Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors affecting the intention to donate organs among high school students. Methods: Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure the knowledge, attitudes, and intention regarding organ donation among 382 high school students in three high schools in one city in December 2018. Data analysis using SPSS 20.0 included a chi-squared test, the Mann-Whitney U test and a logistic regression model. Results: 69.9% of the subjects responded they had intention to donate organs. The factors influencing their organ donation intention were interest in organ donation (odds ratio: OR=3.49, p<.001), knowing the meaning of brain death (OR=7.79, p<.001), acceptive attitude (OR=4.35, p<.001), and exclusive attitude (OR=0.34, p<.001). Conclusion: Organ donation intention is an important factor in the interest in, knowledge of, and positive attitude towards organ donation. High school students should be educated to improve their knowledge and positive attitude regarding organ donation to increase their intention to donate organs.

Background: Lung transplantation (LTx) is a life-saving treatment for patients with end-stage lung disease; however, the shortage of donor lungs has been a major limiting factor to increasing the number of LTx. Growing experience following LTx using donor lungs after cardiac death (DCD) has been promising, although concerns remain. The purpose of this study was to develop a DCD lung harvest model using an ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) system and to assess the function of presumably damaged lungs harvested from the DCD donor in pigs. Methods: The 40 kg pigs were randomly divided into the control group with no ischemic lung injury (n=5) and the study group (n=5), which had 1 hour of warm ischemic lung injury after cardiac arrest. Harvested lungs were placed in the EVLP circuit and oxygen capacities (OC), pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), and peak airway pressure (PAP) were evaluated every hour for 4 hours. At the end of EVLP, specimens were excised for pathologic review and wet/dry ratio. Results: No statistically significant difference in OC (P=0.353), PVR (P=0.951), and PAP (P=0.651) was observed in both groups. Lung injury severity score (control group vs. study group: 0.700±0.303 vs. 0.870±0.130; P=0.230) and wet/dry ratio (control group vs. study group: 5.89±0.97 vs. 6.20±0.57; P=0.560) also showed no statistically significant difference between the groups. Conclusions: The function of DCD lungs assessed using EVLP showed no difference from that of control lungs without ischemic injury; therefore, utilization of DCD lungs can be a new option to decrease the number of deaths on the waiting list.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing factors university students' will toward brain death organ donation. Methods: Data from 250 students were collected using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a chi-squared test, independent t-test, and binary logistic regression with the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Factors influencing will of brain death organ donation were announcing to decision to engage in brain death donation(Confidence interval(CI)=3.02-32.14, p<.001), experience of having discussed brain death organ donation with others(CI=1.26-5.72, p=.011), intention to make advance directives(ADs)(CI=1.90-9.57., p<.001), and positive attitude toward ADs(CI=1.05-1.29, p=.004). Conclusions: The most important factors affecting the will of brain death organ donation were making an informed decision regarding organ donation, intending to make an AD, having engaged in organ donation conversation, and a positive attitude toward ADs.
It is necessary to expand organ donations of the deceased, as more ethical problems are emerging from the increase in organ donations from the living. As the legal and ethical discussions on donation after circulatory death (DCD) as a field with the potential to expand such domestic organ donation are being held, the need for a social consensus is increasingly highlighted. Organ DCD refers to the donation of an organ from a patient whose spontaneous blood circulation has stopped due to cardiac death. In this study, we aimed to examine whether there are legal and ethical obstacles or medical uncertainties for expanding the practice of DCD. By law, death is recognized as cardiac death, and brain death is recognized as an exception for organ transplantation. Although circulatory death precedes brain death, this paper presents a discussion to begin the process of reaching an ethical and legal agreement on whether or not circulatory death can be recognized as death. Successful implementations of DCD, including Category III DCD, in other countries are currently being reviewed to introduce Category III DCD in Korea.
Purpose: This study was to identify the attitude of Korean HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)-positive men toward death. Methods: A Q-methodology was performed with 20 HIV-positive male individuals. Participants were asked to select and answer questions among a set of 40 Q-statements using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using the PC QUANL program. Results: Participants' attitudes toward death were categorized into four types. Type I was characterized by respect for life, type II by reality orientation, type III by pain evasion and type IV religious beliefs. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an assessment tool and an intervention program for HIV-positive individuals.
This study aims to analyze the film "Never Let Me" by human value which is to be realized in the social structure suppressed by the power of life and the power of discipline in Foucault 's power theory. After 18century having changed monarch power holding the power of life-and-death that enforced corporal punishment, bio-power that corrected body and granted ability suitable discipline to people makes people worked like machine. In control of the bio-power, human achieved safe desire that cure disease and prolong life-span and worked as producer goods. School controls body and make people internalized rule using discipline for working bio-power efficiently. There is differentiation between this movie and the other about human clone. The clones adapt role as organ donator without resistance and there is no conflict between original and copy. Instead of preexistence novel and movie that is set in future, it is a form of past retrospect from the 1970s to 1990s. having emotions, They find independence ego and realize value of life in finite living by depending relation or undergoing loss.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate level of knowledge and attitude about organ donation in university and provide basic information on correct education and promotion. Method. The purpose of this study was to examine the level of human rights sensitivity and the types of perception in regards to the human rights of college students to enhance their human rights sensitivity. The study methodology included a t-test and variance analysis for the level of human rights sensitivity, and a Q-factor analysis for the perception types of human rights. As a result of examining whether there is a difference in human right sensitivity, it was found that female students were higher than male students, and juniors and seniors were higher than freshmen and sophomores. The human rights sensitivity of the students in the social and science department were the highest, and those who had volunteer experiences were more susceptible to human rights than those who did not. Students who registered for organ donation were higher than those who did not, and those who received human rights education showed higher human rights susceptibility than those who did not. Four perception types of human rights were analyzed 'universal social moralists', those who have an idealistic mindset and make decisions based on moral standards, 'practical realists', those who have no intention of breaking out of the social norm and who do not want to take any risks for human rights, 'social system advocates', those who have a clear understanding of the basic human rights concept, but don't think that they should break the rules of society for the sake of individual rights, and 'social contracts advocates', those who are willing to bend the rules of society for human rights, but not to the extent of ruining relationships. These study results are expected to contribute to the possibility of the social viewpoint that human rights sensitivity can be developed in the context of social experience as well as perception.

Passive fit of prosthesis is an essential property of implant supported prosthesis for long term success and minimization of complications. And the property is determined mostly by fabrication procedure. There were limitations of extensive implant prosthesis because conventional casting method generate contraction error of long span prosthesis. However, Computer-aided design/Computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology of 3D printing and milling metal framework can overcome those limitations. This case is a full mouth rehabilitation using extensive implant fixed prosthesis. Removable interim prosthesis was made for esthetic, functional evaluation and a guide for implant insertion. After the insertion, implant fixed interim prosthesis was delivered. After additional evaluation and adjustment, final prosthesis was designed with CAD, the fabricated with CAM. Milling technique was used for anterior screw type implant superstructure and 3D printing technique was used for the anterior and posterior implant copings. Fit of the final restoration was favorable. The practitioner and patient were both esthetically and functionally satisfied with the final result.

This study is a preliminary survey to determine the desired demanding well-dying education requirements for subjects aged 65 years or older according to their family's death experience. The results of this study report that all subjects needed well-dying education regardless of their family's death experience. In addition, 71.8% of those who had experienced family deaths said they needed education. On the other hand, 40% of those with no family deaths said that education was needed. Both groups responded as needing well-dying education based on the meaning of death and value of life. Groups with family death experiences hoped to include 'how to overcome sadness related to the death of family and friends' and 'information about organ or body donation procedures'. Both groups responded that 1 week was appropriate for the duration of well-dying education, and that the lectures and discussions were appropriate for the education method. In the future, well-dying education will require sustainable education, not one-offs, and education for the family as well as the elderly.
