  • In this paper, we suggest a cache mechanism to improve the speed fo query processing in distributed directory environment. For this, request and result and result about objects in remote site are store in the cache of local site. A cache mechanism developed through six phases; 1) Cached information which stored in distributed directory system is classified as application data, system data and meta data. 2) Cache system architecture is designed according to classified information. 3) Cache schema are designed for each cache information. 4) Least-TTL algorithms which use the weighted value of geograpical information and access frquency for replacements are developed for datacaches(application cache, system cache). 5) Operational algorithms are developed for meta data cache which has meta data tree. This tree is based on the information of past queries and improves the speed ofquery processing by reducing the scope of search space. 6) Finally, performance evaluations are performed by comparing with proposed cache mechanism and other mechanisms.

  • Through the biographical approach, the current research purports to reconstruct the Changeprocess of values and identities on the lives of the first-generation Korean-German females in Germany from the transnational perspective. Ten interviews were conducted, using Schutze's autobiographicalnarrative interview. Interview data were analyzed through the application of Schutze's autobiographical-narrative interview and Mayring's qualitative content analysis. Findings showed that on the onset of emigration, their values centered around hybrid collectivism. Their life in the process of emigration was characteristic of a shift to hybrid individualism. Furthermore, the life at beginning of emigration was found to be characterized by a singular regional identity. The process of emigration was shown to mark the conversion into dual identity, dual regional and dual national. Some theoretical and practical suggestions for the emigrants' welfare were finally offered that were associated with the process of values and identities changes in their life.

  • This research is to study the economical, psychsocial, physical pains of the elderly mens living alone and the process being out of the isolated life. From this, we expect to propose a supportive program to help the living alone of the elderly mens. Six of the elderly mens living alone joined this research and the hermeneutical grounded theory methodology was applied to interpret it. Data were collected by the depth interview and various written records and they were analyzed by Rennie(2007)'s methodology. We could construct 13 categories by analyzing and categorizing meaningful units of the data. The core theme of the living alone experience was presented as "Accepting self-existence forgotten in the swamp of isolation and preparing for the blessed death." Based upon the research outcomes, we suggested a social supportive program considering the elderly men's characters and a way to improve the accessibility to the therapy system for the elderly mens living alone and the need for a meaning therapy.

  • This study examined the parental experiences of the fathers who reared their children with brain lesions. Since a brain lesion is considered a lifelong disability, children with brain lesions need the medical and social management through their entire life. Due to the lack of specialized caring services and organizations in Korea for such children, their families are forced to take care of them. For this reason, it is necessary to study about the fathers who are rearing the children with brain lesions. For this purpose, four fathers had participated in this study and data were collected through one to one in-depth interviews. Using Giorgi(2004)'s phenomenological research method, the study results were as follows. The substantial themes were "charred heart", "surviving the hardships", "the ruins of life", "attitude against reality", "the unique composition of family life", "children as fate", "father's love." Based on the these analysis results, the implications were suggested to cure the psychological and institutional difficulties and to provide supportive services for the fathers and families who care the children with brain lesions.

  • Most of the 3D object reconstruction techniques divide the object into multiplane and approximate the surfaces of the object. The Marching Cubes Algorithm which initializes the mesh structure using a given isovalue. and Delaunay Tetrahedrisation are widely used. Deformable models are well-suited for general object reconstruction because they make little assumptions about the shape to recover and they can reconstruct objects *om various types of datasets. Now, many researchers are studying the reconstruction systems based on a deformable model. In this paper, we propose a novel method for reconstruction of 3D objects. This method, for a 3D object composed of curved planes, compresses the 3D object based on the adaptive simplexmesh technique. It changes the pre-defined mesh structure, so that it may approach to the original object. Also, we redefine the geometric characteristics such as curvatures. As results of simulations, we show reconstruction of the original object with high compression and concentration of vertices towards parts of high curvature in order to optimize the shape description.

  • This research is performed to verify a suggestive understanding and undertone on radical social workers's balanced practical experiences responding to the current situation to discover the new practical way of Korean social work so as to overcome the limitation of the above mentioned microscopic approach. It focuses on Giorgi's descriptive phenomenological study and further relating areas to provide information on Radical Social Workers'(RSW) social work practical and specific experiences and fundamental implication. This research has been participated with 9 RSWs, led the past democratic movement, have participated with this research. The data covers 84 meaningful units, 24 exposed topics, and 7 essential themes. The essential themes are as follow; lifting a latch into prepared changes, unavoidable destiny, drive for change from the bottom, collaborated forces of minority groups, changing the oppressive laws and institutions to more favorable ones for minorities, being patient and waiting required as birds breaking eggs to become a bird. Based on the collected data, Researchers discuss the main features and issues of our instituted social work practices.

  • This paper proposes the data reusable search scan methods for full search and fast search to implement low power Motion Estimation (ME). The proposed Optimized Sub-region Partitioning (OSP) method which divide search region into several sub-region can reduce the number of the required Reconfigurable Register Array (RRA) by half compared to the existing smart snake scan method for the same data reusability. In addition, the proposed Center Biased Search Scan method (CBSS) for various fast search algorithms can improve the data reusability. The performance comparisons show that the proposed search scan methods can reduce the average redundant data loading about 26.9% and 16.1% compared with the existing rater scan and snake scan methods, respectively. Due to the reduction of memory accesses, the proposed search scan methods are quite suitable for low power and high performance ME implementation.

  • In this paper we draw from recent theoretical discussions of fan culture and the new media technologies to explore how online communities contribute to new forms of K-pop fandom. We suggest that these online sites play an important role in setting the new stage of dissemination and dialogue of K-pop knowledge, through which particular forms and spaces of online fan culture are being created and sustained. Moreover, these web-based communities challenge the existing concepts that have embraced interrelations between culture, consumption and technology. Based on an empirical study of YouTube, carried out using netnographic methods, this study tackles the following questions: how fans construct themselves as Korean pop fans through the online activities; how they exchange information and opinions of Korean stars; and, what meaning they extract from online file-sharing activities.

  • This paper descbibes a fuzzy multiobjective linear programming, which is a relatively new approach in forestry in solving forest management problems. At first, the fuzzy set theory is explained briefly and the fuzzy linear programming(FLP) and the fuzzy multiobjective linear programming(FMLP) are introduced conceptionally. With the information obtained from the study area in Thailand, a standard linear programming problem is formulated, and optimal solutions (present net worth) are calculated for four groups of timber price by this LP model, respectively. This LP model is reformulated to a fuzzy multiobjective linear programming model to accommodate uncertain timber values and with this FMLP model a compromise solution is attained. Optimal solutions of four objective functions for four timber price groups and the compromise solution are compared and discussed.

  • Culture is not only a factor of a life worthy of man, but also that of beauty and fluency of life,so it works as a key to show differences in the quality of life. Paying attention to culture, which plays a role to create new things, is a source of high-added value. The term of cultural contents was derived in21C, combining digital skills with art. We are going to reconstruct and develope cultural properties such as remains, pottery, pictures, as a way of restoration for cultural contents with the view of reinterpretation. In this paper, we reinterpreted the pictures which were based on three particular elements in Chosun Dinasty- poetry, handwriting, and picture, and we produced 3D objects after analyzing texts and images in multimedia works applied with source pictures. As a highlighted method of restoration for cultural contents, we produced the work which can be interacted and has three dimensional objects getting out of appreciating of plane images. We presented a method of informing our culture with 3D Mong-yu-do-won-do, which used traditional paintings by being improved user friendliness and accessibility.
