Cutting-Line Sensing Methods for an Automated Concrete Pile Cutter (파일 두부정리 자동화 장비를 위한 두부정리선 센싱 방법)

  • The use of prefabricated concrete piles have been gradually increased in many construction sites. One of main works for building a concrete pile foundation is to crush a part of pile head which is compressed with more than $800kg/cm^2$. A pile cutting work is usually performed by a crusher and three to four skilled workers. Recent reports on the pile cutting work reveal that a lot of cracks which significantly reduce the strength of the pile and are frequently made during pile cutting operations and it is very repetitive and labor intensive work. To improve productivity, safety, and quality of the conventional concrete pile cutting work, the research on developing an automated concrete pile cutter has been performed. In this paper, sensing methods for detecting a pile cutting line are suggested with operation process algorithms. The suggested methods are very important to develop the automated pile cutter. A pilot-type of the automated pile cutter that adopt one of the suggested sensing methods, is developed and tested in a construction site.

Performance Evaluation of the Small Automatic Line Marking Equipment (소형 차선도색 자동화 장비의 성능 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In order to improve the nighttime visibility of the lane, the need for the development of the automated line marking equipment is on the rise. The purpose of this study is to suggest performance assessment methodology that can be assessed from various aspects such as productivity, safety and quality performance of line marking equipment and to comprehensively analyze the performance of hand-operated and automated equipment based on field test. The following shows the results. It suggested a methodology capable of analyzing the performance of the line marking equipment in terms of productivity, safety and quality. Automated equipment for line marking was analyzed that can be obtained productivity achievement rate of 156.3% as compared with hand-operated equipment. On the basis of the expert advise and literature review, we derived twelve safety factors and ten quality factors of unit work in line marking. By utilizing the AHP technique, we estimated the importance of safety and quality factors. Automated equipment for line marking was analyzed to have been able to expect safety improvement rate of 49.8% and quality improvement rate of 47.2%. It is expected that the performance assessment methodology suggested in this study will be useful in analyzing objective and quantitative validity and expected effectiveness of the line marking equipment.

  • 자동화 컨테이너터미널은 ATC(Automated Transfer Crane)와 AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle)와 같은 자동화 운송 장비를 사용하는 컨테이너터미널이다. 이러한 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 핵심은 생산성을 향상시키기 위한 효율적인 장비 운영이 결정적인 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 AGV의 이동 위치 결정을 위한 RTK-GPS(Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) 위치 정보 전송 및 운용 방법에 대해서 연구하였다. 이를 위해서 기존의 무선모뎀을 이용한 RTK-GPS 전송 방법을 무선 LAN(Local Area Network) 환경에서 RTK-GPS 위치 정보 전송 방법에 대해서 제안하고, AGV 이동 위치 결정 및 계산을 실험하였다.

  • 기존의 공정자동화 설비에서는 센서를 통하여 계측된 데이터들이 4-20mA의 아날로그 신호를 통하여 제어기와 컴퓨터들로 전송되었다. 이러한 아날로그 신호 전송 방식에서는 제어 시스템의 구조가 복잡해지고 설치에 많은 비용과 노력이 투입될 수밖에 없다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위하여 기술 선진국에서는 필드 장비들 간에 고속의 직렬 통신을 통하여 제어 및 자동화 관련 디지털 데이터의 전송을 실시간으로 지원하는 필드버스 통신망을 개발하였으며, 1990년대 이후 공장 자동화, 공정 제어 및 발전 설비 등 각종 산업 설비에 필드버스를 매우 활발히 도입하고 있다. Foundation Fieldbus 모듈은 공정제어 시스템예서 사용되는 센서, 제어기, PLC, 밸브, 구동기, 스위치 등의 모든 필드 장비에 바로 탑재되어 Foundation Fieldbus의 통신 기능을 제공하는 통신 부품으로 첨단의 공정자동화 시스템을 구축하기 위하여 반드시 확보되어야 할 핵심기술이다. 본 연구를 통해 제작된 Foundation Fieldbus 모듈은 기존의 센서제품을 FF기반의 지능형 센서로 바로 전환할 수 있는 핵심부품이다.

  • Machines for crack sealing automation have been continually developed since the early 1990's because of the effectiveness of crack sealing that would be able to improve safety, quality and productivity. It has been considered challenging problem to detect crack network in pavement which includes noise (oil marks, skid marks, previously sealed cracks and inherent noise). Moreover, it is required to develop crack network mapping and modeling algorithm in order to accurately inject sealant along to the middle of cut crack network. The primary objective of this study is to propose machine vision algorithms (digital image processing algorithm and path planning algorithm) for fully automated pavement crack sealing. It is anticipated that the effective use of the proposed machine vision algorithms would be able to reduce error rate in image processing for detecting, mapping and modeling crack network as well as improving quality and productivity compared to existing vision algorithms.

  • As products that consumers want become more diverse, the types of automation equipment are becoming more diverse and advanced to produce competitive products. In general, equipment is manufactured with built-in interface devices (HMI) for users so that operators can efficiently monitor and operate equipment quickly. Because HMI devices are connected to various industrial controllers, elements such as communication protocols of various controllers must be understood and set up in the design stage. Non-experts not only have difficulty choosing compatible items among various protocols, but also have limitations in integrating and operating on one device because screens and settings are statically assigned. This paper proposes a model that can scan information such as equipment ID and communication protocol with QR code using a mobile device, access industrial controller, and remotely operate the displayed equipment screen. The proposed model is expected to increase efficiency in inspection and management of automated equipment as it can easily set, monitor, and operate the communication environment of various automated equipment using one mobile device.

  • 굴삭기는 다양한 산업 분야에서 폭넓게 이용되고 있는 대표적인 장비임에도 불구하고 작업 환경은 매우 열악하여 굴삭 조종자는 각종 소음이나 진동, 분진에의 노출뿐만 아니라 산업재해의 위험성 또한 높다. 이러한 문제점들을 타개하기 위하여 현재 국내에서는 2006년부터 지능형굴삭시스템(Intelligent Excavating System)에 의한 자동화된 굴삭기의 개발을 위하여 연구를 진행 중에 있다. 자동화 굴삭시스템 구축에 있어서 센싱(sensing)을 통해 획득된 지형 및 주변 환경정보를 활용하여 숙련공의 휴리스틱스(heuristics)를 바탕으로 설계된 모듈을 통해 최적의 굴삭 작업 계획을 세우고, GUI (Graphic User Interface)를 제공하여 실시간 작업진행 상태 파악 및 모니터링(monitoring) 내용을 굴삭기 조종자와 공사 감독관에게 제공하는 Task Planning System의 개발은 생산성, 안전성, 작업의 품질 및 장비의 성능에도 지대한 영향을 미치며 자동화된 굴삭시스템을 개발함에 있어서 필수적으로 요구되어지는 핵심기술이다. 본 논문에서는 자동화 굴삭시스템을 위한 자동화 계획생성 시스템인 Task Planning System의 현재까지 진행된 연구 내용과 모니터링 및 작업에 대한 최소간섭을 위한 Task Planning System Interface를 소개한다.

  • Wee developed the automatic operation system for the laboratories equipment based on MATLAB GUI. By using Instrument Control Tool Box and standard protcol, PC and equipments are well connected each other. Wee developed the software to control the display of input and output between PC and equipments by using MATLAB GUI, This system will be effectively used in laboratories and experimental facilities and more in on-line education system for experiments.
