A Questionnaire Research on the Subjective Sound Recognition (주관적 소리인식에 관한 설문조사 연구)

  • This research aims to derive the general emotion and preference of the 25 sounds by using the questionnaire method to provide the contents for the soundscape design fit to the characteristics of the given situation. The results can be summarized as follows : Nature sounds except dog barking and locust crying showed highest preference, and the traffic sounds, baby crying and footstep of upper floor showed the lowest. Hereby, the sound recognition can be different each other according to quality of tone and situation even they are the same sounds. The most impressive, wanted to be conserved and retrospective sound was the nature sound, and the most wanted to be removed sound was the machinery sound. And the social sound was shown as the most korean and fit to the art theme street.

  • As a passive soundscape facility, fountain is a useful way to give place such as public square, park identity and vitality. In this study, to know the optimistic distance and sound level range from fountain, sound levels due to distance were measured and subject responses were checked by questionnaire. Levels from 56dB to 68dB are recommended by subjects and moving forward to fountain decreases less comfort ratio than backward Moving forward 5m and backward 5m(total range 10m), there is little difference in comfort ratio. The results of this study could used for street furniture location design and P.A system output level.

  • It is necessary to conduct researches about seismic design and analysis to protect various structures from earthquakes which are one of the most destructive natural disaster to human civilization. To assess the seismic capacity of structure, not only analytical but also experimental researches are important. Currently, pseudodynamic test known as computer-actuator on-line test is one of the available test methods to assess seismic capacity of structure without using shaking table. In this paper seismic capacity of simple one-degree of freedom structure was estimated by pseudodynamic test. Good agreement between the experimental and analytical results was obtained. Better results would be obtained when more sophisticated measuring and controlling instruments are available.

  • This paper proposes a game controller that provides user motion input and tactile feedback display, in addition to the traditional button-type input. The device utilizes both an accelerometer and an infrared camera in order to estimate 3D position and to recognize user motion. The information from the accelerometer and the camera are integrated for better performance. Various tactile sensations are presented using a voice-coil type vibrator. We apply the proposed controller to a motion-based game and validate its usability.

  • ENSO(El $Ni\check{n}o$ Southern Oscillation)은 태평양상의 해양과 대기간의 복잡한 상호작용의 일부이며, ENSO 순환(ENSO cycle)의 극한상태인 엘니뇨와 라니냐는 세계적으로 발생하는 홍수와 가뭄 등 자연재해와 많은 연관성을 가지고 있음이 많은 연구를 통하여 알려지고 있다. 우리나라에서도 ENSO와 수문변량들간의 관계를 분석하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는데, 수문자료의 변동계수가 크기 때문에 이를 단순 표준화하여 해석하는데 있어 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 자료의 표준정규분포화를 통하여 ENSO와 우리나라 수문변량들간의 관계를 분석하였다. ENSO를 정량적으로 표준지수화하기 위하여 적도부근 남태평양 Tahiti섬과 오스트레일리아 북부 Darwin 지역에서의 기압차를 월별로 표준화(standardization)한 SOI(Southern Oscillation Index)지수를 이용하였고, 수문자료를 정량적으로 표준지수화하기 위하여 우리나라 23개 기상관측소의 월강수량, 12개 기상관측소의 월평균기온, 월최저기온, 월최고기온 자료를 이용하여 표준정규분포를 가지는 표준정규지수로 환산하였다. 환산된 자료의 계절적 영향을 파악하고자 3개월 단위로 구분하여, 초과확률 등을 이용한 분석을 실시한 결과, 특정지역의 수문변동이 남방진동지수와 유의한 상관관계를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 현재 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는 수문기상학적 예측모형의 개발에 유용한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

Compatibility of Continuous Rabi Oscillation and Discontinuous Quantum Jumps (연속적 라비 진동과 불연속적 양자도약의 양립성)

  • The connection between the continuousness of Rabi oscillation and the discontinuity of quantum jumps has long remained one of the conceptual difficulties since the discovery of the quantum physical paradigm. In this study, however, we demonstrate that the behavior of the atom-field composite system gradually changes from the continuous Rabi interaction to the discontinuous quantum jumps as the atom-field coupling strength is reduced. The reduction occurs through enlarging the quantization volume of the mode so that the mode approaches one of the infinitely many modes of the thermal background.

Application of Ultrasonic Wave to the Squeezing Process From the Seeds (식물 씨앗의 착유과정에 있어서 초음파의 적용)

  • To improve the limit of efficiency of squeezing oil in a conventional method, which seeds are compressed simply, the adoptability of the additional energy by the ultrasonic wave was investigated experimentally. As the results, using the ultrasonic vibration from the Langevin-type transducer, the efficiency was increased up to 25 %, whereas the conventional method has 15% efficiency. To investigate the additional pressure by the ultrasonic wave, the acoustic impedance of the sample and the vibration velocity of the transducer were measured. Although the amplitude of the ultrasonic is about 2.8 % of the compression pressure, the efficiency is increased a lot as mentioned above because the pressure is changed according to ultrasonic period.

  • There are two relaxation frequencies in orthogonally polarized dual-mode solid-state lasers. Complex dynamic behaviors such as chaos can be observed by modulating orthogonally polarized dual-mode solid-state lasers. In this paper, we derived Maxwell-Bloch equations by considering anisotropy explicitly in laser-atom interactions and explained the complex nonlinear dynamical behaviors.

  • Comprehensive numerical computations are made of side-heated squire cavity which is exposed to zero mean g-jitter. Numerical solutions are acquires to the governing two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations for a Boussinesq fluid. When the system is exposed to pure sinusoidal g-jitter inclined to the vertical axis, in spite of zero mean gravity there exist non zero net flow fields [8]. The resonance phenomenon are observed in moderate Rayleigh number. And, by comprehensive numerical work, unlike[5], it is found that they are related with the overshoot phenomenon of the sudden gravity up problem.
