early stage of our scientific community. This period is so important to understand the nature of korean scientific community that we need to re-interpret the role of 'ideology' in the development of scientific community. On the other hand, war is a important element in our formation of the image of the science. This study purported to interpret the problem of political ideology, it's role in the formation of early scientific society, it's implication on our idea of science positively. Also the study is a an attempt to re-construct the scientist's struggle(1945-1950) to demarcate new science from old, colonial science.

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대가 도래하면서 세상이 빠른 속도로 변하고 있다. 특히 데이터·인공지능(AI, Artificial Intelligence)의 활용이 적극적으로 다양한 분야에서 적용되기 시작하고 있다. 하지만 산림수종을 분석하는 업무를 수행하는 과정은 수작업으로 진행하다 보니 오류가 다수 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수도권 항공사진을 이용하여 소나무, 낙엽송, 침엽수, 활엽수를 대상으로 자동으로 분석하는 AI 학습용 데이터 약 60,000장을 구축하고, 수종을 구분할 수 있는 AI 모델을 개발하였다. 이를 통해 산림변화탐지 및 산림 분야 주제도 제작 시 수종 분할 이미지를 기초자료로 활용함으로써 업무효율 증대를 기대할 수 있다.

  • 최근 10 여년 동안 교육 현장의 각 부분에 여러 가지 종류의 테크놀로지가 도입되면서, 교육의 내용과 방법에 있어서 점진적인 변화가 나타나고 있다. 예를들어, 수학 과목에 있어서는 그래픽 계산기, 도형 및 기하 학습 프로그램, 스프레드 시트, 함수 그래픽 프로그램 등의 도입으로 교과 과정 전반에 걸친 변화가 일고 있는데, 처음에는 이들 테크놀로지가 단순히 기존의 수업에서 수많은 반복을 요하거나, 지필식 방식으로는 정확하게 나타내기 어려운 도형이나 그래프를 빠르고 정확하게 그려내주는 보조수단으로 사용되었지만, 시간이 지나면서 이들 테크놀로지에 대한 활용도가 높아지게 되고, 이들 테크놀로지에 대한 교사들의 활용능력이 증대됨에 다라서, 이러한 테크놀로지가 단순한 보조수단에 머무르지 않고 주지에 기술이나 개념을 설명하는 방법 자체를 변화시키고 있다. 예를들어, 함수 교육에 있어서 그래픽 프로그램이 사용될 때에도, 초기 단계에서는 이들 함수의 개념을 설명할 때에는 거의 집합론이나 대수학적인 방법을 이용하였고, 최종 단계로 이들 함수를 좌표계 위에 표현하기 위한 보조수단으로 잠깐씩 사용되는 경우가 대부분이었으나, 최근들어서는 함수 학습의 초기과정부터 곧바로 이들 그래프 프로그램을 적극적으로 도입하여 학습자로 하여금 다양한 그래프 조작을 하게 함으로써, 어려운 집합론이나 대수학적인 개념을 도입하지 않고서도 함수에 대한 개념을 시각적으로 직관적으로 파악하도록 하는 학습 방안들이 제시되고 있는 것이다. 본 고에서는 현행 중고등학교 함수 교육 과정에서 그래프에 대한 다양한 조작 기능을 제공함으로써 학습자로 하여금, 제시되는 함수에 대한 시각적이고 직관적인 이미지를 가질 수 있도록 하기 위해서 개발된 ‘그래프 마법사’라는 프로그램을 소개하고자 한다.

  • Animation is an artificial image created by artist's imagination. Animation is defined as "the art of the animated image" in the sense that immobile images can be seed as a living creature. In other words, the term "diegesis" in modern arts genre is generally considered as something that indicates fictional world in which narration develops. Therefore, when we say that animation world is formed based on diegesis, it represents the fictionality of animation world. The problem occurs at this point. Even thought the animation world is recognized as a fictional world, we contradictorily believe that the event occurring in the screen world are real and accept them as a true message. This condition is called "quasi-emotion". Quasi-emotion is not fake bit not real either, and it is the third emotional state. It happens when we "make believe" that we believe a fictitious figure or a situation. However, in order to actively operate this "make-believe" state, an appropriate environment and props are required, specially metaphorical imagination and storytelling in short animated film. So that this article will draw a conclusion from the method that make-believe the fictional world and communicate the message through analysing the short animate film, form Disney.
