  • Flat-panel detector (FPD) used in digital radiographic imaging systems was used to perform a quantitative power spectrum evaluation as a result of the thickness change of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a tissue equivalent. As the PMMA thickness increases with the resolution-chart phantom image, the effect of the scattering line increases, indicating that the modulation characteristics decrease, and the image is bright. The results show that the noise of the image increases, and noise-power spectral images are obtained by Fourier transform to confirm by spatial frequency. Thus, it can be verified that the PMMA thickness and noise are proportional through the result of evaluating the change of resolution characteristics and representing the 2D noise-power spectrum as one-dimensional values by evaluating the change of scattering line with MTF as the PMMA thickness increases in the image.

  • Reactor power frequency spectrum measurements at various power levela-OW, 1KW, 50KW, 100KW were made with TRIGA-MARK-II. An ion chamber was exposed to reactor flux, and the fluctions in its output current were analyed in a tunable bandpass filter to get the frequency spectrum of these fluctuation. The measured frequency spectrum of pile determined the modules of modules of zero power transfer function and indicated a prompt neutron mean life time of (7.90$\pm$1.62)X10 sec based on effective delayed neutron faction of 0.0075. The absolute value of reactor power obtained by noise analysis agreed within 5% with the power meter indication at the power below 10Kw.

  • This paper deals with a problem of detecting BCC using confocal raman spectrum. Specially, we propose Fisher measure based filtering for rejection of frequency components being noisy or non-discriminative. we use PCA (principal component analysis) for reduction of feature space dimension. Also, we apply MAP detector for classification of BCC raman spectrum. The experimental results shows that our proposed method can reduce the feature dimension and also raise the detection ratio.

  • Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular dementia (VD) are the most common dementia. In this paper, we proposed a region selection for classification of AD, VD and normal (NOR) based on micro-Raman spectra from platelet. The preprocessing step is a smoothing followed by background elimination to the original spectra. Then we applied the minmax method for normalization. After the inspection of the preprocessed spectra, we found that 725-777, 1504-1592 and 1632-1700 $cm^{-1}$ regions are the most discriminative features in AD, VD and NOR spectra. We applied the feature transformation using PCA (principal component analysis) and NMF (nonnegative matrix factorization). The classification result of MAP(maximum a posteriori probability) involving 327 spectra transformed features using proposed local region showed about 92.8 % true classification average rate.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the quality of digital X-ray imaging system. The image quality evaluation was conducted By using Modulation transfer function indicating the quantitative resolution of the image and the noise power spectrum showing the noise characteristics. Using a IEC61267 radiation quality was applied to the geometry to be used in clinical and geometry presented in IEC62220-1 and Additional filter, grid, the clinical dose and the MTF value of edge phantom was measured. Result of the MTF corresponding to each item(Grid, Filter, SID, kVp, mAs), the clinical condition 100cm, 180cm, measurements of the spatial frequency of the MTF IEC62220-1Geometry 150cm became similarly apparent, rather spatial frequency was also the case high in clinical conditions 100cm. NPS results, as the dose(mAs) is increased, NPS showed that reduced. The image quality evaluation using IEC61267 the Radiation quality, Image quality of the video using the clinical conditions Geometry than image quality evaluation using IEC62220-1Geometry was better. It shows that MTF and NPC in IEC and clinical condition were not significantly different. In order to apply the evaluation method of image quality applied with clinical conditions rather than the future method, to be presented evaluation of IEC standard, based on the results of the image characterization studies in this paper, the methods that shows good quality of spatial resolution and decrease NPS value as the least dose, used suitable parameters for whether or not using added filter, grid, change SID and clinical quality(kVp), dose(mAs) etc should be found. then It is believed to be able to properly maintain the actual quality of the image of the digital radiographic imaging system in clinical.

  • In this paper, presented is the result of a digital implementation of a FM stereo composite signal generator. The chip utilizing DDFS(Direct Digital Frequency Synthesizer architecture is implemented using $1.0\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS gate-array technology thereby replacing analog componentry. To verify the process of generating composite signals a conventional logic simulation method was used. The processed chip was mounted on an evaluation PCB to test and analyze to signals. According to the measurement result obtained by using a 12-bit DAC, the digital FM composite signal generator produces a 74DB spectrally pure signal over its entire tuning range, which is superior to that of analog counterpart by 14dB in it spectral reponse. And further enhancements of the spectral response is expected to be achieved by using a high resolution digital to analog converter, such as a 16-bit DAC. The resulting signals is superior to the signal of the analoy circuitry typically used, in major characteristics such as S/N ratios, accuracy, tuning stability, and signal seperation.

  • Images acquired by a digital X-ray imaging system are inherently degraded due to system degradation process and additive noise sources. The system degradation in image quality is typically described as the system response function characterized by the modulation transfer function (MTF) and the noise term described as the noise power spectrum (NPS). In this case, we can restore the blur image as close as possible to the original image by using modified filtering designed for digital imaging system, as we know more precisely about the MTF and the NPS. In this paper, by performing simulation, we tried to restore blurred images taken from a digital X-ray imaging system based upon conventional filtering techniques such as a direct-inverse filtering, limited-inverse filtering, or a Wiener filtering, and evaluated the characteristics of the image restoration.

  • In optical system, the signal and additive noise for statistical properties of a variety of ways to evaluate the performance of the system is essential for the optimization. In this paper, performance analysis of spectrum-sliced optical system in the optical pre-amplifier in the receiver the received signal by including the error limits for the bit that is, the bit error rate (BER: Bit Error Rate) required to maintain the average optical power represents the number of photons per bit is included in this paper to digital form, noticeable signal the receiver to calculate the sensitivity of the method for the calculation was performed. The general strength of the transmission of the modulated signal and digital signal transmission was required for the comparison of optical power. As shown in Figure 3, the general strength of the digital signal transmission system for transmitting a modulated signal compared with the case is improved by at least 10dB.
