  • This paper introduces rule-based reasoning (RBR) based self-recovery system for network fault in ubiquitous computing. This system is fault management system for fault recovery of rule-based for self-recovery in ubiquitous computing environment. We proposed rules of network fault recovery applied the system as a distinguished reason of network fault. And, in this paper, the network fault self-recovery system proved the rules that applied each situatpion through the simulation.

  • This paper proposes fault diagnosis and correction algorithms using agent collaboration, and a management model for managing network configuration faults. This management model is composed of three processes-fault detection, fault diagnosis and fault correction. Each process, based on RBR, operates on using rules which are consisted in Rule-based Knowledge Database. Proposed algorithm selves the complex fault problem that a system could not work out by itself, using agent collaboration. And the algorithm does efficiently diagnose and correct network configuration faults in abnormal network states.

  • 본 논문은 RBR(Rule-Based Reasoning) 기법과 RBR 기법에 적용될 규칙에 대한 우선순위를 둠으로써 효율적인 네트워크 설정을 만드는 동시에 네트워크 장애 발생시 장애를 진단 검출복구하는 에이전트 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 논문에서 제시하는 시스템은 AS 내에서 동작하는 것을 원칙으로 하며 각 네트워크의 에이전트들은 우선 순위 장애 탐지 및 복구를 위해 우선 순위에 따라 규칙을 적용한다. 장애 발생시 진단 검출 복구를 위해 에이전트는 상호 협력하며 장애 검출 및 진단 도구로써 ping, traceroute 등을 이용한다.

  • Recently, the Multi-Layer Restoration(MLR) algorithm was proposed by British Telecom(BT) to restore the network failures in Digital Cross-connect System(DCS) mesh survival network[1, 2]. This algorithm has multi restoration stage which is composed of the pre-planned and dynamic restoration. This algorithm is effective its ability in link or node failures. This reason is that it does not restore in the pre-planned rstoration stage but in dynamic restoration stage. In this paper, we propose the MLR with pre-planned Multi-Chooser(PMC) and successive restoration ratio algorithm. This proposed algorithm has a excellent performance for restortion time and ratio, spare channel availability and fast restoration from multiple link failure or node failure. This paper proposed the modeling and restoration algorithm, and analyzed the performance of the algorithm by simulation using OPNET(OPtimized Network Engineering Tools).

  • This paper is aimed at defining items of fault, and then constructing rules of fault diagnosis and recovery using INBANCA technology for the purpose of managing the weh server. The fault items of web server consist of the process fault, server overload, network interface fault, configuration and performance fault. Based on these items, the actual fault management is carried out fault referencing. In order to reference the fault, we have formulated the system-level fault diagnosis production rule and the service-level fault diagnosis rule, conjunction with translating management knowledge into active network. Also, adaptive recovery mechanism of web server is applied to defining recovery rule and constructing case library for case-based web server fault recovery. Finally, through the experiment, fault environment and applicability of each proposed production rule and recovering scheme are presented to verify justification of proposed diagnosis rules and recovery mechanism for fault management. An intelligent case-based fault management scheme proposed in this paper can minimize an effort of web master to remove fault incurred web administration and operation.

  • The Social infrastructure systems such as communication, transportation, power and water supply systems are now facing various types of threats including component failures, security attacks and natural disasters, etc. Whenever such undesirable events occur, it is crucial to recover the system as quickly as possible because the downtime of social infrastructure causes catastrophic consequences in the society. Especially when there is a network link-failure, we need an automatic link-recovery method. This means that customers are aware of network failures that can be recovered before you say that service. In this paper, we analysis the relation between Auto-recovery performance and cost.

A Restoration Method Using Duplication Paths in MPLS Networks (MPLS 망에서 이중화 경로를 이용한 복구 방법)

  • To increase network survivability and to guarantee reliable services in MPLS networks, when failures occur either at any link or node of a working path, traffics on the failed path should be switched to other restoration paths. In this paper, we propose a path restoration method using duplication of working paths for link failure and its associated failure detection method, which utilizes OAM cells when all the duplicated links or nodes of the path failed. We analyze the performance of the proposed restoration method and show that especially the method is very efficient to restore high priority traffics. Also, through simulation we prove that the proposed restoration method is superior in performance to several existing methods suggested so far.

  • 2001년 세계무역센터의 테러사건을 계기로 구축되기 시작한 국내 재해복구시스템(DRS)은 재해가 발생할 상황에서만 활용되고, 그 이외의 용도로는 사용되지 못하고 있기 때문에 시스템 활용률이 낮다. 이러한 점에 착안하여 본 연구에서는 재해복구시스템의 가용성 및 활용성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 재해복구시스템은 재해가 발생했을 때뿐만 아니라 시스템 장애나 테스트시스템, 웹 서버 및 재해복구 네트워크의 활용 용도로 확대 운영할 수 있음을 본 연구에서 보여준다. 또한 이미 구축된 재해복구시스템의 사용 현황을 분석하고, 재해복구시스템의 용도 개선 방안을 제시함으로써 향후 재해복구시스템의 가용성 및 활용도를 높이고자 한다.

  • Home service networked system gets more its fault chances, which are fault by the external factors, network fault, home appliance fault, and so on. Moreover, user may want to pay no attention to a sequence of complex or nervous maintenance jobs for system fault management. Therefore, home management system needs the function of home service recovery for fault home device. For this, this paper manages to design home network control log, and proposes the method for securing the home device service continuity analyzing home device service log in the point of fault.

  • 최근 VOD 서버 모델로 제안되는 클러스터형 VOD 서버는 확장이 용이하여 서버의 가용성을 높일 수 있다는 장점이 있지만 서버에 노드수가 증가하면서 서버에 장애가 발생할 가능성이 높아진다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 클러스터형 VOD서버에서 노드 장긴 발생시 이를 복구하기 위한 방안으로서 RAID-3와 RAID-4의 특성을 취합, 보완하는 복구 시스템을 제시하고자 한다. 본 복구 시스템은 RAID-4 개념을 도입하여 디스크로의 접근을 큰 사이즈의 블록단위로 함으로써 디스크의 효율성을 증가시키며, 네트웍에는 RAID-3 개념을 적용하여 작은 사이즈의 블록으로 나누어 전송함으로써 네트웍을 효율적으로 사용하고 백업서버의 메모리 부하를 줄일 수 있도록 한다.
