Study on the Prediction of Lateral and Yawing Behaviors of a Leading Vehicle in a Train Collision (철도차량 충돌 시 선두차량의 횡 및 요잉 거동 예측 연구)

  • In this study, we derived theoretical equations for the zigzag movement of a leading vehicle, which is the most frequent behavior in train accidents, by using a simplified spring-mass model for the rolling stock. In order to solve the equations of motion, we applied the Runge-Kutta method, which is the typical numerical analysis method used for differential equations. Furthermore, the lateral displacement of the wheel-set at the wheel-rail interface was estimated using kinetic energy. In order to verify the derived equations, we compared the theoretical and simulated results under various collision conditions. The maximum relative deviations of the lateral displacements were 0.8 [%] ~ 4.7 [%] in light collisions and 0.6 [%] ~ 5.1 [%] under derailment conditions. When an accident is simulated, these theoretical equations can be used to predict the overall behavior and obtain the offset of the body-to-body link as the initial perturbation.

The Effects of Story Making Activities by Utilizing Postmodern Picture Books on Young Children's Creativity and Story Construction Ability (포스트모던 그림책을 활용한 이야기꾸미기 활동이 유아의 창의성 및 이야기 구성능력에 미치는 효과)

  • To investigate the effects of story making activities by utilizing postmodern picture books on young children's creativity and story construction ability, this study targeted 21 five-year-old preschoolers in G daycare center and 18 five-year-old preschoolers in J daycare center located in J Gun, Busan City. 21 young children in G daycare center engaged in story making activities by utilizing postmodern picture books totaling 18 times for 12 weeks, and 18 young children in G daycare center, the comparison group, read postmodern picture books individually in free choice activity time. The results of the study are summarized as follows. Story making activities by utilizing postmodern picture books made statistically more significant progress in the subordinate elements of creativity and all the subordinate elements of story construction ability. That means those activities, by utilizing postmodern picture books, have a positive effect both on the development of young children's creativity and story construction ability.

Eigenvalue Analysis of Stiffened Plates on Pasternak Foundations (Pasternak지반위에 놓인 보강판의 고유치해석)

  • This research analyzes eigenvalue analysis of stiffened plates on the Pasternak foundations using the finite clement method. For analyzing the stiffened plates, both the Mindlin plate theory and Timoshenko beam-column theory were applied. In application of the finite element method, 8-nodes serendipity clement system and 3-nodes finite element system were used for plate and beam elements, respectively. Elastic foundations were modeled as the Pasternak foundations in which the continuity effect of foundations is considered. In order to verify the theory of this study, solutions obtained by this analysis were compared with the classical solutions in reference, experimental solutions and solutions obtained by SAP 2000. The natural frequency of stiffened plates on Pasternak foundations were determined according to changes or foundation parameters and dimensions of stiffener.

  • 최근 컨테이너 선박의 초대형화로 극후물 고장력 강재인 항복응력 460MPa급 고장력강인 EH47이 개발되었다. 두께 80mm의 극후물 용접에서 용접생산성 향상을 위하여 EGW/FCAW로 양면 용접이 검토되고, 입열량은 최대 300kJ/cm의 대입열 용접이 요구된다. 이를 위해서는 강재 및 용접재료 모두 300kJ/cm 용접부 성능이 선급 규격을 만족하여야 함은 물론 마지막 조립단계에서 적용되기 때문에 용접재료의 용접작업성도 매우 크게 요구되고 있다. 먼저 대입열 용접금속에서 요구되는 저온 충격인성($vE_{-20^{\circ}C}{\geq}57J$)을 만족하기 위하여는 용접금속의 미세조직 제어가 필요하며, 특히 조대한 입계페라이트 생성을 억제하고 미세한 입내 페라이트를 균일 분포하는 것이 중요하지만, 이를 위해 용접금속의 소입성이 지나치게 높이면 경화조직인 베이나이트 분율이 증가하여 오히려 용접금속 저온 충격인성을 저하시키므로, 적절한 용접금속의 성분 제어가 중요하다. 한편 용접부는 선급에서 요구하는 최소 강도인 570MPa를 만족하기 위하여 용접금속의 소성구속 현상을 활용하여 용접부 인장강도를 확보 할 수 있음을 확인했다. 이를 위해서는 용접금속의 적정한 경화도 확보가 필요하였다. 전술한 바와 같이 대입열 용접금속 저온 충격인성 확보와 용접부 강도 측면을 고려하여 용접금속 최적의 탄소당량 범위를 제시코자 하였다. 한편 용접재료의 용접작업성은 EGW용접의 용적이행 현상은 자유비행이행으로 이루어지고 있으며 특성상 용접중 용적과 용융지 사이에 많은 순간단락 현상을 동반하고 있으며, 슬래그 유동이 불안정하면 아크 꺼짐 현상도 관찰되고 있다. 따라서, 현장용접시 원할한 용접작업성을 확보할 수 있는 평가 기준으로써 아크 전류 및 전압의 변동 정도를 설정하고, 용접재료의 용접작업성 확보 기준을 제시코자 하였다.

System Identification Analysis on Soil-Structure Interaction Using Field Data (현장자료를 사용한 지반-구조물 상호작용에 대한 경험적 연구)

  • In the field of earthquake engineering, recent improvements in many areas, such as seismological source modeling, analysis of travel path effects, and characterization of local site effects on strong shaking, have led to significant advances in both code-based and more advanced procedures for evaluating earthquake ground motions. A missing link, however, is empirically verified design procedures fur assessing the effects of soil-structure interaction (SSI). Available Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) analysis techniques range from simple substructure-type procedures to relatively sophisticated finite element procedures. The most common substructure approach for foundation-soil interaction is to use a frequency-dependent and complex-valued impedance function. This study uniquely evaluates impedance functions for two well-instrumented sites w significant inertial SSI effects using a system Identification technique. The system identification analysis results are then compared to predictions from a simple theoretical model to gain insight into the inertial interaction effect in the subject sites.

Group Effects in Pile Group under Lateral Loading (수평력을 받는 군말뚝에서의 말뚝의 상호작용)

  • This paper describes the results for a numerical analysis of'single piles and pile oops in clayey soils subjected to monotonous lateral loading using the ABAQUS finite element software. The investigated variables in this study include free head and embedded capped single piles, pile diameter (1.0 m, 0.5 m), pile length (7.0 m, 10.0 m), and pile groups. The 1$\times$3 pile group was selected to investigate the individual pile and group lateral resistance, the distribution of the resistance among the piles, the effects of lateral stresses in front of and on the sides of the piles, and the effect of a cap on the lateral resistance of the leading pile. The soil was modeled using Cam-clay constitutive relationship and the pile was considered as a elastic circular concrete pile. The results show that the size of the cap influences lateral capacity of sin pile. The results also show in pile groups, the pile-soil-pile interaction and the cap effect the resistance in the leading pile, and the p-multiplier for the leading pile of greater than 1.0 was able to be obtained.

A Study on the Protecting Wall for Transferring Pipe of Waste Using Cast Basalt Tube (용융주조 현무암 튜브를 이용한 생활폐기물 이송관로의 보호벽에 관한 연구)

  • The forces applying to an object in the transferring pipe of waste are analyzed and the equation of motion is established in this paper. It is shown that the equation of motion becomes the 1st order non-linear differential equation. Using its general solution, the velocity of the object in the transferring pipe of waste can be expressed in the explicit form. Noting that the velocity of object is impact velocity to the elbow or curved part of the transferring pipe of waste, the kinetic energy of the object can be calculated and the necessary impact strength of inner wall is obtained. The velocity of object is also calculated and presented in the graphic forms with the condition of air velocity 30m/sec. The impact test of cast basalt tube is carried out by the free fall of a weight and the test results show that the impact strength of the cast basalt tube is sufficient to apply to protecting inner wall of the transferring pipe of waste.

  • The FPS, featured with high quality graphic of superior visual reality, is steadily growing because of the improvement of computer performance and technological advancement of game production. But most of the FPS games provide monotonous freedom with which players can only change the weapons in one character and this will make users lose their interests when playing games for long hours. Valve has introduced 'Team Fortress Classic' in 1999, in order to change the monotonous game methods. This game has attracted great attention because of the composition of various and unique characters through the introduction of military specialty system: that is the first trial in the history of FPS game. I, by analyzing this using MBTI, intend to analyze how much of immersion and interest the characters of various military specialties can provide to players when FPS games are developed.

  • The seismic response reduction capacity of a smart mid-story isolation system was investigated using the RNN model in this study. For this purpose, an RNN model was developed to make a dynamic response prediction of building structures subjected to seismic loads. An existing tall building with a mid-story isolation system was selected as an example structure for realistic research. A smart mid-story isolation system was comprised of an MR damper instead of existing lead dampers. The RNN model predicted the seismic responses accurately compared to those of the FEM model. The simulation time of the RNN model can be reduced significantly compared to the FEM model. After the numerical simulations, the smart mid-story isolation system could effectively reduce the seismic responses of the existing building compared to the conventional mid-story isolation system.

  • FRP(Fiber glass reinforced plastics) is compound with materials, which are created to combine each other materials, of which nature of mechanical and chemical are different. Even though the weight and the thickness are identic, its physical figure of characteristic changes with consisting of lay-up and work situation. It is also a method of creating after manufacturing of mould. It has feature that manufacturing of FRP runs parallel design of material with design of structure simultaneously. The rule of FRP structure is distinguished from the length of a ship and it is hard to catch the feature of structure mechanics due to identical formula and figure used for it regardless of the shape of a ship or the speed. This studying, basing on a small FRP ship, will show te fundamental data needed to design of structure analysing the feature of intensity with direction, the method of Lay-up, and the characteristic of materials of FRP.
