This study empirically analyzes casual relationships among psychological and financial factors influencing the subscription of individual pension and identifies mediation effect by the structural equation model. The analysis based on survey data (N=928) from common people living in the seven major cities in Korea shows that potential longevity, coping efficacy to the financial risks from longevity, subjective knowledge on longevity (cognitive factor), trust in insurers (social factor), and financial literacy(financial factor) are key players exercising direct influence over the subscription of individual pension. It also has been shown that affect on longevity, potential longevity, trust in government, and coping efficacy influence the emotions on longevity, fear and worry, and emotions on longevity are not significant in explaining the subscription of individual pension. Trust in insurers and financial knowledge of prospects have also been reaffirmed to be crucial factors in the activation of individual pension subscription.

Vespa hornets are notorious predators of honeybees in Korean beekeeping. Detection of vespa hornet attacking on honeybee colony was tried through analysis of wing beat frequency profiling from Vespa mandarinia. Wing beat profiles of V. mandarinia during active flight and resting were distinctively different. From the wing beat profiling, algorithm of automated detection of vespa attack was encoded, and alert system was developed using Teensy 3.2 and Raspberry pi 3. From the laboratory testing, the prototype system successfully detected vespa wing beats and delivered the vespa attack information to the user wirelessly. Further development of the system could help precision alert system of the vespa attack to apiary.

This study analyzed the causal relationship among factors that influence the purchase intensions for individual pensions which have a growing importance as a financial means after retirement. For this purpose, structural equation modeling based on the survey data (N = 928) was conducted to analyze psychological factors and financial factors comprehensively. According to empirical results of the structural equation, in the case of non-subscribers of individual pensions, potential longevity and coping efficacy influenced the purchase intensions for individual pensions fully mediated by fear and worry about longevity. Trust in insurers and risk tolerance directly influenced the purchase intensions for individual pensions. These show that trust in insurers is the most important factor in purchase intensions for individual pensions. Also, only trust in insurers give a direct impact on individual pensions in the case of individual pension subscribers. Longevity-related emotional side is expected to help in marketing activities that target potential customers signing individual pensions. In addition, trust in insurers has the greatest impact on new and additional subscriptions that represent critical efforts to improve trust in insurers.

For artificial cultivation of Phellinus baumii, we have conducted a study on cultural characteristics and condition of fruitbody formation in sawdust cultivation. Mycelial density and incubation rate were higher in oak sawdust+rice bran (4 : 1) medium than oak sawdust 100% medium. However, primordia and fruitbody formation were higher in oak sawdust 100% medium than rice bran added medium. Bigger bottle capacity (1,100 ml) resulted in a little higher yield and more biological efficiency than 850 ml bottle.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze industrial and innovation networks of long-live area of Honam Region and to suggest a policy direction for regional development of rural areas where have been neglected in the knowledge-based information society. Four counties (Sunchang, Damyang, Gokseong, and Gurye) in the Southwestern region of Korea are regarded as long-live belt of Korea. Production and innovation networks :Ire analyzed based on intensive surveys of firms in the belt. Major findings from the surveys are as follows. First, there are considerably strong local networks of production firms in terms of supply of input materials and labor. There are strong backward industrial linkages of the production firms with agricultural activities and considerable forward linkages with tourism industry. In addition, Internet is becoming a useful tool for sales of the new products. Second, the analysis of the innovation networks in the long-live area suggests the development of 'virtual innovation cluster' in the era of knowledge-based information society. The results imply that this innovation networks can be developed as a virtual innovation cluster in the rural areas, which can be the basis for the development of rural innovation systems.

There is an increasing number of car fires along with the increasing numbers of cars. The purpose of this study was to verify the possibility of fires caused by car tuning, which is one of the causes of car fires. The result showed that the possibility of car fires was increased by car tuning including replacement of headlights, excess of allowable current of wires or fuses by using multi cigar jacks, wire damage, earth fault, and vulnerability of wires and cables (sold in auto parts stores) to heat.
