Potential Similarity Measuring For Partial Image Matching (부분 영상 매칭을 위한 잠재적 유사성 측정 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 부분 영상 매칭을 위한 잠재적 유사성 측정 기법을 제안한다. 영상 매칭은 영상 DB 검색이나 컴퓨터 비전 분야에서 매우 중요한 기법이지만 아직까지는 적용되는 영상의 분야가 한정되어 있는 것이 현실이다. 영상 DB 검색의 경우 찾고자 하는 영상내의 물체를 정확하게 알고 있을 경우도 있지만, 영상의 일부분이나 원하는 영상과 원하지 않는 영상이 섞여 있는 것을 기준으로 영상을 검색할 경우도 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 두 개의 영상을 매칭할 경우, 각 영상에서 유사한 부분이 존재하는지 여부를 판별할 수 있는 잠재적 유사성, 측정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 영상이 부분 정보를 사용하며, 회전, 배경에 불변적이고, 영상 분할을 필요로 하지 않고, 잡음에 강하다. 제안된 방법에서는 매칭 속도를 높이기 위하여, 유사성을 계산하기 전에 영상 농도치 변이 계수를 사용하여 사전 필터링을 시도한다.

  • The work within this study develops an algorithm based on the structural similarity index to assess numerically between reconstructed images with a reference image to separate the homogeneity and heterogeneity for diffuse optical tomography. Global geometry and region of interest assessment have been measured to yield the similarity. The results indicate that the mean of structural similarity index shows potential performance to distinguish between visible and invisible inclusion inside the model. Therefore, the structural similarity index may promise to assist the image assessment for evaluating breast structural information.

Analogical Reasoning in Construction of Quadratic Curves (이차곡선의 작도 활동에서 나타난 유추적 사고)

  • Analogical reasoning is a mathematically useful way of thinking. By analogy reasoning, students can improve problem solving, inductive reasoning, heuristic methods and creativity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the analogical reasoning of preservice mathematics teachers while constructing quadratic curves defined by eccentricity. To do this, we produced tasks and 28 preservice mathematics teachers solved. The result findings are as follows. First, students could not solve a target problem because of the absence of the mathematical knowledge of the base problem. Second, although student could solve a base problem, students could not solve a target problem because of the absence of the mathematical knowledge of the target problem which corresponded the mathematical knowledge of the base problem. Third, the various solutions of the base problem helped the students solve the target problem. Fourth, students used an algebraic method to construct a quadratic curve. Fifth, the analysis method and potential similarity helped the students solve the target problem.

  • 최근 스마트폰, 태블릿 PC 등 다양한 모바일 기기들의 처리 능력이 향상됨에 따라 모바일 P2P 환경에서의 질의 처리 성능이 향상되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 P2P 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 유사성 스카이라인 질의 처리 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 질의 배포 범위를 확장 및 제한함으로써 결과로 제공될 수 있는 잠재적 객체를 얻음과 동시에 전체 네트워크로의 불필요한 배포를 방지한다. 또한 각 피어들은 질의를 받았을 때 자신이 보유하고 있는 객체를 이용하여 로컬 유사성 스카이라인을 처리하고, 질의를 요청한 피어(질의 피어)에게 처리된 결과를 병합하여 전송한다.

A music similarity function based on probabilistic linear discriminant analysis for cover song identification (커버곡 검색을 위한 확률적 선형 판별 분석 기반 음악 유사도)

  • Computing music similarity is an indispensable component in developing music search service. This paper focuses on learning a music similarity function in order to boost cover song identification performance. By using the probabilistic linear discriminant analysis, we construct a latent music space where the distances between cover song pairs reduces while the distances between the non-cover song pairs increases. We derive a music similarity function by testing hypothesis, whether two songs share the same latent variable or not, using the probabilistic models with the assumption that observed music features are generated from the learned latent music space. Experimental results performed on two cover music datasets show that the proposed music similarity improves the cover song identification performance.

Complimentary Assessment for Conserving Vegetation on Protected Areas in South Korea (보호지역의 식물종 보전 상보성 평가)

  • The number of protected areas has been steadily increased in Korea to achieve Aichi Target 11, and there are studies on potential protected areas that required additional designation. However, there has been an insufficient assessment of the complementarity of protected areas to conserve biodiversity effectively. This study identified the potential habitat areas using the species distribution model for plant species from the 3rd National Ecosystem Survey and compared the plant species abundance in the existing protected area and the potential protected areas using the similarity indices, such as the Jaccard index, Sorenson index, and Bray-Curtis index. As a result, we found that the complementarity of the existing protected areas and most potential protected areas were low, leading to the preservation of similar plant species. Only the buffer zone for Korea National Arboretum had high complementarity and thus is important to conserve some species with the other protected areas. This study confirmed that it was necessary to select additional protected areas outside the existing or potential protected areas to protect plant species with a low inclusion ratio of potential habitats within the protected area. This study is significant because it identified the ecological representativeness of each protected area to examine if the individual protected area can conserve unique and various species and proposed a method of finding candidate areas for additional conservation spatially. The findings of this study can be a valuable reference for the qualitative improvement of protected areas through the complementarity assessments, including animals and the effectiveness assessment study of protected areas using the National Ecosystem Survey data in the future.

  • In this paper, we propose the LAR_CF, latent attribute rating-based collaborative filtering, that is robust to data sparsity problem which is one of traditional problems caused of decreasing rating prediction accuracy. As compared with that existing collaborative filtering method uses a preference rating rated by users as feature vector to calculate similarity between objects, the proposed method improves data sparsity problem using unique attributes of two target objects with existing explicit preference. We consider MovieLens 100k dataset and its item attributes to evaluate the LAR_CF. As a result of artificial data sparsity and full-rating experiments, we confirmed that rating prediction accuracy can be improved rating prediction accuracy in data sparsity condition by the LAR_CF.

Development of a New Artificial Latent Fingerprint Aqueous Solution by Improving Lipid Composition (지질조성 개선을 통한 새로운 인공 잠재지문 수용액의 개발)

  • Previous artificial latent fingerprint solution has shown unsatisfactory results. Therefore, in this study, we developed an artificial latent fingerprint solution close to the actual fingerprint composition by improving the lipid composition. We mixed lipid solution with amino acid solution at v/v ratios as follows: 2:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:8, 1:10, 1:20. We then dropped the same amount of each proportion of artificial latent fingerprint solution on porous paper and non-porous slide glass. Subsequently, each sample was treated with Oil red O, Cyanoacrylate fuming and Basic yellow 40 staining. As the concentration of lipids decreased, the output also decreased. Both types of surfaces and all concentrations were visually confirmed very well. In addition, the reactivity to lipids was significantly higher compared to the previous artificial latent fingerprint solution. Furthermore, for the quantitative evaluation, it is necessary to conduct additional research on the printing of the artificial latent fingerprint solution.

  • 오늘의 세계에서 대미사일 방어시스템의 절박한 필요성의 한 예로 이스라엘을 지적하고 싶다. 이스라엘군의 용감성과 용기에도 불구하고, 만일 그들의 적이 이스라엘 영토내의 도시와 주요 시설들을 파괴할수 있는 미사일을 발사한다면, 전선에서의 성공도 위태롭게 될 것이다. 이와같은 일이 벌어진다면 이스라엘은 치명적인 타격을 입게될 것이다. 이 악몽은 적의 미사일이 이스랑엘 영토내에 도달하기전에 요격할수 있는 시스템의 개발을 서두른다면 피할수도 있을 것이다. 유럽도 이와 유사한 상황에 처해 있다. 우리가 재빨리 행동하지 않는다면 잠재적 침략자가 유리한 고지를 점령하는 것을 막지 못할 것이다.
