Analysis of Genetic Relation among Collected Landraces of Agrimonsa pilosa L. Using RAPD (RAPD를 이용한 짚신나물(Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb.) 수집종 유연관계 분석)

  • Agromonia pilosa Ledeb. has been used as a medicinal plant in traditional folk remedy. There are few reports on classification, physiology, ecology and morphological studies of Agromonia pilosa L. in Korea. Therefore, advanced approaches on study and development with this plant would be done urgently. Present stndy was carried out to gain basic information on genetic resources and variation with collected domestic landraces through RAPD analysis in Agromonia pilosa L. Forty two collections of Agromonia pilosa L. from nation-wide area including USA one were analyzed by RAPD test. Molecular marker size by amplified DNA band pattern ranged from 300 to 2,100bp. Among the collection, two landraces of Hadong and Cheonghak-dong showed close relation in genetic similarity. Minimum and maximum value by matrix of 1-F among 26 collected landraces were figured out as 0.365 and 0.827 showing mean value for 0.624, respectively. Those landraces were classified into two groups with cluster analysis by Nei and Li's formula from RAPD-analyzed values, and considerable genetic differences were recognized between two groups.

  • DMZ 일원은 정전협정으로 비무장지대(DMZ: Demilitarized Zone)가 설정된 이래 민간인의 출입이 엄격히 금지된 채로 외부의 간섭에서 벗어난 독보적 공간으로 보전되어 오고 있다. 하지만 일부 지역은 자연재해 및 군사적 목적으로 훼손되어 생태적으로 교란된 지역이 발생하여 생태적 건강성이 저하되고 있다. 무엇보다 군사분계선 남쪽 2km에 설치된 남방한계선은 군사적 목적에 따라 시계확보를 위해 불모지작전을 수행하여 생태적 교란 및 토양침식에 의해 생태계가 열악한 실정이다. DMZ 내 생태교란지 식물복원 연구는 DMZ내 생태교란지를 하나의 특수한 생태계로 간주하여, 향후 DMZ내 생태교란지에 특화된 식생복원 체계를 마련하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 DMZ 155마일(248km)에 대해서 위성영상분석을 수행하여 생태교란지 유형화분류 연구를 수행하여 7개 유형(저지대초지, 서부저지대산지, 저습지 및 수공간 지역 등)으로 분류하였다. 또한 DMZ 생태교란지에 적합한 식물종 선정을 위하여 DMZ 전역을 대상으로 식물상 조사를 실시하여, 분포가 확인된 종을 대상으로 도입 가능종의 검토, 종자 수집 및 채종원 조성을 실시하였다. 추후 DMZ 생태교란지 식물복원에 적합한 공법연구를 수행하고자 한다. 시계확보를 위해 수행되는 불모지 작전에 적합한 종의 선정, 선정된 종을 대상으로 유사환경 조성에 따른 공법 적용, 적용된 공법에 따른 관리 방안 연구를 함께 수행하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 DMZ 일원에 특화된 공법개발이 이루어진다면 불모지 작전 및 관리 최소화가 이루어지고, 무엇보다 우리나라 종자 및 야생화 산업의 활성화와 현재 파편화 되어 있는 생태축이 하나의 축으로 연결 될 것이라고 기대해 본다.

Antimicrobial Activities of Extracts from Several Native and Exotic Plants in Korea (수 종의 한국자생식물과 귀화식물 추출액이 토양미생물에 미치는 항균활성)

  • The soil pH favored by several native plants in Korea ranges 5.33∼7.20, while a more acidic range of pH 3.95∼6.10 is acceptable to exotic plants. Ethanol extracts of native and exotic plants in Korea were investigated for antimicrobial activity against Bacillus sphiaericus 2362, Bacillus thuringiensis var. subtilis and Bacillus thuringiensis var. cereus and Actinomycetes. Higher antimicrobial activity was observed from the extract of exotic plants than those of native plants. The ethanol extract of Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior was observed to have the highest antimicrobial activity against 4 species of soil microbes. Especially, antimicrobial activity of Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior showed the largest clear zone of 48mm in Actinomycetes. Larger clear zone was formed in the order of caffeic acid, benzoic acid and ρ -coumaric acid among the nine chemical compounds. Accordingly, the antimicrobial activity of Ambrosia artemisiifolia var elatior against Actinomycetes was found to be due to the synergetic effect of chemical compounds.

  • Despite rising global concerns over the potential impacts of invasive alien species on indigenous species, the consequences of such introductions are lacking. The cabbage seedpod weevil (CSPW, Ceutorhynchus obstrictus) was found invaded into Korea in the early of 1990s. A large-scale survey in Korea reveals that, in about 20 years post-arrival, the invasive CSPW has become the most abundant on rape flowers and spread almost parts of South Korea including Is. Jeju and Is. Ulleung. Its spread is concurrent with the habitat retraction to cruciferous weeds of the native rapseed weevil (RSW, C. albosuturalis). However, Is. Yeoseo located between the mainland and Is. Jeju, showed their ratio with about 1:1. It suggests that the population of CSPW recently entered this island. Although underlying mechanisms of the decline of native species and increase of invaded species remain unknown, the potential roles of exploitative competition cannot be ruled out. Given that invasive weevil can rapidly replace native congeners, increased level of surveillances is demanding to discourage further invasion of othe alien pests.

A Study on Planting Landscaping Plants according to the Characteristics of Urban River Sections - A Case Study on Godeokcheon(Stream) in Seoul - (도시하천 구간 특성에 따른 조경 식물 식재방안 연구 - 서울시 고덕천을 사례로 -)

  • The present study was conducted to assess the adequacy of landscaping plants in city streams by investigating the species and growth status of landscaping plants, taking Godeokcheon in Seoul Metropolitan City as an example. The stream structure related to the planting ground and the impact of flood damage were analyzed. The adequacy of the planting species was analyzed based on the native species and moist land-inhabiting plants presented in the preceding study results. The adequacy, depending on the planting location and planting form, was analyzed using the growth states of adaptive and nonadaptive species by river topography. The planting location of those along the waterfront was the best, followed by the plants on waterside hills and embankment slopes. It is thought that the adaptability of dryland-inhabiting plants increased as the soil dried due to the impervious pavement of surrounding bikeways and trails. The species adequate for embankment slopes are thought to be native species and dryland-inhabiting plants. It is thought that, for waterside hills, the planting rate of wetland-inhabiting plants should be increased, and for waterfronts, the planting rate of dryland-inhabiting plants should be decreased. As for the planting form, the growth state was the best when mixed species were planted and the worst when other plants appeared. For city streams, the planting rates of native species and wetland-inhabiting plants should be increased, and adequate plant species for each location should be selected.

Resoures Plants Distributed in the Warm-temperature Zone of Jeonnam Province (전남지방에 분포하는 난대 자원식물 - 희귀특산 목본식물을 중심으로 -)

  • There are many island areas in Jeonnam Province and various plants are naturally grown due to their regional characteristics. Among them 217species were found to be Rare-Specialty plants in Jonnam Province. There are growing 35 species of Critically Endangered(CR), 37 species of Endangered Species(EN), 54 species of Vulnerable(VU) and 36 species of Least Concern(LC), many of which are native to islands far south or western of the sea. This report briefly describes the geographical distribution location and the state of reproduction among Rare-Specialty woody plants grown in the Warm-temperature Zone of Jeonnam Province. There are growing Michella compressa(Shinan-gun), Actinidia rufa(Wando-gun), Glochidion chodoense(Jindo-gun), Rhus ambigua(Yeosu), Wikstroemia ganpi (Goheung-gun, Yeosu) among of the 35 Critically Endangered species. Woody plants of Endangered Species(EN) are growing Albizia kalkora(Mokpo, Muan-gun), Daphne kiusiana(Shinan-gun), Marsdenia tomentosa(Wando-gun), Osmanthus insuralis(Yeosu, Shinan-gun). Woody plants of Vulnerable(VU) are growing Ardisia crenata(Wando-gun, Shinan-gun), Hibiscus hamabo(Wando-gun), Illicium anisatum (Jindo-gun), Koelreuteria paniculata(Wando-gun), Wikstroemia ganpi(Youngam-gun). Woody plants of Least Concern(LC) are Celtis choseniana(Yeosu), Chionanthus retusus(Wando-gun, Goheung-gun), Cinnamomum camphora(Wando-gun, Jindo-gun), Linder sericea(Boseong-gun).

  • 자웅산(264.3m)은 DMZ 접경지역인 경기도 파주시 법원읍에 위치하며, 백두대간 줄기 중 한북정맥을 따라 동쪽으로는 노고산(401m), 서쪽으로는 명학산(220m) 사이에 위치하고 있다. 2020년 4월부터 10월까지 계절별로 1회씩 총 3회 식물상 조사를 진행하였고 화상자료와 증거표본을 확보하였다. 본 조사로부터 자웅산 일대에 자생하는 관속식물은 82과 208속 267종 9아종 22변종 4품종으로 총 303분류군이 확인되었다. 양치식물은 10과 18분류군, 나자식물은 2과 6분류군, 쌍자엽식물이 62과 226분류군, 단자엽식물이 8과 53분류군으로 확인되었다. 개나리(Forsythia koreana (Rehder) Nakai), 백운산원추리(Hemerocallis hakuunensis Nakai), 키버들(Salix koriyanagi Kimura ex Goerz) 등 3과 3분류군의 특산식물이 확인되었다. 침입외래식물로는 가시도꼬마리(Xanthium italicum Moretti), 단풍잎돼지풀(Ambrosia trifida L.), 미국개기장(Panicum dichotomiflorum Michx.), 서양민들레(Taraxacum officinale F.H.Wigg.), 애기망초(Conyza parva Cronquist) 등 7과 23분류군으로 조사되어 조사식물 303분류군의 7.6%를 차지하였다. 환경부 지정 식물구계학적 특정종은 V등급이 미나리냉이(Cardamine leucantha (Tausch) O.E.Schulz), IV등급이 당단풍나무(Acer pseudosieboldianum (Pax) Kom.), 산복사나무(Prunus davidiana (Carrière) Franch.) 등 2분류군, III등급이 금낭화(Dicentra spectabilis (L.) Lem.), 꽃쥐손이(Geranium platyanthum Duthie), 분비나무(Abies nephrolepis (Trautv. ex Maxim.) Maxim.) 등 7분류군이 확인되어 III등급 이상의 특정종은 10분류군으로 파악된다.
