This descriptive research study investigated the relationships between different degrees of family support, ego-resilience and employment volition of patients suffering from alcohol use disorder, and we identified the factors that had an influence on employment volition. This study used the survey research technique and structured questionnaires. The data was collected from 128 males (aged 20 years or older) and who had been diagnosed with alcohol use disorder. They had also undergone either inpatient hospital care or outpatient treatment. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed that family support had a value of 4.30, an ego resilience had a value of 2.37 and the employment volition had a value of 4.06. The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that there was statistically significant positive correlation between employment volition and ego resilience (${\beta}=-.314$, p<.01) and age (${\beta}=-.253$, p<.01), and the total explanatory power of these 2 factors was 16.3%. According to the results of this study, age-based approaches are needed to improve the employment volition of patients with alcohol use disorder. Additionally, the results of this study suggest that an ego resilience enhancement program be developed and implemented to help these patients.

This study investigated the mediating effect of critical thinking disposition on the relationship between ego resilience and self-leadership of nursing students. The subjects of the study were 193 third-year and fourth-year nursing students from three universities in G Province, and data were collected from November 1 to November 19, 2021. The collected data were subjected to descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The mediation effect was analyzed using Baron and Kenny's three-step procedure, and the statistical significance of the mediation effect was verified using the Sobel test. As a result of this study, self-leadership was positively correlated with ego resilience(r=.43, p<.001) and critical thinking disposition(r=.51, p<.001), and ego resilience was positively correlated with critical thinking disposition(r =.58, p<.001). It was found that there was a partial mediating effect of critical thinking disposition in the relationship between ego resilience and self-leadership(Sobel test: Z=5.05, p<.001). Therefore, in order to increase the self-leadership of nursing students, an integrated approach is needed to improve ego resilience and critical thinking disposition.
The major purpose of this research was to explore the mediating effects of ego-resiliency between parent communication style and stress coping styles in adolescence. The subjects who participated in this study included 247 high school students from Gyeong-gi province. They completed questionnaires on parent-adolescent communication, ego-resilience, and stress coping styles using the cognitive appraisal model by Lazarus & Folkman(1984). Data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. It was found that parent-adolescence communication as well as ego-resilience had significant effects on stress coping styles. In particular, female teenagers showed evidence that ego-resilience had complete mediation over relationships between a parent's communication styles and their stress coping styles.
This research aims to make people realize the importance of styles of father's communication and ego-resilience in school life adaptation and, furthermore, provide necessary data for the communication between father and children by confirming the mediation effect of ego-resilience in the relationship between the styles of father's communication, which the child recognizes, and the school life adaptation. The selected research questions to achieve such research purpose are like the following. First, what is the correlation among school life adaptation, ego-resilience, and communications styles of father that child recognizes? Second, does the ego-resilience show mediation effect in the relationship between the school life adaptation and communication styles of the father that child recognizes? The subjects for this research were 345 children in 5thand 6thgrades from B elementary school in Seo-gu, Incheon. SPSS 18.0 program was used for the collected data, and correlation analysis was performed in order to discover the relationship among variables. Regression analysis was performed to verify the mediation effect of ego-resilience. The summary of this research is like the following. First, as the result of the correlation analysis of the father's communication styles, ego-resilience and the school life adaptation, which the child recognized, the three variables showed statistically significant correlation. Among the functional and dysfunctional communication styles that child recognized, the placating style showed positive correlation with ego-resilience and school life adaptation, and among dysfunctional communication styles, the intellectualizing style, distracting style, and blaming style showed negative correlation with ego-resilience and school life adaptation. Ego-resilience and school life adaptation showed positive correlation. Second, after looking at the mediation effect of ego-resilience in the relationship of the father's communication style and school life adaptation, the result showed that ego-resilience had partial mediation effect in the relationship of the father's communication style and school life adaptation. In this research, it has significance in the aspect that it confirmed the relationship and route between the father's communication styles, school life adaptation, and ego-resilience, which child recognized. Therefore, the effort is required to research and apply desirable communication method between fathers and children in order to help students to adapt well in school life, and moreover, it is also required that ego-resilience improvement program gets developed and applied at the school field.

This study was undertaken to identify effects of the peer group reading program (PGRP) on the tenacity, self-resilience, and adaptation to university life of new entrants to the university. This was a non-equivalence control group quasi-experimental research study design. The subjects examined were entrants at the S University. The experimental group was provided the PGRP, and the control group was provided a general program for 13 weeks. The PGRP consisted of three or four students per group. Each group read one book for one week. Subsequently, all students gathered and presented their reading reports and discussed their comments, once a week. Data were analyzed using Chi-square test and t-test to compare the differences between both groups. A total of 73 subjects were included in the study: 34 in the experimental group and 39 in the control group. There were no significant differences in the general characteristics between the groups. Furthermore, no significant differences were observed between both groups before the intervention; however, the experimental group showed improved tenacity (p<0.01) and self-resilience (p=0.020) after the intervention, which were significantly different between both groups. Our results indicate the requirement to develop and apply various reading programs for improving the personality, self-resilience, and college life adaptability of university entrants.

This study examined the effects of perfectionism and ego-resiliency on the anxiety in two groups of nursing students: leisure activity, and no leisure activity group. A total of 134 undergraduate students were recruited at two universities in A and B cities, Korea using the convenient sampling method. They were asked to complete a self-reported questionnaire for 11 days in October, 2015. The results showed that there were significant differences in the ego-resiliency (t=-3.80, p=.001) and anxiety (t=3.71, p<.001) according to the leisure activity. In the subjects who did not have leisure activities, perfectionism (${\beta}=.71$, p<.001) and ego-resiliency (${\beta}=-.29$, p=.003) were identified as significant predictors of anxiety and this model explained 58.0% of the variance in anxiety (F=34.50, p<.001). In the analysis according to the classification of current leisure activity, Perfectionism (${\beta}=.54$, p=.003) was identified as a significant predictor of anxiety in subjects doing travel watch and pastime amusement, and this model explained 26.0% of the variance in anxiety in nursing students (F=5.66, p=.009). Therefore, providing strategies to control anxiety can not only improve ego-resiliency, but also reduce perfectionism among nursing students. In addition, it is necessary to resolve the disturbance factors of the leisure activity and create an environment that promotes leisure activities in universities.
The purpose of this study is to find out if individual variables, ego resilience, self-efficacy, and perfectionism of pre-service daycare teachers can predict anxiety about reality shock after being daycare teachers. Subjects were 176 college students in their 1st~4th year who wanted to become daycare teachers. The data were verified by using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. The study results are as follows: First, the higher the year of school they were in, the higher the anxiety about reality shock was. Second, there was a significant correlation among ego resilience, self-efficacy, perfectionism, and anxiety about reality shock. Specifically, as ego resilience and self-efficacy are lower and perfectionism is stronger, anxiety about reality shock was found to be higher. Finally, the year of school, self-efficacy, and perfectionism of pre-service teacher turned to be variables predicting anxiety about reality shock. Based on the results of this study, we searched for a solution to reduce anxiety about reality shock of pre-service daycare teachers and provide basic information that can do properly prepare future teachers.
