  • This study is to compensate for inaccuracies in accordance with the change in the deviation correction value due to the movement and location of the ship cargo, equipment of the vessel, and eliminating the inconvenience of hand. By modifying the deviation through the simplification and automation was planned for accuracy and ease of modification of the modified value. The main method used is charted by measuring 24 direction and inputting the value of magnetic compass direction in automatic deviation-correcting apparatus manually or automaticallyThe measured values are exhibited in Table data and made it possible to calculate accurate correction value deviation. From this it can make deviation table having the margin of error within ${\pm}3^{\circ}$in all regions of the world And this table will help to navigational safety and economy under the unavailable or limited gyro contion.

  • The ultimate target cf this study is to develop ship's Digital Compass that can substitute for conventional ship's Magnetic Compass. At first, a new Digital Compass system consisting of three-axis Flux-gate sensors and small sized step motor was developed Then, new deviation adjustment theory incorporating with Kalman filter method was proposed through which automatic deviation analysis and correction are obtainable without ship's swinging procedures. The effectiveness of developed Digital Compass and proposed deviation adjustment theory are verified throughout the performance evaluation tests on the training ship 'SAE-NU-RI'.

  • This paper describes a new estimation method for deviation coefficients, B and C. using only measured single deviation at a fixed compass bearing. At first, some problems in the deviation synthesis with only two coefficients, B and C, are discussed using observed deviation values measured in the four USS warships. Then, acquisition theories and procedures to obtain optimal coefficients, B and C, are expanded and then the efficiencies of the proposed prediction method are evaluated. As results from evaluations, it is shown that the approximated coefficients, B and C, can give optimal approximation to observed single deviation.

  • This paper describes a new method for the acquisition of deviation coefficients, B and C, using a single observed deviation at a fixed compass heading. At first it discusses some problems in the synthesis of two coefficients, B and C, from various observed deviation values in the four USS warships. Then, new theories and procedures for optimal coefficients, $\^{B}\;and\;\^{C},$ are dealt with and then the validity of the proposed method are evaluated. The result of findings indicates that the approximated coefficients, $\^{B}\;and\;\^{C},$ can give optimal approximation to an single observed deviation.

  • Recently, various navigational instruments are being composed into a total navigational system. This system requires accurate ship's heading in digital form. The authors have been studying about an electromagnetic compass with a three - axis magnetic sensor in order to provide an accurate ship's magnetic heading which the compass deviations can automatically compensated in the compass itself. In this pater describe on the theory how to derive the poisson's coefficients from ship's magnetism measured with three axis magnetic sensor and the results obtained by the simulation using deviascope, and that results practically coincident with the value observed by bearing on a distant object with magnetic compass.

  • The magnetic compass as a principal navigational instrument has been long used to fix ship's position and to determine ship's course. Particularly, in the small fishing vessels the studies on performance and rational usages for magnetic compass are requried to improve the safety and productivity of the small fishing vessels even though gyro compass is developed nowadays. For this purpose, the author examined the present condition of the magnetic compasses which are intalled on 219 small fishing vessels, and carried out a series of performance survey for each compass of them and also found the measured values of deviation by installation position of compass, respectively. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The small fishing vessels less than 4 tons among the 219 small fishing vessels from 1 to 10 tons investigated were 50% of them. Only 1% of them were equipped with the deviation correctors, and 14 fishing vessels used the magnetic compasses which are more than 20 years old. 2. According to the compass installation position, the measured values of the deviation of the compass installed on the top bridge and the compass bed in bridge were ascertained to be the smallest, and those values of the compass installed on the bridge deck above engine room were larger and irregular. 3. The concomitant angle of the magnetic compasses installed on the experimented 4 fishing vessels were measured to be 6$^{\circ}$ to 16$^{\circ}$ and not accorded with the Korean standard values.

  • Currently, Many Cyber Security Centers(CSC) are established and being operated in our country. But, in the absence of indicators to evaluate activities of the Managed Security Service(MSS), We can't identify the CSC's level of overall job performance. Therefore, we can't derive strengths and weaknesses from the CSC. From these reasons, The purpose of this research is to develop an objective indicator to evaluate activities of the MSS. I studied both international and domestic Information Security Management System(ISMS) as related standards(ISO/IEC 27001, G-ISMS). Moreover, I analysed the NIST Computer Security Incident Handing Guide and the Incident Management Capability Metrics(IMCM) of Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute(SEI). The implications for this analysis and domestic hands-on experience are reflected in the research. So I developed 10 evaluation domains and 62 detail evaluation items. This research will contribute to our understanding the level of the CSC's job performance.

  • The Electronic compass made as a pilot model in this research is comprised of a three axis magnetic sensor, an accustar clinometer, and a fiber optic gyro sensor. The results confirming the output character, performance, and the accuracy of the deviation corrects of each sensor are as follows: 1) As for the output character of the three axis magnetic sensor, the magnetic field showed a cosine curve on the X axis, a - sine curve on the Y axis, and constant figures on the Z sensor. The horizontal component H and the vertical component V of the terrestrial magnetism calculated from the output voltage were 33.2${\mu}$T and 23.95${\mu}$T respectively. 2) When the fiber optic gyro sensor is fixed on the electromotive rotation transformation and has made a clockwise rotation with the speed of 10/sec, 20/sec, and 30/sec, the relationship between the output and the rotation angle of the fiber optic gyro sensor showed proportionally constant values. 3) When the magnetic field was induced with a magnet, the deviation before the correction was significant at a high of 25. However, the deviation after the correction using Poisson correction was in the 2 range, significantly lower than before the correction. It was confirmed that automatic deviation corrects are possible with the electronic compass made as a pilot model in this research.
