A Study on the Control System of Passive Filter to Reduce Harmonics (고조파 저감을 위한 수동필터의 제어시스템에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we developed DSP(Digital Signal Processor)-based control system to automatically open and close passive filter, which is used to reduce harmonics, according to operating condition of loads. Passive filter control system automatically open and close each branch of filter according to working conditions of loads by sending signals to open and close installation of passive filter after measuring and monitoring voltage, current, harmonics, reactive power, power factor and so on. We verified it's performance by connecting control system with passive filter in the power line using the 100HP D.C motor drive, opening and closing passive filter according to operation condition of motor, and measuring harmonics and reactive power, etc.

Data Collection System to Water Depth in Reservoir Using Accurate Location Information (정밀 위치정보 데이터를 이용한 수중 하저면의 수심 정보 획득 시스템)

  • In this paper, an automatic cruise system of unmanned boat was developed for surveying water depth in reservoir using accurate location information. Using global satellite navigation system(GNSS) data in real time, this unmanned system, combined with an echo sounder, can simultaneously collect location information and depth information on the reservoir. This automatic navigation system allows the automatic route generation program to automatically generate a cruise route according to the input conditions for grid sizes of 5m, 10m and 20m, and automatically controls the cruise route with high positional accuracy. The developed system was tested to verify the applicability of the selected Yonggok(Geoncheon) reservoir as a test reservoir located in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do.

Application of Automatic Stormwater Monitoring System and SWMM Model for Estimation of Urban Pollutant Loading During Storm Events (빗물 자동모니터링장치와 SWMM 모델을 이용한 강우시 도시지역 오염부하량 예측에 관한 연구)

  • An automatic flow and water quality monitoring system was applied to estimate pollutant loads to an urban stream during storm events in DTV (Daeduk Techno Valley), Daejeon, Korea. The monitoring system consists of rainfall gage, ultrasonic water level meter, water quality sensors for DO, temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity and automatic water sampler for further laboratory analysis. All data are transmitted through on-line system and the monitoring system is designed to be controlled manually in the field and remotely from laboratory computer. Flow rates were verified with field measurements during storm events and showed good agreements. Automatic sampler was used to collect real time samples and analyzed for BOD, COD, TN, TP, SS and other pollutant concentrations in the laboratory. SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) urban watershed model was applied and calibrated using the observed flow and water quality data for the study area. While flow modeling results showed good agreement for all events, water quality modeling results showed variable levels of agreement. These results indicate that current options in the SWMM model to predict pollutant build up and wash-off effects are not sufficient to satisfy modeling of all the rainfall events under study and thus need further modification. This study showed the automatic monitoring system can be used to provide data to assist further refinement of modeling accuracy. This automatic stormwater monitoring and modeling system can be used to develop basin scale water quality management strategies of urban streams in storm events.

  • 본 연구에서는 스마트 홈 솔루션 IoT 허브 시스템의 하드웨어를 개발한다. IoT를 통해 스마트기기의 상태를 모니터링하다가, 특정 센싱값을 받으면 제어를 통해 스마트기기를 제어할 수 있도록 개발한다. 미세먼지 측정과 온습도를 조절하고, 가정 온도를 측정하여 전자제품의 전원을 조절하는 등 홈을 자동 제어하기 위한 소프트웨어도 함께 개발한다.

Development of a New Automatic Image Quality Optimization System for Mobile TFT-LCD Applications (모바일 TFT-LCD 응용을 위한 새로운 형태의 자동화질 최적화 시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents a new automatic TFT-LCD image quality optimization system using DSP for the first time. Since conventional manual method depends on experiences of LCD module developers, it is highly labor-intensive and requires several correction steps providing large gamma correction error. The proposed system optimizes automatically gamma adjustment and power setting registers in mobile TFT-LCD driver IC to reduce gamma correction error, adjusting time, and flicker. It contains module-under-test (MUT, TFT-LCD module), PC installed with program, multimedia display tester for measuring luminance and flicker, and control board for interface between PC and TFT-LCD module. We have developed a new algorithm using 6-point programmable matching technique with reference gamma curve and applying automatic power setting sequence. Developed algorithm and program are generally applicable for most of the TFT-LCD modules. It is realized to calibrate gamma values of 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 and 3.0, and reduce flicker level. The control board is designed with DSP and FPGA, and it supports various interfaces such as RGB and CPU. Developed automatic image quality optimization system showed significantly reduced gamma adjusting time, reduced flicker, and much less average gamma error than conventional manual method. We believe that the proposed system is very useful to provide high-quality TFT-LCD and to improve developing process using optimized gamma-curve setting and automatic power setting.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new design approach for self-sustained resonant accelerometer, that takes advantage of the automatic gain control (AGC) loop to achieve a stabilized oscillation dynamics. Fundamental idea of this accelerometer is to maintain uniform amplitude of oscillation under input accelerations. Through system modeling and loop transformation considering the envelope of oscillation, the controller is designed to maintain uniform amplitude in oscillation under dynamic input acceleration. The simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed accelerometer design, which is applicable to control grade inertial measurement system in industrial and civil application fields.

  • In this study, an automatic idle stop control system was developed, which automatically stops the idle state engine as it detects the stop state of the car for several seconds and restarts the stopped engine with the driver's electrical signal. It is composed of microprocessor and the related electronic circuits and communicates with ECU and TCU. With accurate and confirmed operating performance, the control system was equipped in the test car which was proceeded the ECE15+EUDC mode test. It is confirmed that the control system, ASG has much favourable effects on reducing the fuel consumption and harmful exhaust emissions.

  • 본 연구는 기존의 실내 환경 관리시스템의 단순함에 퍼지이론을 부가하여 지능적으로 관리하는 것을 제안한다. 이 장치는 실내의 온도, 습도, 공기 오염도를 센서를 사용하여 측정한 후, 이를 아두이노를 활용한 제어 프로그램으로 보낸다. 계절별 적정 환경을 기준으로 만든 퍼지 규칙을 통해 쾌적한 실내 환경을 만들 수 있도록 에어컨, 제습기, 공기청정기를 제어하여 자동으로 실내의 환경을 관리해주는 지능적인 IoT 환경을 구축한다.

System Implementation for Fair Automatic Heating Operation Based on Spatial Distributing and Zonal Calorie Measuring (공간분활 및 영역열량측정에 의한 공평 자동난방운영시스템 구현)

  • This paper describes the system implementation of the heating operation based on spatial distributing and zonal calorie measuring and analyzing of houses to calculate the fair amount of the heating meterage automatically. The heating space is distributed into 4 zones, which the flow rate and calories are checked by one meter respectively. The system is composed of a heating sources, adjuster of thermostat, valve controller, PC converter and total monitering. The returning temperature in the spatial zones is measured for the heating calorie to calculate the zonal calories according to the rooms temperature. The proposed system results in error by 1% or less in comparing with the dedicated experimental equipment, and reduces energy cost by 7% from conventional system. The fair checking system will be enhanced with building energy management system in the future.

  • Bathymetry which is mainly used on the earth or the sea can be surveyed directly by a person who is on a surveying ship or in a way one estimates the target through a surveying ship. However, the surveying ship which is being used now is divided into a manned and unmanned system and it's difficult to deal with it appropriately according to the water depth or the condition of weather. Therefore, this study will invent the surveying ship that can measure the water depth with the unmanned remote control system in the place where it's difficult to for man access because of a bad weather or a vast area. There are two methods in the control system of the manned and unmanned surveying ship which has been developed in this study. One is an automatic control which moves on the path set by the user in advance and the other is the optimized passive control in which the control station can manage the direction and speed of a surveying ship directly.
