  • Objectives : It is considered that the education of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the preparation for quick response to cardiac arrest are very important to dental hygiene students who get employed in dental clinics and hospitals after graduation. The purpose of the study is to investigate the perception, attitude and knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) in dental hygiene students and to provide basic data to educate CPR education program for the dental hygiene students. Methods : The study subjects were 260 students in the department of dental hygiene in J city health college. A self-reported questionnaire was conducted from May 1st to 31st 2013. A frequency analysis and x2-test was carried out to confirm the general characteristics of the 260 respondents. Results : The perception rate of the CPR was 55.8%(145 persons). There were positive correlations between perception and attitude of CPR (r=.202) and attitude and knowledge(r=.249). Conclusions : CPR performance is the vital to the cardiac arrest victim. So it is necessary to educate the dental hygiene students in case of emergency situation. It is necessary to educate CPR and basic life support (BLS) in dental hygiene students.

  • The characteristic properties of aluminum, high strength stiffness to weight ratio, good formability, good corrosion resistence, and recycling potential make it the ideal candidate to replace heavier materials in the car to respond to the weight reduction demand within the automotive industry. In this paper, FE simulation was carried out to design an appropriate extrusion die for the automobile control arm. Based on the FE simulation result, a new die design has been proposed for uniform material flow in the cross section of extruded product. And then the welding pressure, extrusion load, and the tendency of mandrel deflection were estimated to verify high quality. In the extrusion experiment, it was possible to produce sound product without defects.

  • In this study, specimens such as tongue, supragingival and subgingival biofilm were taken from total 20 scaling subjects who visited the oral prophylaxis practice lab at department of dental hygienics, J Health College in order to observe bacterial distributions and morphology using scanning electron microscopy(sem). as a result, this study came to the following conclusions: 1. According to observation of tongue, supragingival and subgingival biofilm through sem, it is found that there are round colonies of gram-positive cocci and gram-negative bacilli on blood agar medium. 2. The observation of bacterial morphology on dental biofilm through sem, cocci in chain cocci in cluster and bacillus(rod) respectively. 3. For tongue biofilm, it is found that a variety of bacterial species are detected, such as Granulicatolla adiacens(1), Gemella morbillorum(3), Streptococcus mitis(2), Streptococcus sanguinis(1), Aerococcus viridans (2), Streptococcus equinus(1), Leuconostoc spp.(1), Gemella haemolysans (1) and Lactococcus lactis spp.(1) respectively. 4. For supragingival biofilm, it is found that a variety of bacterial species detected, such as Aerococcus viridans(1), Gemella haemolysans(2), Leuconostoc spp.(2), Gemella morbillorum(1) and Pseudomonas fluoescens (1) respectively. 5. For subgingival biofilm, it is found that a variety of bacterial species detected, such as Leuconostoc spp.(1), Staphylococcus lugdunensis(1) and Streptococcus salivarius(1) respectively.

Results : Concerning awareness of implant, the patients aged between 41 and 50 were best aware of implant with 2.85(p<0.05). By education, those who received college or higher education were best aware of it with 3.53(p<0.001). By income, those whose income was three million won or more were best aware of it with 2.95(p<0.05). As for expectations for implant, the women expected more from it with 2.89(p<0.01). By age, those aged between 41 and 50 had the biggest expectations with 3.63(p<0.001). By education, the patients whose income ranged between 2 and 2.99 million won had the greatest expectations with 2.91(p<0.05). Education and occupation made no significant differences to that. In regard to correlation among their knowledge, awareness and expectations for implant, there was a positive correlation between their knowledge and awareness(0.439), and their awareness had a negative correlation to their expectations(-0.147). Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings suggested that what patients expect from implant should accurately be grasped when counseling is provided, and that accurate information should be provided to them as well. Their cooperation should be requested during implant treatment, and special post-care programs should be prepared to boost their quality of life after receiving implant treatment. Quality medical services should be offered in proportion to the cost of treatment in order to satisfy their expectations.
