For this purpose, a survey of 208 university students in Kangwon-do was conducted and the data was analyzed. The results of this study are summarized as follows: The career decision level of the university students majoring in social welfare is 2.65, and career preparation behavior is 2.28. By using a multiple regression, volunteering satisfaction and participation activeness had a positive effect on the career decision level, and grade and volunteering satisfaction had a positive effect on the career preparation behavior. This study finally discussed theoretical and practical implications for university student's volunteer strategies on the results.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of volunteering experience at a small library in an apartment complex on the formation of a sense of community through a qualitative method. Furthermore, the volunteering experience facilitated communication among the residents of the apartment and they recognized the libraries as a shared community space. Finally, through the above processes, the volunteering experience contributes to formimg a sense of community.
The purpose of this study explained the experience of volunteering activities and the relationship of subjective self-awareness in order to examine the social meaning of volunteer activities. For adults aged 20 or older, 312 volunteering experience and social support awareness were analyzed on the level of self-identity by allocation sampling method depending on gender and age. Recently, as voluntary activity has become more widespread, there have been some voluntary activity movements in the provision of library services for people with disabilities. This study aimed to develop a model on voluntary activity in library services for disabled people in public libraries. Survey data collected through three data collection methods showed that volunteer activities in public library services for the disabled were very poor, and recommended the training of library staff and volunteers serving disabled people, the management of educational programs for librarians about the disabled and the dissemination of standardized manuals. From the results of the survey, a voluntary activity model, based on three factors, the aims of library services, the types of the disabilities, and volunteer services including specific sub areas of services, was developed. Finally, this voluntary activity model will contribute to the theory development of library services for the disabled
The duration of volunteering can be analyzed in terms of commitment and attachment. Previous studies have investigated the duration of volunteering predominantly from the perspective of commitment. Alternatively, this study focuses on the concept of attachment and investigates the characteristics of those who volunteer habitually over their whole life, regardless of the regularity and the intensity of the volunteer work. In so doing, the study attempts to identify factors associated with the attachment to volunteering. Data came from a sample of 8,415 participants, ages over twenty who responded to all the surveys of the Korea Welfare Panel Study, from Wave 1 to 10. Zero-inflated negative bionomial regression model was employed to analyze the total number of volunteering in the past ten years. Findings show that people with high attachment to volunteering were those with religion, less education, and a strong sense of reciprocity. Based on the findings, we provide the practical implications for the improved operation and management of volunteer organizations.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the motivation of adolescent volunteers based on exchange theory by analyzing benefits and costs. The activation for family-volunteering is explored to decrease the cost of volunteering. Data were collected from 463 adolescents and analyzed using SPSS 16.0 program. The statistics used for analysis were the factor analysis, cluster analysis, T-Test and ANOVA, Findings indicated that a 75.2% of adolescents participated in voluntary activities during last one year, but a 90.3% of subjects was not taken part in family volunteering. Family volunteering has not been activated but adolescents hoped high to participate with family. Adolescents evaluated high the cost of family time lost because of volunteering. The clusters evaluating the costs of volunteering low participated more than other clusters. From these results, it was proposed that costs of volunteering such as conflicts with members of family or supervisors should be lessened than the benefits of it emphasized. The family volunteering is suggested to decrease the cost of family time loss.

This study applied self-determination theory to investigate the relationships between volunteers' perception of supervisors' autonomy support, volunteering motivation, and persistence intentions among collegiate students. Collegiate volunteers(n=515) involved in volunteer activities completed measures of supervisors' autonomy support, 5 forms regulation, and persistence intentions. Bivariate correlations indicated that volunteer motivation demonstrated an ordered pattern of relationships, such that adjunct points along the regulatory continuum would be more positively associated with on another than distal points. Analyses using structural equation modeling revealed that supervisors' autonomy support was positively related to more autonomous motivation(intrinsic motivation and identified regulation), while was natively associated with amotivation. Amotivation was negatively related with persistence intentions, and more autonomous motivations(intrinsic and identified) predicted grater intentions to continue with volunteer activity for next 6 months. The findings are discussed in light of the self-determination theory.
