In railways powered by AC power, the main circuit breaker (MCB) is used for supplying the electric power to the catenary of the vehicle. Generally, the main circuit breaker is located between the pantograph and the main transformer, and the phase of the power applied to the vehicle changes according to the operation timing of the main circuit breaker. The operation of the main circuit breaker should be actively controlled according to the phase of the power source, since the phase of the power causes unintended transient states in the vehicle's electrical system in the form of an inrush current and surge voltage. However, the MCB has a delay time when it operates which is not constant. Therefore, an intelligent controller is needed to predict the operation delay time and control the opening and closing of the MCB.

This study reviewed camouflage techniques to reduce the visual detect-ability of aircraft. Visual camouflage can be defined as the process of making objects less visible. Aircraft visual camouflage delays detection of the aircraft position, speed, and flight direction. Multi-tone and counter-shaded schemes are generally adopted as camouflage patterns for close-air-support aircraft and air-superiority aircraft, respectively. Another study showed that the monotone scheme is also efficient when the hue and brightness of the camouflage color are controlled correctly. Active camouflage techniques for aircraft have been studied to increase the camouflage effectiveness. In particular, counter-illumination techniques using electroluminescence devices can minimize the difference in brightness between the aircraft and sky background. Active camouflage techniques are expected to enhance the survivability of low-altitude UAVs, which are vulnerable to visual detection.
Recently, as flash memory is used as digital storage devices, necessity for digital forensics is growing in a flash memory area for digital evidence analysis. For this purpose, it is important to recover crashed files stored on flash memory efficiently. However, it is inefficient to apply the hard disk based file recovery techniques to flash memory, since hard disk and flash memory have different characteristics, especially flash memory being unable to in-place update. In this paper, we propose a flash-aware file recovery technique for digital forensics. First, we propose an efficient search technique to find all crashed files. This uses meta-data maintained by FTL(Flash Translation Layer) which is responsible for write operation in flash memory. Second, we advise an efficient recovery technique to recover a crashed file which uses data location information of the mapping table in FTL. Through diverse experiments, we show that our file recovery technique outperforms the hard disk based technique.

Problems created by supersonic jet impinging on solid objects or ground arise in a variety of situations. For example multi-stage rocket separation, deep-space docking, V/STOL aircraft, jet-engine exhaust, gas-turbine blade, terrestrial rocket launch, and so on. These impinging jet flows generally contain a complex structures. (mixed subsonic and supersonic regions, interacting shocks and expansion waves, regions of turbulent shear layer) This paper describes experimental works on the phenomena (surface pressure distribution, flow visualization) when underexpanded supersonic jets impinge on the perpendicular, inclined plate using a supersonic cold-(low system. The used supersonic nozzle is convergent-divergent type, exit Mach number 2, The maximum on the plate when it was inclined was much larger than perpendicular plate, owing to high pressure recoveries through multiple shocks. Surface pressure distribution as to underexpanded ratio showed similar patterns together.
This paper describes on the design of Passive-type Radar Reflector for small Ship (PRR-S) based on the newly revised 2000 SOLAS regulations. The design idea, adopted in the study, is to hold PRR-S in the proper ‘catch rain’ position to avoid fluctuations of Radar Cross Section (RCS) due to ship's heeling. The PRR-S consists of octahedral-type radar reflector with circular plates and three-axis gimbaled stabilizer with weight on the bottom of outer gimbal ring. Performance test for the PRR is carried out in an anechoic chamber. The test results show that the reflected radar signal from PRR-S is more uniformly distributed than the reference model (Davis Echomaster).

A theoretical study on gas-liquid two-phase flow flushing systemnitrogen gas to the oil used for existing flushing equipment was conducted on the basis of ISO code so as to improve performance of existing high-temperature oil flushing equipment used in ocean plant facility drying field. For study, we analyzed process simulation results mixed fluid mixing ratio, temperature, Reynolds number and liquid hold up affectcleaning performance after designing oil-nitrogen gas mixture flushing system process. As a result, as the volume flow rate of mixed fluid increases with the tube diameter the volume fraction of the gas phase constant, the liquid fraction difference value at the inlet and outlet of horizontal hydraulic piping increases. It was found that the phase distribution between oil and nitrogen gas bubbles varies depending on the position the pipe lengthdirection. This change in phase distribution is expected to have a significant impact on the clean performance of an oil-nitrogen gas mixture flushing system.
In this paper a novel method improving the accuracy of DTMF tone reception in ARS system is proposed. ARS system should allow users to generate DTMF signals while it is sending voice guidance. It is not unocmmon, in this case, that a portion of transmitting voice signals cross-talks to the receiving channel and it often results in interfering with the receiving DTMF signals. Serious degradations including DTMF tone missing, false alarm and so forth have been introduced for the above reason. To overcome this phenomena, we have proposed a way eliminating the frequency spectra representing DTMF signals bands from the transmitting voice signal by using notch filters. This method also employs bandpass filters of which the frequency responses are reciprocal to those of the notch filters incorporated with the DTMF receiver. It is shown that a drastic improvement has been achieved with respect to the DTMF tone detection with little deterioration of voice guidance quality.

This study examined the involvement of histamine in heat-induced changes in pulpal blood flow(PBF) to determine the mechanism of neurogenic inflammation in feline dental pulp. The experiments were carried out in 10 felines anesthetized with sodium pentobartial and histamine injected into the dental pulp through the external carotid artery. The change in the pulpal PBF was measured using a laser Doppler flowmeter(Periflux 4001, Stockholm, Sweden). The probe of laser Doppler flowmeter was placed on the buccal surface of the ipsilateral canine teeth. Heat was applied to the tooth using a heat stimulator controlled script file with an input/output device. The application of heat ($40-65^{\circ}C$) induced a significant increase in PBF. The application of histamine($5{\mu}g/kg/1ml$) followed by heat($45^{\circ}C$) resulted in an increase in PBF. Therefore, the results of the present study showed that heat and histamine are capable of vasoconstriction caused by neurogenic inflammation in feline dental pulp. In addition, neurogenic inflammation plays an active role in modulating the microcirculation of the dental pulp.
This study is the material of the additional filter(Cu, Ni, CaWO4, Gd+Ba) being used when the diagnosis X-ray was varied to evaluate the spatial dose distribution accordingly. And it suggest to find a suitable material. Experiments using MCNPX program based on the Monte Carlo simulation method was carried out by selecting the chest and abdomen taken. As a result, each material per dose, the average scatter dose is approximately 62%, 100 cm radius of the point of the simulated body surface exposure dose and 50 cm radius centered on the point average about 47%. It is determined that an Al material is currently available in accordance with the result to be replaced by Cu, Ni material is sufficient. With just the thickness due to the difference in the atomic number and density adjusted to be about one-tenth of the Al it will be suitable.
This paper describes the development of an automatic dependent surveillance system(ADS) with Java on Web environment. The ADS consists of a server module and a client one. The server module performs a database server for gathering GPS data from airplanes. It also dose an Web server function for sending Java applet to clients. The applet enables each client to obtain the current flight information from the server via the Internet without a special client software. This client-server based ADS with Java environment has several advantages over other systems. One is not to need for installing special client software on each client system. The other is its simplicity on system maintenance. The reason why it has simplicity is to require only server program modification including the applet without updating client software. After testing the ADS system with the flight information of a Mooney, we can show that the prototype system can be a candidate for developing commercial products.
